Gym Staffers and Cop Save 74-Year-Old Man's Life

- A Colorado police officer and gym staffers saved the life of a 74-year-old man. He collapsed in the lobby, was not breathing and he had no pulse. Gym staffers administered CPR and connected him to a defibrillator all while rigorously performing chest compressions to get his heart pumping again. That's when a deputy stepped in to take over another round of chest compressions. Suddenly, the 74-year-old man started breathing again.
People bashing this poor guy for going to the gym at 74... Smh, most folk at 74 can barely get off the couch. I've witnessed quite recently a similar situation at my gym, where a man in his late 40s - eatly 50s suffered a heart attack due to a blocked artery. He survived, but the moral is, it can happen to anybody and there's nothing wrong with caring about your health in your golden years.
That’s the type of facility I’d feel safe working out at. Responsive, well trained, concerned staff. Shoutout to them and that gym, glad you were able to save him.

The same thing happened to my Dad in 2016, one minute he was working out the next he collapsed but thank God a off duty Doctor helped him till paramedics arrived.
74 years old gotta take it easy in the gym. 😮
Can’t assume it was due to him getting physical exercise. This could have been caused by a number of different things.

If they had a Lucas Device they wouldn't have had to keep switching the next guy to do the compressions, that's the hardest part of CPR and will zap all your energy but good on them for saving his life!

Cpr is not trying to make a person breathe its to try to make the heart pump again

(Sigh) doing what anyone else would is not news worthy EYE had to learn cpr to graduate high school I HAD TO it was a requirement and also why is a 74 year old man at the gym instead of you know not making himself collapse by working out you never see a 80 year old weight lifter because they know they can't do it anymore
Some old guys try to pick up young women at the gym
@filmtheory783: Jack LaLanne also known as the "Godfather of Fitness" at the age of 90 he still worked out 2hrs a day everyday until he died at 96!
People should realize going to the gym is good but not at old ages. You have to take it easy. Your body isn't the same
Have you even seen old age people with the muscles. You'll be very surprised

False. It’s encouraged for older people to do some type of exercise.
They said he was in the lobby so I honestly don't think he even made it fully into the gym or worked out that day

@@shawnab8484 what if he kicks the bucket in a week? Or a month ? Could've used all that work to save a baby, or a young homeless person who really needs it. Not a 74 year old. If he would kicked the bucket I bet you would've said " he was taken too soon from us " wouldn't you?
