I had a big pickerel double bite the same lure in subsequent casts once. Gotta tell you, that second fight was no where near as enthusiastic as the first one, LOL. Thanks for great content as always, and for sharing your philosophy on Youtubing as well. You are a sportsman first, which accrues extra respect to yourself. Nice sheeps and drum, and that flattie was a dormat! Tight lines.
super cool! has happended to me with River walleye from shore once before. Makes you wonder how many times it actually has happened in cases where there is no distinguishing mark to tell. Shows you have nice, quick fish handling skills.
Great action. I guided for stripers and hybrids in Tennessee for 15 years and on one trip, we also caught the same exact hybrid 2-hours apart and about a mile away from the first catch
Really thought I was about to see you reel up 2 sheepshead on 1 hook… great video anywho! I need this spot 😆 moved to wilm in January from outer hanks. Still trying to learn the fishery - a lot different!
Caught the same Bluefish surf fishing about 20 mins apart - not really surprising since they were chewing like demons that day. Nice vid Elias - thanks
Great day on the water. I tried to grab a few fiddler crabs last time I was out there. Ended up being who could grab who first. Yep, I forgot my gloves. Definitely won't forget again.
For self tagging, if you really wanted to do some research, you can hole punch a fin, or tip of tail. I’ve wanted to do this in a couple of private lakes I fish, just for fun. The hole punch won’t fill in, and so you’ll know if it’s one you’ve previously caught.
That is 100% the same fish 😂 I’ve only had a definitive double catch once, it was a bass with a jaw deformity which I caught 2 times in the span of a week in a small lake. I guess the sheepshead are so used to getting stabbed in the mouth by the various pointy crustaceans and mollusks they eat that they don’t mind getting hooked several times a day as long as they get to keep the bait lol
True story. I once hooked a small freshwater perch from a pond in England. The fish got off but left an eye on the hook. I have no idea what posessed me to do so but, I recast with just the eye for bait. You guessed it, I immediately hooked and landed the one eyed perch. Go figure!
Great video as always, have enjoyed your watching your videos for years now. Just curious, how do you enjoy your Penn Slammer IV and how do you maintain it? So far have enjoyed mine I’ve just bought, but have had mixed results with Penn products in the past and want to know if it’s on my end or not. TIA!
Elias nice fish as always. I’ve been thinking about pulling the trigger on the old town autopilot. How does it do in the shallow backwaters around fort fisher/Zekes island area? That’s my favorite spot to fish. As I can drive right out on the beach. And not deal with the boat ramps!
It seems like southern flounder aren’t having the same issues south of Cape Lookout. I will say they were undeniably overfished in the Pamlico sound, but there have been more of them around since the closure. Jeez I know it’s gotta hurt throwing back flounder that size every trip though, hopefully it will open up in your area soon.
Have a house on the Pamlico and have seen the decline as well. They won't be able to manage by zone because of movements of fish. Some of these jokers go to SC, VA, and beyond (I'm in tagging program and have seen the data first hand) . Sadly, we need a 10 year total and complete moratorium to realistically restore the stock to 100%. That's not from me either, that's straight from the mouth of a former DMF employee. In fact, he said a 10 year closure likely wouldn't be enough. They have seen good improvement with the restrictions already though so there's still hope.
Could you explain how you're fishing for sheep in open water? Assuming its what you're looking for on the depth finder? I have only fished for them along docks or bridges so some input would be appreciated
Had my paddle tail bit in half only to find that piece of plastic in the belly of speckled trout while cleaning fish. Technically not a double catch, but I thought I’d share.
On oak island in the summer a 18 ft alligator lives in a fresh water pond behind some dudes house on south 51st. He feeds them chickens and he doesn’t know where they go in the winter
You know you're in a good place when you're trying to avoid catching certain species to seek others. Then we have days where we're willing to catch anything that is dumber than we are! It's a great game!
Freshwater fish here in Europe look so weak compared to seafish like that sheepshead at the start. A carp double the size with that kind of pressure would be landed within a minute.
I live on the Pamlico and my wife's family tells me stories of the flounder. They used to eat it 3-4 times a week from running 100ft of gill net next to the house for a few hours. We hardly have any now by comparison. The issue is real but certain areas are hit much worse than others.
When your line goes RUUUUUP!😂😂😂😂 Fisherman have so many funny sounds and phrases. Tights line bro.
Was he just humming “Baby Shark?” 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

I remember hunting for fiddlers in Mayport Florida. I was a young kid in 1979. Loved fishing on the Naval Base.
I sure do miss those days.
LOL 😂 really enjoyed the special sound effects. Awesome video as usual
Good of you to mention Jesse / Southern Reels Fishing. Another good guy and a credit to the sport like you are.
That 'stache is sick bro. Good shit.
Also, you are by far my favorite fishing channel to watch, and not just because I'm in NC.
That is wild man. Double catching in that amount of time is so rare, guess they were HUNGRY hungry haha. Great fishing as always
First for me
Always a good day with an upload from Elias!
Thanks!
Props to you still catching crabs for bait! I stopped when my local bait shop started selling them 3 dozen for $10.
super cool! has happended to me with River walleye from shore once before. Makes you wonder how many times it actually has happened in cases where there is no distinguishing mark to tell. Shows you have nice, quick fish handling skills.
I can still remember the Panama videos. Thanks.
Nice shout out to Jesse from SRF. The two of you are the reason I am a kayak fisherman today.
Well done ... yet another productive session on the water.
Great action. I guided for stripers and hybrids in Tennessee for 15 years and on one trip, we also caught the same exact hybrid 2-hours apart and about a mile away from the first catch
I love to see you still getting out.
Nice day! Thanks for the video!
I'm in pensacola florida and I've done that with redfish great stuff man keep it up
Another great video. Thanks Elias.
Caught the same steelhead in the spring when they were dropping back from spawning about ten minutes apart! Fish can be crazy!
Great day on the water. I tried to grab a few fiddler crabs last time I was out there. Ended up being who could grab who first. Yep, I forgot my gloves. Definitely won't forget again.
Nice job Elias! I gotta try one of those barefoot jigs on the fluke. I got a nice sheepshead on your purple shad recently

Love some convicts, thanks for sharing.
All ready in the prison stripes
Likin the hulk hogan look! Muscle em EV!😮
Great video Elias thanks
That forest fire is smoking up Brunswick County pretty bad
Those were all hogs!! Awesome of you to let them breeders go!! Great job!! Luv sheepshead!! Raised convicts!! My kids were good!! Godspeed brother
Elias says, Sheepshead fishing, It`s like Deja Vu all over again!
I think this is my favorite videos, sitting on a rockpile yanking Sheepshead.
Stress free fishin’
Rocking that mustache
I'll be in that area Sept for flounder fishing. Hopefully I can clear up some of those for you.
I feel for ya and the flounder regs you have man.

Great Video Elias......
Love the convict videos
Damn the waters are thick with fish over there. Here in Latvia i fish + _ 30 hours for a 2 persone meal of fish. Good conten you make man.
Fantastic and informative!
Those are some STUD Sheepshead.
Our wonderful state laws on fish
Nice Stache! 👍
Yakety Sax makes EVERYTHING funnier!
Great video! Wish we had sheepshead up north, some in J Bay, seems nothing east. What do they taste like ( compared to porgy, blackfish etc)?
Better than porgy. Not quite as good as tog.
Dude...solid.

It’s been excellent. I just change the line roller bearing every 6 months or so after regular use.
Waw nice fishing tripnya mister 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome video

1.2 feet what I need. It’s got it’s purposes.
My wife thinks you sound exactly like Seth Rogan…😂 is this a first? Solid re-catch
Mantap umpan kepitingnya bos thanks from Indonesian
You ought to go to South Carolina and get some flounder .
Heard anything on our crap flounder season yet?

@@FishingwithBrewski pppphhhhtttt.... went out of Oregon inlet on the weekend and we caught 4 good ones in the first 20 minutes. Money talks.
Could you explain how you're fishing for sheep in open water? Assuming its what you're looking for on the depth finder? I have only fished for them along docks or bridges so some input would be appreciated
Fishing submerged rocks!
@@EliasVFishing Youre the man! Thanks!

Good inshore bite
Is that smoke? From the wildfire? It’s crazy how bad it’s been
Awesome vid 👌
Wow 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

where do you recommend fishing in Wilmington without access to any sort of water craft?
The ocean piers or the surf are the best bet in my opinion
Is that a Mike iaconelli resemblance mustache ?? Haha …btw is weird not Seeing you paddle to get to a spot
The Stache!
Cheers laddy thanks Rick 🇺🇸👩🏻🦼🎸🙏🐈⬛💦🎣😎💥
Do you ever see those really spooky sheep’s in clear water? When I’ve fished Tampa they’re sooo spooky
You know you're in a good place when you're trying to avoid catching certain species to seek others. Then we have days where we're willing to catch anything that is dumber than we are! It's a great game!
Elias, are you just letting the jig sit on the bottom? Or are you bouncing it? Or even just letting it sit off the bottom a ways?
Sitting onBottom
Wow...I'm surprised that you could boat flip those fish on 20!
Nice!
What's the difference between sheepshead and convict?
What fish finder do you use
What size leader was you using for the sheepies?
20lb
where are you fishing at
Cool dog
Is your reel supposed to make that grinding sound?? It doesn't sound right to me.
🎣🤙🏼
Man I tag fish with a blue tag from Matrix Dockside Bait and Tackle they have bait tags if you find the fish you win a pack of baits
Sheepshead fishing we had a hook come loose, five minutes later caught the same Sheepshead with the hook in his mouth.
No tagging program for sheep. I've asked why and didn't get much of an answer other than they're not a matter of concern for DMF right now.
hown do you find them in open water
Fish around rocks

But Elias flounder are endangered in NC don't you know that 😂😂😂

The runoff is still going strong here making most of the rivers unfishable and killing me
Invest in a fishpond net. Will last you a lifetime.
Nice!
