- Hi there!
Today I want to show you something a little bit different.
Not my regular doll customization process, but something that I think could help me become a better crafter and also better doll customizer in the future!
Lots of new techniques and materials, tons of mistakes and errors... sounds fun for me!
I hope that you'll enjoy this video, despite the lack of dolls this time :P
My next, regular doll related project will be here very soon!
Thank you Elegoo for this collaboration, cause it gave me the motivation to try something I always wanted, but never had the opportunity to.

That liquid frost thing is SO COOL!! I'd try a bigger scale on the dolls later on, to be easier to paint
But! They look amazing 🥰
Maybe one day I will try it! :) The model is very well made! The details one a bigger scale would look so cool!
A larger scale version using dolls would be amazing! Such a cool idea.
@@CatmeleonStudio I do hope to see a Queen Bee, Spring's almost over.
@@brianahawkins8124 I really don't think you will see one... sorry...
Oh my GOD. She’s gorgeous! Glad to see your trying something new. Have a safe and healthy 2022!
Thank you! Best wishes for you too!
@@CatmeleonStudio Thanks!
It's always a great idea to try something new and the end result was really really good. With 3D printed figures you never know how well the colours are going to stick and stand out, so personally I would probably have started with a base colour spray like white to ground the rest of the paint to the figure.
Thank you for the tip :)
The grey is actually good for model painting as its a midtone and allows you to go either lighter or darker and gives the colours a neutral base
I watched Jacky Ohs version and was excited to see what you did with the materials. You are as creative as ever
Thank you :) I enjoyed Jacky's video so much! Glad that people are enjoying mine too ^_^
I love how you did two figures and the 'mirror image' idea, it's a great design choice. I wonder why, in many folk stories, dark hair is automatically assigned evil and light hair and eyes are seen as 'good'. It does look wonderful, but it makes me wonder why. And poor cone-head cat! They're cute, but I hope they recover soon so the cone is no longer needed.
It's because light colours are seen as angelic/godly and pure. Dark colours are more mysterious and spooky. This is why horror movies usually take place at night, and happy movies in the day :)
@@willow2470 Yes, but why? The moon and stars at night are beautiful. The sun burns and blinds. So why is dark and night considered bad?
A lot of it is antisemitic caricatures. Blond haired, blue eyes aryan heroes against dark haired, darker skinned bad guys. Along with yknow, regular racism too. As well as before there was electric lighting, the night was dark, mysterious, and you never knew what was out there. Fear of the unknown type stuff. There's a few different reasons, but if you see it in modern americanized stories, they often tend to be antisemitic. It's even stuff as recent and Tangled.
@@AlmostOtaku7 because you can't see the wolves and the bears that are about to eat you
@@AlmostOtaku7 cause it looks the same?
you did an amazing job!! so beautiful! as with anything practice makes perfect, absolutely stunning tho and really digging the duality concept, nice to see u try new materials and things,,and that liquid frost is crazy awesome(i wanna check it out now too!)cant wait to see some frost fae!💖💀
Thank you! And I highly recommend the frost thing! I am just obsessed now :D
Ive been painting mini figures in all sort of sizes from teeny tiny 20mm high up to 200mm high for almost 50 years. Your first painting attempt is amazing. If half my figures turn out looking like yours I would be very happy. I loved the concept of the mirrored figures.
Thank you! That is so nice to hear! I will definitely try it again in the future :) This hobby really teaches the patience and steady hand :)
Using a wet pallette to paint the minis I print (also on my elegoo) changed the game. 10/10 recommend. ❤️ You did awesome!
I really like the good and evil aspect and the 2-sided mirror is a great addition.
This is so cool! I love the use of mirrors in art, and the whole concept! You knocked this out of the park! I can't wait to see the liquid frost used more, the effect is really stunning.
I love the effect too! I have plans for so many dolls at the moment... and now I need to squeeze some frost project somewhere XD damn! XD
I can't wait to see the frost fairy. OMG enchanterium made a doll that they actually grew crystals on the doll, that plus the frost effect paint stuff would make an awesome frost fairy. 😍🤩😍🤩
Omg, can you tell me the name of the doll or the video or send me a link to it? I'd love to see it, sounds so magical!
@@nicoledobra I think it was alsioh.

OMG that's awesome! So cool of Elegoo to send you all that! ❤️
I like the vampire girl, the details of the dolls are amazing (suspenders, corset bindings)
My hubby paints minis & terrain for gaming (both rpg & battle games) and has gotten pretty good at it as it is a lot of techniques, supplies (like a wet pallet and a just recently a paint sprayer,) and attention to detail. For the creativity he comes to me for color consult as I was a costumer and he doesn't feel confident in that area. I introduced him to color theory and complementary or contrasting and bought him a color wheel, but he still asks for consults!
I hope you enjoyed your foray into mini painting - I enjoyed watching it and the final result is pretty cool - those frost crystals especially!!
HOLY BEJEESUS THIS IS AMAZING! I LOVE THE CONCEPT AND EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!

You did not ask for it, this project is super cool to watch! The mirror is so neat!
This is awesome seriously looking at it through the mirror looks coooool
I actually really like it! The concept is awesome and they actually turned out really awesome
This turned out fantastic, especially for your first time. I always love watching your creations because of the way you problem solve aaaand because you're hilarious.
They are beautiful, new things can always be intimidating, but your work was still wonderful. Thank you for sharing your experiments. 🧚♀🧚
I cieniowanie pastelami Leona stosuje. :)
Tak, wiem, obserwuje Leone od dluzszego czasu :) I, co super fajne, ona mnie tez! ^_^ Nawet mi tutaj komentowała, żebym następnym razem waliła do niej z pytaniami ^_^
Looks beautiful
I found your channel by trying to find ideas for painting miniatures. It is so cool to see things come full circle in a way. Great work as always! They look great!
I absolutely love how the dark girl turned out! ^^👌🏻
i think you did a great job, and that liquid frost is awesome😉
I love it 😍😍😍😍😍😍
You are amazingly talented!!! I would love to get a tattoo of one of your creations!!
It’s so good
first time or not, it's super cool!!! I love the mirror idea. I hate when small pieces break off as well lol frustrating but your hard work was worth it!!
This is amazing, if you ever feel like experimenting with skintones, i really can reccomend brushes that are meant for blending eyeshadows, they can be found cheap, and if you dab the paint like its a foundation, you can get a bit of a matte skinlike texture if thats what you are looking for, you can also make it more smooth with going over the paint with some floofy dry clean brush after application but its a thing one can play with and try out bevore using it on a piece, i normally go for 1/6 scale sized stuff, but maybe some stuff can be useful for some interesting effects here and there, i love your work keep going, people like you make my day x
I dont usually comment on vids but WOOWWW this is so gorgeous! Ive just started watching your videos and the way you put so much detail into the stands is really impressive!! Adds so much to the vibe. Cant wait to watch all ur vids :)
I love them. You did a great job for trying somn new and you never gave up! They really are wonderful the dark and light was a great idea. And the frost wonderful touch to it as well! Thank you for sharing all the good bad and ugly parts of creating something new. I love to see that even if it breaks or goes wrong the show must go on! You did amazing here. 💗💗.
Gorgeous kitty😍💗
Like always a fantastic job!! Love them but the dark version is so cool! 😁🤩 they remind me of the game the medium. With the light and dark side...
looks amazing. its always good to try something new. take it from a miniature painter it looks amazing
I think you did a wonderful Job
When layering, thin down your paints more then you think. You will have to make more coats for full coverage, but you get smoother blends and more controll over color progressions
As an apprentice model painter, who did most of his models and minis on 3D printers (both filament and resin) i must say - those dolls are gorgeous, and paintjob nailed the craft. I like the idea of two sides of the same character, and you did it perfectly.
Hi, far from good to you but beautiful and amazing to me. Glad you had fun and learnt a new craft. Totally love it. Thank you for sharing. Luv from the UK
They turned out so amazing. You said they were your first resin figurines and that you were struggling with a few things so I wanted to recommend a channel called Leona's Workshop, if I remember correctly she has some videos specifically for people that are new to resin figurines and many of her videos have suggestions and small tips and tricks for new resin artists.
Love it, keep practicing, you will get better
I love it! I would put this up in my room for Halloween. It reminds me a lot of Alice through the looking glass!
Thank you! :)
