When I bought a RPi 3b+ online from Amazon I didn't realise the seller was in China, it took forever to arrive and when it did it was the Welsh one.
So this 3b+ had been made in Wales then shipped to China and then shipped back again

Here is some information to help you and Brazil Linux users (and generally Pi users). It would be worth saying there is a pi3b _(and thereby 3bPlus and Pi3A and PiZero2W)_ OpenCL driver for the GPU. there are so many things that heterogeneous computing can help in Brazil. Examples include using the GPU core and say 3 of the CPU cores to compute something whilst underclocking the CPU to save power, and then the 4th CPU core might be used for a modest VM perhaps for FreeBSD listening on multiple sockets and running Ansible to manage other VMs on other computers. The 1GB RAM on that pi3b can just about manage the VM. The VM might instead run a debian blob if need be since the bare-metal linux install of the pi does not work that way and boots off the GPU. The OpenCL driver is likely to be used with something like only 16MB Video graphics memory for many tasks it is useful for _(like a Fourier Analysis for say geological or geospatial data processing or WaterML data conversion, or histograms and spectral analysis or spectroscopy or say the PLL phase locked loop or FFT or carrier signals in propagated signals)._ LoRaWAN can be helped that way too. If a USB camera is used _(perhaps from a playstation2 console),_ the Arm7 up has the protection rings, so the A53 can use that on the Pi3bplus (or pi3b, likewise Pi3A, etc.).
With a big enough battery _(a few car batteries and buck convertors),_ a pi3B doing that with a low-power LCD screen and occasionally powered-up speaker and solar chargers outside a few churches in the socioeconomically poorest areas of Brazil could provide some co-ordination and disaster preparedness information, maybe grabbing data via software defined GNURadio antenna and (R-T-L) 2832 u dongle in the USB. Other times it could run a postgres LLM. A vimwiki with po plugin-addon for translation could help SRT files and OCR for subtitles in multiple languages. QR codes could be scanned and shown on the screen to help people.
Other than that, BSD running DNSCrypt Proxy can be useful as long as the limited USB and RJ45 ethernet bandwidth is sufficient for the user.

IMO the 3b+ is still the way to go if you want to do embedded stuff. Like you want it to be doing one, maybe 2 tasks. Great if you’re doing some audio only projects or analog video stuff.

My one and only RPI purchase was a 3B+ that I ordered from fleabay when it was current. It was blue but I had no idea that it was supposed to be something else. I got rid of it for the same retail price I paid for it a few weeks later as it was disappointing. I are say that may increase in value over time.

I seem to recall that my 3b+ worked fairly well on the older 32 bit OS off of an average SD card. Been a long time since I fooled with my 3b+
Did see you like the Samsung bar usb sticks for the Pi. I did have one i used for a ESX whitebox in the past, but my new hypervisor just runs of a ssd. So i started using the Samsung bar on my Pi4, and holy moly this is much better then any other SD card or USB stick i have used before. It is not as fast as a SSD but it cuts te difference between a SD card and SSD in half on my Pi4. And since the Samsung bar is very small for a fast USB stick it is much easier to use as a SSD that hangs on a cable or needs a seperate pcb.

I like the 3B Plus for running Octoprint, cameras, and other network device controllers. Put a small passive heatsink on the cpu, and it just runs, no cooling fan required.
go with a 4b or a 5.....more future proof.
Nice!!! I got my blue 3B+ on a local marketplace here in Brazil about 3 months ago aswell. The ice tower cooler fits perfectly, but I only use the heatsink (the fan is not necessary as it doesn't get as hot). On the TwisterOS website, they mentioned that it is possible to run on 3B+. In the FAQ they have instructions for troubleshooting some issues that may occur.

I have a rpi 3b+. Best to run it headless as a server. If you want a graphical interface either rpi os 32 bit or dietpi lxde.

I had a comment that said I should try some older Pi’s and on my first look this showed up
