- On January 26, 1950, India became an Independent Sovereign Democratic Republic with its own Constitution. The Constitution of Independent India that came into being that day was the culmination of a journey that had begun during the first war of Independence in 1857 when Indian soldiers (rebelling against British colonial rule) attempted to frame their own Constitution.
Later, during the freedom movement of the early 20th century, a seminal attempt to create a Constitution was made under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. Eventually, a Constituent Assembly consisting of about 300 men and women representing various shades of political opinion and different parts of the country congregated in the Central Hall of Parliament on December 9, 1946. Their task was to frame a Constitution for a free India. The Assembly took close to three years to create the Constitution that defines and guides our nation today.
The story of making Independent India's Constitution is full of drama and excitement. It took place during momentous times that changed the political contours of South Asia. It was a near impossible task of transforming a diverse, heterogeneous country into a unified nation.
Samvidhaan is the untold story of how the Constitution of the largest Democratic Republic in the world was created.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar recognized as the only person who drafted the Constitution of India because in real Dr. Ambedkar wrote the whole text single-handedly, as a Chairman of Drafting committee and duty to Parliament it was his responsibility to complete the draft of the Constitution, in-spite of his bad health and busy personal social service.

T. T. Krishnamachari in his speech in Constituent assembly about Dr. Babasaheb's dedicatory contribution said, "Out of the seven members selected to prepare the draft constitution, one resigned, one died, one left for America, one was busy with his work in princely state, one or two live away from Delhi, some had to be excused for health reasons, Dr. Ambedkar was the only one who had to bear the burnt."
Samvidhaan is an amazing serial becuse it tells us that after independence it was not an easy task to make our constitution. I solute to our great leaders who have given his contribution in this process.........
True people of present day India do not realize how hard it was to unite the whole country and govern it. They do not put themselves in the shoes of the leaders at that time and empathize. I too was the victim of rumors at my teenage years. Grew up respecting leaders like Gandhi and Nehru but as a teenager I hated them because of the silly things I hear without even thinking about it much. But as I grew older, saw more of my country and things the visionary leaders of past did. I realized I need put things in perspective and debunk my old notions. I started educating myself properly on the whole Indian revolution. India has progressed so much because of all these leaders and we are still enjoying the fruits of their labor. People blame congress for being corrupt but in reality 95% of the Indian citizens are corrupts and selfish, thinking about personal gain rather than the greater good of the nation.
Such a brilliant mind in the person of Dr R.B Ambedkar the most beautiful constitution of the world is made. 👍👍👍

In my opinion, the British would never let this happened. After the II Word War, the British was not in a position to rule India and wanted to have a safe exit. The cunning British with their policy of divide and rule thought the best way to exit from the United India is to separate people on the basis of religion. The Indians of both major religions, Hindus and Moslems fell into this trap. The enemy of India, the Britishers against whom the Independence war was aimed became the heroes and welcomed by both Hindus and Moslems. The British had the last laugh as people of both religions fought and the country divided. The United India could never emerge and both India and Pakistan spent millions acquiring the arms and fighting with each other even today. Why are they foolishly fighting when both know that neither India can finish off Pakistan nor Pakistan can finish off India ? What vested interests are involved in these wars? Only if peace prevailed, we could have used the money spent on wars to construct toilets, in a country where almost 50 per cent of the population does not have toilet facilities. Foolish people. I am ashamed to call myself a man from this sub-continent.

I am really eager to see some channel coming up with a series on our Freedom for struggle, and also something like Discovery of India, re-introducing the Ancient India to modern world. We need to know history, and show it to our countrymen before we have no one who remembers the story of that era.
Kindly guide me how to come out of the crisis at present in this extremely developed system (developed mode of production), and lead the balanced life, without sacrificing the fundamental rights given to the citizens of India by constitution of India within our life time.
