Everybody says on RUclips these filter cartridges are not the best, and to replace them with bio sponge, and bio filters, but the RF-S cartridges are so thin. So I am a bit confused. Anybody? so i have the top fin serenity tank and yes, the filters get dirty quickly and i just buy replacements. yk just not to risk anything. i use to rf-s filters for my fish and they work perfectly fine :)
I see this video update was made about a year, just checking to see if you could follow-up with another update sharing your experience since this as well as with the fish. After seeing this I winded up adding a ACF as well with my Betta and Snail. 🥰

veronica ireland thank you very much! I got lucky finding Charlie or in reality, Charlie found me! All the other fish were calm and subdued. Charlie demanded attention at the store so I brought him home 🤙🏼 The other fish, Salt, is an Albino Cory Cat. They supposedly stay really small and this one is very active swimming, cleaning and eating. The two fish definitely compliment each other...one primarily an upper swimmer while the other stays primarily at the bottom.
What brought me to your video was reviews on this tank which I then purchased! So yes, I will be adding a snail as well. I love the live plants too! You have given me a lot of great ideas!

Hi Magdalena! The Bee Gee's are amazing so naming your fish Barry is perfect! I named mine Charlie because...well, Willie just didn't seem to fit (Wonka) The plants I have are called Anubias and it does NOT like to have it's roots covered. You can place a rubberband on it (so it doesn't float) and attach it to a rock or small piece of wood. You can get this, and the moss balls I have in the tank at most pet stores. The fish is an Albino Cory Cat and it stays pretty small, and is very active :-)
I wish petsmart would partner with folks who do these videos to show case what their tanks could look like. This could be really helpful for folks just starting out.
I bought this same tank. It was beautiful and my betta loved it. However within 1 week the filter stopped working, foam started to create, tank became toxic. Took it back and bought another now the new one seems to not have much water flow. How do you adjust?
Lynette Beckles, after unplugging, gently pull the top of the white center tower and lift the hose and pump out. At the bottom of the pump you’ll see an adjustment lever. Move it one notch and try it again. Keep adjusting until you get the desired results. I hope it works for you 😁🤙🏼
I have a question about replacing the filter as far as what is the correct side to face it in the filter. Does the ribbed/divided sections side go to the front of the tank and the flat side go to the back where the opening is for the wire or vice versa? I know which way it is inserted matters but the instructions on the box are as clear as mud, since I don't know if they are showing inserting from back of filer or the front. Thank you.
It’s called Anubias Vivid . I have three different shades of this plant. I was told it was the easiest plant to grow and that’s what i was looking for, along with the Marimo or moss balls 🤙🏼

Jay Carter ... for me, I feel this lighting setup does quite well. I have the darker anubias and moss balls and they’re both doing well. I had a lighter version of anubias that fell apart but I also have a problem with indirect sunlight. The side of the tank that has no sunlight grows really well.

Unfortunately mine got tossed out by my roommate some how while I was out of town... (Yeah sounds "fishy" to me also) anyways I'm using it without a filter. I've looked online with no luck. Thanks.

lindsey Arroyo me too! I’ve never owned a betta until a few months ago however, over 10 years ago I had several aquariums (up to 180 gallons) with everything from freshwater fish to salt, plants, corals and invertebrates...but never a small tank with one fish 😂
I have that tank too, and I also love it, except for the excess condensation forming under the lid due to the heat coming off the lights lol. I lift it up and boop! water drips everywhere lol. I have black lava rock gravel in mine (the undergravel filter seems to function better with fewer clogs due to the porosity) although I also have 3 moss balls lol.
I know what you mean Rachael. I have to make sure to lift the lid slowly and let the condensation drip off before I turn it over. I kept my gravel bed shallow for the better filtration.
Thank you for sharing this video! I have two of my male Bettas in their ten gallon tanks and the other betta in his five gallon tank. They love their decor tanks! Due to adding more room to place the two more Bettas that I would love to purchase, I was thinking of putting them in a 3.5 Top fin Betta flo Glass tank. I hate to downsize the size of the tank but it will be temporary till I find room to put at least the five gallon tanks.

That gravel can hurt that Cory because while he/she is looking for food she might scrape her face on the gravel

be careful with that lava rock. ANY rough edges on plants, decor, and rocks/gravel can tear and rip delicate betta fins ;)
Robin Johnson I know but he doesn’t get ripped because they are very small gravel sized pebbles
