Honestly I really enjoyed this movie when I watched it. The concept of a camera stuck in a creatures stomach and having to track it issuing the flash is really cool. Although something but have to be hitting the button it still is pretty cool.
The camera was broken. The flashbulb kept going off. That’s what got the first guy killed.

I've read that dinosaurs lived on Skull Island until the Skullcrawlers started to emerge in great numbers, and drove them to extinction. It would make sense, but I'm not sure if it's canon.

That's also why i loved Godzilla: Singular Point, jet jaguar's presence and most kaijus' rather small' size (rodan, anguirus and kumonga in particular) allowed the humans to take part in the action while godzilla was still there providing the giant monster goodness

To give an exemple, you can't crush a diamond with a hammer. You can wail on it, you'll only damage the hammer. But with the precise tool and a careful application of force, you can cut it like butter.
In the Skullcrawler's case, a 50 cal delivers a descent level of energy directly on a very small area, meaning it is unlike anything it has ever been in contact with.

Thing I find amusing in movies like this: you see this creature eat and swallow people. Once it’s dead, they just walk about their travels and leave the people to just die inside the stomach. If they can cut the skin with a katana, could try to hack the stomach and see if you can’t save a broski or 2. Goodmen was borderline dead but the guy wrapped by the tongue was clearly ok going down the hatchet
