My fiancée bought her pond prowler from her grandfather for $1 and my buddy gave me a brand new min kota trolling motor and battery that he wasn’t going to use. Probably the best deal of our lives lol
Duuuude! No joke!! These things are becoming more and more expensive on the second hand market.
Thanks for the no BS review
I would definitely think about getting this kind of boat if I was looking to get out on the water without spending an arm and a leg. Looks functional and fun.
Maintenance free!
This is an excellent choice for 2 people to get out in the water. Cannot beat the price.
Absolutely!
what I done for rod holders. I put a milk crate on the back and put my batteries in it and attached 3 rod holders to it one for the net and the other two for the poles and also attached my fish finder to it works great.
That’s a great idea!
I think they’re great. Not too many videos of them on saltwater but love the videos you’ve been making! Nice work, thank you!
Thank you so much! I hardly see them in salt. Hard on the seats!
@@GreysonRoberts if I land one I think I’d upgrade to the Millennium aluminum frame seats. Simply because south Texas is so hot in the summer
You should think about gear tracks for rod holders and accessories.
for the electrical re charge i would install a canopy for the rear of the little boat and install a 100 watt solar panel folding or permanent installed, the 100 watt per hour makes 5.15 amps back into the battery per hour, something to thing about, unless your into ROWING HOME?
Definitely something to consider! I've never gone below 60% battery on my new deep cycle but could be a great solution for when I do the intercoastal waterway!
Good for you
Good review. Why not put a couple of wheels at the back? It sure would make maneuvering it easier. Quite a few yacht boat tenders do this. They're coming straight from the ship and want a way to just wheel it up onto the sand.
I have one. My wife and I enjoy fishing out of it. I just think it needs to be a little bit wider. Another foot or so would really help. Other than that, I really like it.
I'm actually looking at getting one of these in the next few days. It's a very simple affordable option to get 2 people on the water and do some fishing. I think the fact it comes with the 2 seats is a huge plus. To have to buy them separately would be roughly an extra $150-$200 from the prices I've seen. Was curious about stability but I think you just summed that up pretty well in your vid. My mind is made up I believe.Should be on the water soon !!!
You won’t regret it! If stability is a big factor for you like it was for me, I highly recommend you check out my stability test here on the channel!
How is the tracking when you run the motor from the back? Had you considered adding mounting track ? I'm thinking of getting one
It’s alright not the best. I am going to install a clamp on $35 rudder from Amazon that seems to work great for people
I have owned 3 of these boats.I really like them. The only thing I don’t like is the raised “cup holders” on top of the deck. They are totally useless and get in the way of your rods when you lay them on the deck.I also make aluminum skid plates and epoxy them to the bottom corners of the boat,as I have burned holes in the corner from dragging the boat over rocky surfaces, causing the inner hull to fill up with water.
The cupholders are worthless that's why I just put a fish finder in one. I've seen some mods to improve them but I just bring my drinks in sealed hydroflask water bottles
@@GreysonRoberts I have the 10-1/2 footer.I only use 1 seat,so I cut a piece of composite deck material that fits where the seat goes and mounted my fish finder on it.I really love these boats. It’s getting harder to unload from my truck,as I am 65 years old and have a bad back.Fishing has always been my passion since childhood.I have been fishing local tournaments for the last 25 years.I honestly use this boat much more than my 18-1\2 ft tournament boat.
Skid plates are a great idea
I'm looking for something like this..I like to speck and bream fish..also back water salt water for red fish...I dont want a tippy boat
I landed a 26” red in todays new video. You can tell how steady and comfortable I am. I wasn’t thinking about balance at all, just landing the fish!
Link to those custom seats? And rod holders? Thanks for video, just got this thing sold my 12 foot duck boat for it ! Stoked
Check my description you’ll find everything on my boat and I keep it up to date
Where’d you get that handle to hold that extra paddle?
Buy mini tug boat 12 foit xabin cruser
I catch more in my little pond prowler than some of those guys in the 40k boats do. What kind of battery are you using for that 55 thrust motor?
Absolutely! Using a marine cranking battery which is not good but what I had. Now I’ve got a 50ah deep cycle from Amazon but haven’t used it yet
Interesting. I just bought one also. I actually bought 2. One for spare. Just in case. I have a 34lb thrust. Moves my boat pretty good. Please let me know how that 50AH battery did for that 55lb thrust. Or if you could maybe do a video would really help some of us tiny boat people. @@GreysonRoberts
@@nathanbriggs3682 absolutely! I actually sold that motor because that shaft was too short so my prop would stick out of the water. I’m going down to a 46lb thrust. Once it’s all tested for a week or two I’ll make a video!
So I have been thinking about getting one fresh from bass pro shops. I have one question does the pond prowler 10 come with two seats with it or do you buy them separately.
Comes with 2 seats! They will be the stock seats. Mine are aftermarket. But you certainly will get 2 padded seats
Ok thank you
Make a wheel dolly😆
I own 21ft fishing boat and a inshore skiff and I use my pond hopper more and have more fun.
Parker 2120 piliont hiuse best cabinncrusrr
Needs a 4 wheel swivel dolly board to balance the hull on, don't scuff the hull!
How does it do on shallow rivers?
Very well. I’ve got a video on it. We will glide 6 inches of water
Part of the reason I got rid of this style boat was the need for a trailer and lack of maneuverability. However, I miss the stability and ability to bring a friend along. I stuck with my fishing kayak, but I often think about it.
I went kayak fishing couple days ago. You can hit much different spots! Would be great to have both
@@GreysonRoberts So true!
Need for a trailer? It’s literally in the description the whole point of this boat is that u don’t need a trailer and it’s easy to move. I load and unload this by myself everyday in the bed of my truck
@lookinfishy5987 exactly, I believe it only 8 ft long lol
Can you add kayak tracks to it
Yes lots of folks have done it.
I'm torn between this and the pelican bass raider. 🤔🤔
Both great options! I went with this one because I liked how it looked and got a good deal used
Do they ship to the uk
Can’t confirm BUT I’ve heard of people doing it
@@GreysonRoberts would you say this over a fishing kayak
Do you have a life vest, oars, whistle and fire extinguisher? 😂
Most of it 🤣🤷♂️🎣
Has anyone used a 6hp on this boat?
I’ve seen it done! Definitely possible just don’t go full throttle too quick and there shouldn’t be an issue
Has anybody here personally used the quest angler 10? Thinking about buying one off of Facebook marketplace for $900 with a casting deck trolling motor battery fishing baits and two rods. I'm wanting to get up but if somebody who has personal experience says it's a good one I think I'll get it. If anyone could help with that I'd really appreciate it thank you
Do it! You’ll probably notice my boat is a carbon copy of the quest angler, sold under a different brand name.
@@GreysonRoberts yah I think I'll do it! Thanks for the help
Yes it’s great
Suggestion friend. Use those legs and a straight back when bending and lifting! Your 50 year old self will thank you for it!
Put some wheels on it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
