You can go into any polluted area and put a water pump on the ground and get polluted water, it does not have to be IN water. I have them setup in a 160 zone, and it may be because i dont have them IN water, they are just on the ground, but they ONLY pump polluted water
Your whole base does not have to be in a heavily polluted area to do this. You only need a portion of your base in ANY level of pollution to gather the poluted water. You don't even have to live near water at all. Just stick the pump on the ground. No 125+ pollution needed. Your pumps HAVE to be in the polluted area.
I did the math last night, and I think the ratio to max out a purifier is 10x pumps/1x purifier/16x fermenters. The manual process moving the impure acid from the purifier to all the fermenters is a real PITA though... As for the sea water you are getting, move your pumps out of the sea water. They only needed to be in any polluted zone. The pollution level doesn't matter. But since they are in the sea water, then I think the sea water is taking priority in some cases.
Make sure you change it to 16 fermenting SLOTS, each one has 4 internal slots so youd only need 4 barrels. it will save everyone alot of wasted acid building the barrels :P
Just for some information, I have My pumps in a Polluted area that is only 12 pollution, it does not bother me at all, I get tons of polluted water, I also have 90% of my base outside of the pollution so that I can also get Dirty water as well to make the acid. Super easy, you do not have to have High pollution at all.
if you stick them on land in poluted zones close to water you will only get the polluted water for impure acid and not the other types of water... there are several places where your base will be in both zones for pullutes on one side and dirty pn the other to pump a couple strasight water to get alot of purified water
Hey Question i hooked up the pipes to the thing i needed but the water pump wont go into the stuff even tho i connect pipes i even moved the smaller pumps around and still flowing the wrong way
This would be super cool if the fermentation barrels weren't so damn inefficient. They put out 1 acid every 20 minutes, in that time I can run through town and get 60-100 acid from high level enemies :/
i wish they opened the game up to everyone. I'm also at a lack of content but i like the pve with friends. if new people keep coming and sticking around i'll keep playing

Raise your polluted water pumps higher, you can adjust height and they will still pull water, that way you can eliminate your smaller pumps

i think it's based on sea level. any pollution at all, even at 0, seems to work.

I can confirm this, was having no luck in 125 polluted Zone placing in the water, when i moved my pumps to land, polluted water is all i get now.

The skill is acid to sulfur, not the other way around.
