I love the explanation (in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) even though I'm not catholic, I'm a born again believer. My daughter and I were curious about the right way to do it.
"God is love." 1. John 4:16 That is the inner secret of the Trinity. God became man [hand moving down] to gather us into his love [hand moving sideward], which is the Holy Spirit. "God is love." What more could one give - how could one give more unconditionally? Love is who he is. In Thomas Aquinas' words, God is 'ipsum esse per se subsistens'. Being itself subsisting. The sheer act of being. Love. That is what we see in the first books of the bible to our salvation in Jesus Christ. I’m an Episcopalian and we use the sign of the cross all the time. In our liturgy we use at the opening of mass, after our penitential prayer when the priest absolves us, at the announcement of the gospel we make three small crosses on our forehead, lips and heart, during the Nicene Creed at the word resurrection of the dead, before receiving the body and blood of Christ and at the blessing at the end of mass. Making the sign of the cross is not exclusive to the Ronan Catholic Church. Many denominations use it.
Thank you for this teaching. I'm LCMS, not Catholic. Making the sign of the cross is in the Luther's Catechism, but I'm directionally challenged. 🤣 This video helped me get sorted and feel slightly less awkward. Many blessings.
Thank you Father for the video. If you could say a prayer for my family and myself I’d really appreciate it. There’s just always something bad happening..and we could really use a break. The stress is almost unbearable. If you have the time I mean. Thank you 🙏 ❤️ and God bless

This passage reminds us to not let our hearts be troubled for the Lord Jesus is with us always and will never leave us. Let us choose Jesus in our life everyday even when we go through struggles. 🙏 John ch 14 1-10 1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, beloved also in me. 2 In my father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go and prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye May be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas said unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus said unto him, Have I been so long time with you and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, He doeth the works.

This is good, I've learnt to do the sign of the cross by making a cross shape with my thumb and my index finger, then a kiss to the cross meaning Amen. I wonder if that's right?
Father, could you please talk about the hand position for the sign of the Cross? Especially in the Per Signum. I feel my fingers get stuck, I don't know if I'm doing it right. 😢
Hi! I think I may have been doing this wrong the whole time while praying lol. I do all the steps mentioned (Forehead, Heart, 2 Shoulders), but then after I touch my nose, then touch my heart again, then point up kind of like how Steph Curry points up. My question is if I'm doing it wrong, will God still hear my prayers? Also, can God hear my prayers even if I'm not actually saying it by mouth but only in my mind? Thank you for the help, I really appreciate it.
Could you give me the scripture that tells you to pray to the lady of Grace? Just curious... I thought it says in the Bible to pray to the Father in the name of Jesus. Where does it even mention mother of grace......?

Personal experience on how I successfully overcame my anxiety which might help your son and others:
It's a cycle of thought --> emotion (what you feel) --> thought --> emotion (what you feel) ....
First you need to differentiate between these two. Because dealing with one is different from dealing with the other.
Since it's a circle, you must break one of these, but you can deal with both. Dealing with the thought(s) is more important.
The circle (your anxiety) does not disappear instantly. But it becomes weaker every time you manage to break one element of it.
1. Regarding the emotions you might search for breathing techniques or methods to cause physical pain to lessen the feeling. And remember the emotion (= physical, what you actually feel when anxiety manifests itself) is not the same as the thought which triggered the emotion. You cannot fight the emotion itself or run away mentally without making things worse. But what you can do is to face the emotions which means to become aware of your bodily symptoms and accept them voluntarily. Your emotions cannot (!) force you to fight them mentally (= with your thoughts). That’s how the chain between emotion and thought can be cut by refusing to fight the emotion after having had the thought.
2. Regarding the thoughts themselves:
Your thoughts can become an inner circle if you start catastrophising. Catastrophising should be interrupted right at the start and must not be thought through till some presumed result is found which falsely promises inner peace if you act according to it. How do you do it? Do not try to not think about it because that does not work. Instead, think about something else something that distracts you very easily (for instance, in my case that’s the latest football news).

I can highly recommend Bishop Barron's many videos on the Trinity and "The Love of the Trinity" by Fr. Brice Higginbotham here on RUclips.
THANK YOU FOR THE HELP
Thank You Father.
Thank you Father Rocky.❤
Brilliant, clear and accessible. Excellent video
Thank you Father Rocky.
We got it together thanks for teaching me and us !!! 😄😁
You know…it does make me happy though. Genuine deep down happiness…peace of mind and heart.
That is the Holy Spirit, who Jesus called the helper.
Thanks father Rocky.
Thank you Father Aki
Thanks so much. Merry Christmas
I needed to find out what that hand thing was called, thank you for this, man.
Happy valentines even though that was like a week ago 👍👍👍
Thanks my Father.
I am totally thinking about being Catholic! this is a really cool tradition (the sign of the cross) that honors God!
Thanks bro you saved my life !!
Thank you for this teaching. I'm LCMS, not Catholic. Making the sign of the cross is in the Luther's Catechism, but I'm directionally challenged. 🤣 This video helped me get sorted and feel slightly less awkward. Many blessings.
We Lutherans also do this blessed sign! Thank you for this video! Much love for our Catholic brothers in Christ ❤️✝️
Thank you father , it's been awhile.
Thank you Father for the video. If you could say a prayer for my family and myself I’d really appreciate it. There’s just always something bad happening..and we could really use a break. The stress is almost unbearable. If you have the time I mean. Thank you 🙏 ❤️ and God bless
I’m saying a prayer for you and your family right now ❤

Atlanta Resident Here is a powerful prayer for finding a long term relationship with a spouse and with life long friends. It does have a computer voice reading the prayer that is written on the screen, you can mute the sound and read it along for yourself if you have an aversion to computer voice videos. ruclips.net/video/QcjW6QVQdXU/видео.html

This passage reminds us to not let our hearts be troubled for the Lord Jesus is with us always and will never leave us. Let us choose Jesus in our life everyday even when we go through struggles. 🙏
John ch 14 1-10
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, beloved also in me.
Thank you! I am drawn to Catholicism and currently learning the Rosary. I am going step by step and learning from scratch so this was the perfect lesson for the beginning of the Rosary.
Thank you father
God Bless you, Holy Spirit touched my heart to learn this and it lead to you as well as Sam Shoumanin. I respect the Catholic to keep the old History to believe and to always teach the Hero who Loved and Died for us "Christ Jesus "
Yes!Thank you!Cheers!AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN.
Well done father thank you it's been a long time I guess I forgot
Godbless you sir!😊
Well done Father
Thank you father 🙏
This is good, I've learnt to do the sign of the cross by making a cross shape with my thumb and my index finger, then a kiss to the cross meaning Amen. I wonder if that's right?
Thanks! Great video!
Been doing this ever since a teen from seeing ufc fighters do it. Keep me in prayers. I pray to conquer the will of my flesh.
Father, could you please talk about the hand position for the sign of the Cross? Especially in the Per Signum. I feel my fingers get stuck, I don't know if I'm doing it right. 😢
Thanks Father.
You look like a very kind man
God be with you my friends...
I do it when I eat, when I enter work or school and when I get off the bus 🙏🏻
Using our right hand and after touching the forehead do you touch the left or right shoulder first? I need to know. Left or right shoulder first?
GOD BLESS U FR! Our Lady of Fatima Pray for us! 🌹
Thank you, very helpful as I start my RCIA in October
.~Thankyou Brother! Peace be with your Spirit❤ Hallelujah, Amen!~❤️🧎🪽💯💯💯💯
thank you very much father now can you teach us the long version of the sign of the cross ?
When we touch our shoulders which shoulder should we touch first hour left or a right.
Could you give me the scripture that tells you to pray to the lady of Grace? Just curious... I thought it says in the Bible to pray to the Father in the name of Jesus. Where does it even mention mother of grace......?
I was wondering this also. I believe God gives grace.
I’m Protestant and I use the Sign of the Cross. My Episcopalian friends also use the Sign. I personally picked the habit up form my Catholic friends. God bless.
Thank you 👍 👍
I don't understand why there's so many Protestants here trying to spread hate.We don't go to your videos and accuse you of being heretics.
Truth is not hate.
Martin luther explains this very well.
If they hated you they wouldn’t be telling you the truth, you have a devil and you need to repent in the name of Jesus
What really is the difference ?? Geez god loves his children of the world and to fight among yourself for small earthly particularlys is of the ego and satan. So just shut up and give glory to our god.
Thank you.
If you touch your forehead and then your chest followed by shoulder to shoulder, you just made an upside-down cross. Please help me understand why?
Thank you sirr
When you touch your shoulder then which shoulder would be first left or right?
Thank you
Hello father ... greetings from Fiji 🇫🇯 The Holy spirit move can it be from right to left?? If not why?
Love how to the point this was, thank you! I was worried I was doing it wrong.. I'm not Catholic, though.
