Hellooo from Sydney! Your channel popped up in my feed recently after I looked at castles to visit in the UK. I love a good ghost story and these episodes go so well with my coffee and cake 😆 Keep it up, we love your work!
I've got a story: a friend of mine grew up in Wales and she was telling me that Tom Jones lived in the same town as her father - and one day he asked her father for a loan of 5 Pounds and then he moved off to America without ever paying her father back (apparently he'd done that to a few people lol). But she told me her father won't rest until he gets his fiver back.
In the early 1980's, I started a motor bike club called 'Cwn Annwn' (Hounds of hell?), which quite a few bikers joined in the Bridgend/Valleys area. We would do our best to help people, that was it. You need something fixing, we'll fix it - or find someone who can. It was all about biking and our contacts to get things done.
Hen Eglwys, is actually called Capel Mair it's still a consecrated ground. It is the site site of an iron age settlement with a spring. This is not why the chapel was built. It was built because the land had been cleared for charcoal burning before the Black Death . After the Black Death the chapel was built for lay people to worship.
Being from Margam i thought i'd give you just a little information, although the ruins are officially named Hen Eglwys (old church) many of the local population know it as Capel Mair (Mair's chapel) Mair being a Welsh name, loosely based on the name Mary. Many people camp here, and also at the close reservoir at Brombil and at the WW2 Radar station. There is also a momument above Margam castle of an old roman hill fort.
Hi, thanks for the info. I have done another few videos (non-ghost story) of the area which include the names, including Cryke Chapel. Also a video of the Radar Station. ruclips.net/video/gMIUCH7u4PA/видео.html ruclips.net/video/N2Ab5OuWqgg/видео.html
@@flydriveexplore I will be heading to the Blackwood area next year and using public transport to get around , any tips for hikes , ruines and spooky stuff ? Thanks
@@debrahall902 We're not that familiar with the Blackwood area but I think the old Tudor mansion of Llancaiach Fawr Manor is quite near and they do regular ghost tours. Also, if you haven't been to Caerphilly Castle it's definitely worth seeing. Also, Cardiff castle is worth a trip. There are probably lots of great hikes in the area but worth getting some local knowledge on the best ones.

I don't know how you managed to walk back to your car. I would have been beside myself!
I forgot how quickly it gets dark during the winter.
Too funny that ending! But you don't live around normal woods do you 🧐👻
