You forgot to mention why the use of Palm leaves. In Judges 3 Eglon takes over the city of Palm Trees. What is this city? Jericho. Who led Israel to conquer the promised land? Jesus. What was the first city? Jericho. Joshua and Jesus can be the same name depending on the language. Anyway. Just my humble thoughts on the symbolism.

You didn’t actually tell us what Palm Sunday is. That term cannot be found in the Bible. It is based on the Tradition of the Church as is Holy Week, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday.
If you really want to know what Jesus’ Passion is all about, find a good Catholic Church.
