As a toolmaker who usually has to quote tooling by only looking at prints of varying quality, I understand this problem so much. Any job is always one minor thing away from becoming a whole redesign. Usually redesigns mid project or after it’s done thanks to things out of my control
It works with the Orange Jorgensen 60 1/2 from LOWES. It’s a while new plane now. Just ordered one for my Jorgensen 102. What a great way to improve an inexpensive plane
Btw, these adjusters make it delightful to adjust LN tools. It’s such a small thing that makes the adjustment just perfect. Jeff, James, thanks for thinking on the small things
Installed a 10/32 version on a recent manufacture LN 101; huge improvement. Much easier to dial in now, and the brass looks great with the brass 101. I did need to take a very few passes over a stone to get it to fit. This 101 has always been the plane I wanted to like, but couldn't get into. Now, for a lot of things, like a light chamfer, it's the first thing I'll reach for.
I ordered a high angle frog for my LN #4. Even though the new frog was made by Lie-Nelson, it would not work on my LN plane made around 2005. Customer service at LN said that small changes had occurred in the manufacturing over the years, and the differences were enough that the frogs were not interchangeable. I returned the frog and used some of the money to purchase an antique Norris
I totally understand where you are coming from. A couple months ago I replaced the iron on my older block plane. I installed it and, guess what, the slot for the adjuster was not only longer but wider. REALLY SLOPPY but managable. I checked and I did order the correct one. So, in addition to your other production issues, add the fact that if someone replaces the blade, the new iron may be slightly different than your old one. So if you bought the adjuster knob to fit your old iron, it may not fit your new one. AAARRRGGGGGG.
Huh, now I wanna check out the thread pitch and such on my 102. It’s a cast iron body version from like 2009, so I wonder if the thread is the old 10-32 pitch
So, I hadn't realized the Jorgensen 102 is more like a LN 101. Still Worked with the Old LN 102 Style adjuster although comically large for a plane so small. 😂
maybe have Free 3d print of the thread . Customers can print (or have it printed) both threads and see which one is for their plane if they arent sure.
I believe they are a copy of the LN planes so my guess is yes. What are studs? If they are 1/4-28 then they might work. Please let us know what you find out.
This would be a fantastic video for the new generation so they can understand how much work there is in any type of engineering. If they use this, we might have less issues (problems) trying to use or adjust any kind of equipment.

You are a beautiful snide remark!
Seriously I love all the makers who are making small things that make our lives better

Just glad we can make woodworking a bit more pleasurable with simple modifications to great tools.
Thank you, Mr. Wright!
This is what I love to see, some guys figure out 'how to make it BETTER'!

As I grow older I become fonder of fixing rather than replacing. ❤

Thanks for making stuff like this. I don't own this plane, but I have used the other products that you guys sell. Keep them coming.
Unfortunately, improving plane adjustment is rarely plain sailing! Keep up the good work guys.
Oh well, the pleasures of entrepreneurship... 😬
Thanks, James!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
You're looking very beautiful today James !!! This is just nuts to hear all that goes into something so tiny.
Thanks for sharing.
Best of luck!
Very nice work!
That was really interesting.
Thanks good explanation
Some side rebate planes like early Preston and Record also use this adjuster.
The original Reed adjusters also work great on the 140 and low angle Jack from lie-Nielsen
will it work on Tyler tool planes???

"Why don't you just..." that one sentence that complicates engineering since forever.
thanks
I like the Dad joke on the t shirt.
The nice thing about standards is that there are so many of them.
Does Jeff make a kit with the metal parts to build a plane??
Not yet. But that might be coming once he releases the new planes.
@@WoodByWrightHowTo I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Please let me know!

Sorry, got all hyper focused on Uzbek lavh stands and an iron front smoothing plane I found
Mine is 1/4-28 with a bronze screw

Happiness!!!!

Do you have one that fits the Luban 102 and 103?

@reedplanes728 I'm not sure but I think they're metric.
You're all kinds of beautiful 😂😂😂
Dont ever change, man, love the vids and the worst kinda pun infused dad jokes... hope this thread bears with me 😅
🎶You are so beautiful my James 🎶
Wow, what a nightmare. I kinda want an adjuster even though I don't have a LN102...
You are a beautiful person 😅
Don’t own a Lie Nielson….so no worries! Haha! LOL

BTW, you're beautiful! And I really like your hairstyle, above as well as below the eyes 🙂
What a pain in the nut.
Now just make one for the 101. 😊
I had one person tell me the smaller one would fit the 101. I just have not tried yet.
The 101 has a 10-32 thread ( at least some do) so we do have an adjuster that should fit. Please let us know if your 101 has a different thread.
Comment down below :)
I mean you should be able to tell a 10-32 from a 1/4 -28 by sight.
You would think that.
Just send both then have them send the other one back.. 🙃
Ah, the joys of dealing with other people's engineering changes...
Almost sounds like Leigh Nielsen is not wanting to make it easy for aftermarket tuners

No comments on how beautiful you are? Come on!!! Cheers James
You are especially beautiful todat
Well, thats just a screw-up by lee-Nielsen
You Are beautiful ❤
Using brass for a part that sees mechanical stress? Yeah, looks pretty but, really?
Algorithm tweaking...
And this is why Metric is so much less pfaffing around......
These are metric. Other than the threads all the measurements are metric
@@WoodByWrightHowTo I realise your upgrades are Metric, I was referring to the origional parts having imperial threads and not being consistant.
it could be the same in metric. they just went up a size as they wanted a larger rod so as not to bend as easly.
Lie and I do mean lie as in falsehood is too yuppie and snobbish
Sorry. I am missing the question here. Sorry
