Thank you for this engaging talk. I was suprised that Maharam's conjecture has a statement I can understand. Moreover, the additional remarks on the history of its solution were quite interesting, especially in the context of the advice Talagrand has been giving elsewhere about "not being afraid to be persistent"

What a lecture! One master paying homage to another master. This prompted me to look at the refutation of Maharam's conjecture, since it reminds me for certain reasons, about the refutation of Connes embedding problem as well.
