- This is what a boy's life looked like at the feet of the Himalayas. His full name is Bikash Nepal from Tupche village in Nuwakot district of Nepal. His town must be next to Trishuli river somewhere nearby Betrawoti. Filmed 43 years ago, a viewer informs me.

Life in the Nepali mountain villages haven’t changed much, even till today March 2020.
Yeah it's same as shown in video
it's not the same a lot has been changed since then in many parts if not all.
true
It is exactly the same but there are some developments though
Please properly see d Title its1978
Yes, I hope so too. I uploaded a similar story of a boy in Hong Kong and was told that he lives with his family there, being in his fifties!
It took me right back to my childhood days. It was about the same time. I also grew up without electricity, telephone, television and roads. We were very much self sufficient. Thank you very much for the video. Things have changed a lot mostly for bad, so sad.

This video gives me positive vibes. Old times no phone no one knows what internet was. Just living the life to the fullest. But struggle too.
Life in Nepal in 1978 Grt title to chose.
I was born in 1973. I grew up in hills of eastern Nepal. Now I live in Britain. But still I have got house, land in Nepal. This video took me back to my hill village life. Still not much changed in hills of Nepal. Thanks for uploading this video.
This boy must be alive. He will be amazed if he looks himself then and now
My goodness 😍 wonderful thank you very much for uploading this vedio🙏🙏
Thank you so much for uploading such a precious video. I assume that Bikash should be my contemporary. I have also gone through the same circumstances that Bikash did. Fortunately my parents sent me school so that I could read and write. The video depicts the simple but tough life in Nepal basically in rural communities. This video vividly reconnected me with my childhood life but now I live in America. That simple and tough life has transformed into complex and tough. Sometimes I am battered by the problem of language . Sometimes I am beaten due to lack of connection to get an opportunity. Hardship of life has doubled but in different form. But I am happy to be here with a gleaming hope that my little one will definitely have a bright future.
The boy's full name is Bikash Nepal from Tupche village in Nuwakot district of Nepal. His town must be next to Trishuli river somewhere nearby Betrawoti. Filmed 43 years ago if anyone nearby can trace him and show this video would be great. Thanks to the original creator of this video for documenting so well and capturing that moment in history which is going to be extremely beneficial for future generations. And thanks for sharing this video too.
Thanks very much. I'll add your information to the clip. Indeed it would be great if he could be shown this clip!
@@michaelijsbrand His last name should be Nepali, not Nepal because, In the video at 1:44, he was beating a special traditional musical instrument "Jhyali" . The performers of these instruments belong to a special caste known as the "Damai," a group historically associated with playing such instruments in Nepal. Interestingly, the video showcases Tupche, the exact place where I was born and raised. During my childhood, I used to visit the same corn-grinding mill seen in the video. While Bikash's face doesn't seem familiar, it's likely because I was born nearly 12 years after the video's recording. Nevertheless, I possess a deep familiarity with all the locations depicted in the video and might be able to identify and locate this individual. I used to play the same game "Dandi beyo" as shown in the clip at 10:45. It made me nostalgic. I recognized a couple folks in this video especially a black-shirted guy with a red mark (Tika) on his forehead at video 12:06. The dried hill visible in the background is now completely covered by a dense forest due to a significant decrease in population over the past couple of decades, primarily caused by mass migration to cities and overseas as well as the widespread availability of natural gas for cooking.
Is there update about the whereabouts of the boy,@@michaelijsbrand
Bravo to the person who posted this video. It feels so heart-warming to see the breathtakingly exquisite glimpse of our Nepal back then.
Now, everything feels like upside down!!!
Then you are probably mistaken. Life has always been the same in the rural village.
I was born in Brooklyn ny and my mom was born in a village 30 mins from this one. This video is definitely an eye opener and even gave some flashbacks to my mom !
every holiday spent back at my dad's village is a memorable one, the simple lifestyle, people, animals and the beautiful view of the himalayas
A very late reply but I think you didn't do any laborious village work to find it simple and relaxed.
@@Bension I went there for a holiday not to plough fields which i’ve no expertise on , i’m saying simple “lifestyle”, to refer to a manner of living in which a person does not own many things or use many modern machines, lives and enjoys the simple life, the labour is tough but the villagers there are a happy why because they are content with what they have.
Thank you for uploading this.
Absolutely loved it and felt like I am somewhere there still playing with marbles and others..😁 thank you for capturing such a lovely life of Bikash and his family ..👌
This video is still relevant today. December 2020.
Thank you so much for the video ❤️
thank you for showing us our old Nepal.
Luxury life isn't everything. it is just one part of life
Living with, taking care of Nature and hardship is the real experience and supporting the nature
Can u explain it?
Ok go to a jungle and become a hunter gatherer
@@benevolentgiovanni3113 - I don't expect such nonsense reply of my simple statement as we have lifestyle here..
Yes, we are still there with Nature and happy at any situation. hardship is our pride as this keep us teaching on survival at any situation..

Big thanks 🙏 sir for uploading this video
I remembered my childhood 🥰🥰
Wonderful video, thank you Michael Rogge. I was grown up in similar place at around 90s, but slightly developed and better lifestyle. I still can relate to this as many people had a similar lifestyle to this. Its very nostalgic and feel so pure comparing to today's polluted world. Me, my wife and our family will probably consider living in the remote area in the future. Its the best lifestyle.
Hope Bikus is healthy enough & is living well somewhere in Nepal.
I challenge you to subscribe. I think its bikas, its just the way we spell And pronounce is different ☺️☺️
I am pretty sure that he is in his 50s, if somebody goes there i am pretty sure they will be able to find him
He was elected as the prime minister 2 years ago.

man I wish I could go back to this time and live.. I feel guilty for being born late for this.. I always wanted to live in a village and have a life like this... born too late to have this, born too early to explore the universe but born just in time when people's lives could be saved by staying at home
