Had my 50in Samsung all of a sudden have this issue. I found those video after some online searching and a year or so later it STILL works!!!!!! Saved me the cost of another tv at least in the short term. My tv is only 2 years old smh. Thanks for the video!!!
You are incredible! I saw the trick with the tape and had been able to fix my backlight from flashing by covering pins going into the mainboard. I couldn’t get picture though, I didn’t realize there were more ribbons and pins going into the panel under the speakers until this video! Very optimistic I can fix it now. Thank you so much!
Thank you for posting this repair video. This scotch tape method worked on my Samsung UN55KS8000FXZA that kept boot cycling. I did this initially and it did not work. I knew I had a good power supply, but was not sure about the main board and led panel. I went ahead and installed a new main board and no change. I did not find any burned resistors on the led panel. Went back to scotch taping along the 2 connectors on the main board. Tried a few different sections and then all of a sudden, voila! For anyone out there with a Samsung and who has tried almost everything, try the scotch tape method again on various sections. You may get lucky! It’s worth a shot and costs zero dollars!
Man it worked ! I almost gave up . So many pins to tape , and the tape was sliding but it worked in the end . No lines or anything either . Found the exact contact to tape off . I folded the tape over the top so it would stay in place when sliding the connector in and out . It happened exactly after 3 years . I was close to buying the same model and just switching the back cover panel with the serial number and then return the faulty TV and keep the new one and get my money back . It’s gonna fall back on Samsung anyway and not the shop that’s selling it . Glad I didn’t have to do that . Samsung needs to do better ! 3 years is not acceptable for a tv . Needs to last longer IMO
my tv broke the same and I had exactly the same ideea to buy one and swap in the same day, but I can’t find anywhere the 58 inch size any more.my tv broke after 2 years now I am going to try this taping method tomorow, too bad they don’t sell that size any more arround here.
Holy. I was skeptical but it worked. I resurrected a un50au8000 tv with a bootloop using tape. TV was about heading for the dumpster. Thanks; your video is well explained and it help saved my TV.

I HAVE A BIG THANK YOU AND A QUESTION! Thank you so much for posting this fix. My "Just out of warranty" UN58TU7000FXZC had the symptoms you indicated. By following your instructions I was able to tape 3 tracer contacts which gave me back my TV, no lines, but I do have more purple, red, pink hues on the left side of the screen. For example a blue car will be green on the left and blue on the right, however some shows look good as before, so liveable. If I was to carry on and keep moving the tape do you believe I could potentially get back everything to normal? In my notes, I'm at "position 14" and so happy to be where the TV is at now, but could I improve on it if I keep moving locations? Should my tape be narrower to cover only two tracers? In any case, thank you very, very much!
Update: I'm now using two separate single tracers. This seems to have lessened the purplish/pinkish hues on the bad side, but they are still there. What I do not understand is why some apps appear totally unaffected by this bad area and others are.
@@SOSfixElectronics Thanks for the reply. That's what I ended up doing. Interesting too is that I found out that some documentaries on RUclips also have nice displays, while others have this colour problem. So I can live with that for now. usually this way works on horizontal line. the vertical linked to the bottom COF, genteelly press on the COF edge to the board or to the screen when the tv is on and see if the line will go, if it dose you may apply a rubber piece to the area that causing the line

I fixed my UN75NU800 TV, thank you! I only needed to tape off 1 pin of the left flex cable to get it work. However, there is a horizntal line running across the screen. Is this something can be solved by finding more problematic pin or this is probably the best we can do?
Just got my Samsung tv diagnosed at a repair shop and they said it was a short in the LCD panel assembly and it would need to be replaced (very high quote). I’m about to just toss the tv but found this video. Would this trace tape possibly do the trick? I’m willing to try.
Great video!! I have this exact model and having the exact issue. I am going to try this method, but is it possible to purchase just the flex cables from somewhere and replace them so there isn’t a bright dot on the screen? Thank you!

I got a new one for you... Samsung un75ru7000... Plug it in and you see the Samsung logo and it comes on and it keeps looping.. but at the same time sometimes it comes on all the way to where you see the apps popping up at the bottom.. I cannot find any problem everything's seems to be at the right voltage.. but there's a kind of a halfway buzzing halfway clicking more of a buzzing though coming from the power board and when the TV is on and going through the loop, the back lights seem to flicker not not really a full flicker but kind of you know you can kind of see a little bit of it getting brighter and it goes along with the buzzing sound coming from the power board I mean I'm thinking of just replacing the power supply but I can't find any problem? Have you seen anything like this?

Holy shit, I just did this and fixed my issue!!! Unreal. However, I can't get the lines at the top of the screen to go away... I tried moving the tape to cover the connections, but nothing.
I like your videos they are good. I have a 70 inch sharp tv model number LC - 70LE660U .The tv turns on the back lights but they want turn off with the power button. I was wondering if you have ran across this problem.
If your TV back lights don’t turn off it’s probably to do with your power button unit. My tv has a power button and a signal receptor for the remote together. Make sure you have good connection in the wiring from the power bottom to where it leads. If you know how to use a multimeter see if you have continuity in the wires. Good luck!
I have a 50" samsung qled tv that would power cycle. Back lights are good, when i disconnect the only ribbon cable from the main board to the board on the bottom of the tv panel the tv turns on with sound but no picture. I did the tape trick and i can only get it to turn on with sound but no picture. Any other remedies i can try?
Update: I got most of it working! I think one of the embedded drivers in the ribbon cable is a little fucked, however the TV now works thanks to you! I've got distorted reds on the left side of the screen, with some black lines, but they're not bad enough to make me want to get rid of it
So, at 8:40 you say that you will start covering traces... Big ones are power lines and small ones data lines, then you cover a big one. But at the end you covered both on a data lines. What does this means? The problem can be on both lines ? Power and data? And you just have to be patient and cover every line until it works ? And last, at the very end you show how on black screen it can see a white spot where the shortcut is.... Is the best can be done ? Or there is a way past that to make it 100% perfect.
Holy shit this actually worked on my samsung 70" UE70TU7100K . I have very faint lines running across the entire screen still but i cant be bothered to open the tv back up to try and get it any better, its good enough. Thanks for the video.
I am dealing with simmilar one now 50tu8000. It was reseting itself and i tried to play with the tape and got some pictures and the weird now is that i have full picture without any tape on the ribbons. I have no idea how that happened but i do have few horizontal lines which still cannot clear. Any ideas please
i have 50tu8000 3 y.o. after 2 years lost picture then 5 days later picture came back on with no tape on ribbons , then lost picture again after several months and then after 3 weeks picture again came back on , i also have no idea why this happens ?
could be anything except the screen, disconnect power board from the mainboard to see if the backlight turns on and stays on. if yes it should be the mainboard issue
Got a 70" Samsung TV doing the same thing. Found that if I cover pin 12 on the top ribbon cable the TV will turn on, but 3/4 of the screen has very dull color. If I leave the TV on, disconnect the ribbon to remove the tape, and reconnect the ribbon, the tv reboots and the picture is perfect. If I turn it off and back on, it returns to the same loop and I have to start the process all over.
You can’t remove the tape. Even if it might solve the issue temporarily the tape has to stay on because you have a bad connection there it’ll keep doing the boot loop without the tape.
Hi, I have 50inch TU8000, by using this method I found 2 pins/traces that I can cover for my tv to even start. So, I can cover any of them (one or the other or even both) and it will be on, but no picture for any of them. Do you have any advice on how to get any picture? Like, I can try covering more besides these two, but I don't seem to get any picture. Also, if I cover any without covering at least one of these 2 traces, the TV keeps restarting.
@@SOSfixElectronics I tried covering other as well but I got no picture. Interesting, there is a flat cable that goes directly to the main board and I tested a bit with that, but only got few lines visible when I cover some of the traces. I don't know what's the difference between these 2 cables.
Ok, figured it out. In my case, it had nothing to do with that flat cable (brown-golden one connecting two halves of the screen leds), but the one going to the main board. And I had to cover *only one* pin, which was about 15th or so.
@@Dengurii Hi. How did you managed to find that out? You have tried brown-golden cable on both sides, all pins, one by one? Fighting with same issue - can't get it done. Found 1 pin on left side closing which stopped the cycle reboot, but still can't get the picture back.
@@Evgeny_Trubitsin yes, you don't really to try both sides as it's the same on both just mirrored. Disconnecting the flat cable connecting the main board to the smaller led board stopped the rebooting so then I kept covering groups of 4-5 pins on that cable until I found the right one
Hi mate. I was having the same problem on my samsung ue43tu7005kxxc and i managed to put the tape on the right place but now i dont have any backlight.. Are the LEDs fucked too or is it something else? Thank you
Dear friend what about if a similar Samsung power on showing everything ok on the screen, after 5” the display fade off showing some colored pixel, then the tv restart showing everything fine and afrer 5” fade away the screen…..like a loop
Hey thanks for this video!! I managed to get clear image but the very left side of the TV is with a black stripe/block - vertical one. I am trying different combinations but it always when there’s imagine there’s the black block. Any help on this one please? 🙏🏼
Vertical lines are due to bad connector from the panel to the screen itself (look like ribbon connectors on the bottom but permanently glued). Can’t be fixed unless you replace the correct connector which is very difficult without the right equipment.
I did the trick and marked 2 lines, but I still have 1 big vertical line in solid black over the screen, is that fixable with taping? or is that just the faulty screen
my tv back lights come on when i lift the tv on one side while it’s facing down. i touched the green strip on that side and the LED flashed on. what would that be?
Maybe someone can help me, I had the screen on my 70" Samsung flickering on n off,I assumed it's panel,I tested psb,n it's good. I unplug mainboard TV comes on to black screen but no picture or sound, led strips work fine, I tried unplugging each ribbon to each side of panel to see what side it is, but no change undoing each side. I can hit settings etc, but can see led straps flicker like it changes channel, but no display at all. Can anyone tell me what's issue. Has no t con board.

Thank you so much for this video!!! It helped me quite a bit but I’m a little stuck on another issue. My Samsung QLED Q70T tv was power cycling on and off when plugged in. I followed your troubleshooting process and got the tv to stay on. The issue I’m having now is that after 30 mins of picture perfect use the bottom of screen becomes fuzzy with a horizontal line. If I unplug the power cord from the tv for 30 seconds and retry, the picture is perfect for 30 mins. I’m wondering if the mainboard could be an issue as it warms up, or I need to try other pin combinations? I know I’lI have to spend more time on the ribbon pins but any suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks again!!
Hi mate. I have Samsung ue32d5520 the fault is I can not use tv buttons and no input display and no volume display but red light flickers when press remote control. Please let me know what fault it is. Thanks
I get Samsung smart logo then that's it screen light up but no other display for input or on volume the volume display do not come on screen and can not use buttons on tv. Thanks
There are many redundant parts in the ICs that do this timing and video output to the panel you may only have one of them bad that has four traces going to it and so if you can just cut that one out of the circuit then the rest will resolve the video and you can't tell the difference
@@JamesJackson-sp2kp Ya, I looked into it a bit further, crazy how that works. It can degrade the color in part of the display just a little but ya way better than it not working at all
Great instructions! Have a 2 year old 50 inch CU8000 with this problem. The screen started looking like a black cloud descending from the top and then finally picture went and TV restarts repeatedly. Took it apart. What do I have to lose? Just use standard electrical tape?
How exactly is it not a mainboard issue when you disconnected it from the mainboard & it turned on? That would make me think that it was in fact the mainboard causing the issue considering it only happened when the mainboard was connected.
So many Samsung customers around the world having the same issue. This raises the question why don't Samsung do anything about it?

Good luck!
To make it easier on yourself - try have a mirror under the tv, you don't have to look down.
I have a 50" samsung qled tv that would power cycle. Back lights are good, when i disconnect the only ribbon cable from the main board to the board on the bottom of the tv panel the tv turns on with sound but no picture. I did the tape trick and i can only get it to turn on with sound but no picture. Any other remedies i can try?
check my other videos there is other ways to try
Thanks!
thank you bro
I was about to give up and get rid of my TV that has this exact problem, you are a fucking legend, I’m going to try this again and see if it works
Update: I got most of it working! I think one of the embedded drivers in the ribbon cable is a little fucked, however the TV now works thanks to you! I've got distorted reds on the left side of the screen, with some black lines, but they're not bad enough to make me want to get rid of it
@@james2396 just keep going it's probably just 1 more trace to block from circuit
is there any special tape needed?
So, at 8:40 you say that you will start covering traces... Big ones are power lines and small ones data lines, then you cover a big one. But at the end you covered both on a data lines.
What does this means? The problem can be on both lines ? Power and data? And you just have to be patient and cover every line until it works ?
And last, at the very end you show how on black screen it can see a white spot where the shortcut is.... Is the best can be done ? Or there is a way past that to make it 100% perfect.
yes try like 5 traces a time. yes thats only repair can be done
Holy shit this actually worked on my samsung 70" UE70TU7100K . I have very faint lines running across the entire screen still but i cant be bothered to open the tv back up to try and get it any better, its good enough. Thanks for the video.
I have the exact same tv as you!!!....I am trying this right now!! 😂

I had the same problem and your solution worked! But now one side doesn't show blue colours. Is there a way to fix that?
What kinda tape you using??? I’m going to try and fix my tv
any
I am dealing with simmilar one now 50tu8000.
Did you remove the tape from the left side?
Is there tape on both sides, or just one?
one side
What is the problem if when I i disconnect the ribbon in one of the first steps and it still loops on and off?
could be anything except the screen, disconnect power board from the mainboard to see if the backlight turns on and stays on. if yes it should be the mainboard issue
I have the exact same issue as this person with. Could somebody please give some possibilities to why this is happening and how to fix it!?!
Same issue here
You can’t remove the tape. Even if it might solve the issue temporarily the tape has to stay on because you have a bad connection there it’ll keep doing the boot loop without the tape.
You have a lot of patience
Will replacing the ribbon fix this issue?
I don't think so because you are blocking the signal from a tracer but if you try it and it works please let me know
Hi, I have 50inch TU8000, by using this method I found 2 pins/traces that I can cover for my tv to even start. So, I can cover any of them (one or the other or even both) and it will be on, but no picture for any of them. Do you have any advice on how to get any picture? Like, I can try covering more besides these two, but I don't seem to get any picture. Also, if I cover any without covering at least one of these 2 traces, the TV keeps restarting.
could be there is more traces needs to cover

Did you ever fix that? I got a horizontal line running cross the screen too 😂

my tv back lights come on when i lift the tv on one side while it’s facing down.
i touched the green strip on that side and the LED flashed on.
what would that be?
could be bad lcd screen
@@SOSfixElectronics i got the screen on and the tv to work but top half of screen is slightly darker than bottom.
I see that it works at a reduced capacity. Is there a way to get it back to 100% is there a reason why you cant replace that connector?
is not a connector is the screen it self bad
Maybe someone can help me, I had the screen on my 70" Samsung flickering on n off,I assumed it's panel,I tested psb,n it's good. I unplug mainboard TV comes on to black screen but no picture or sound, led strips work fine, I tried unplugging each ribbon to each side of panel to see what side it is, but no change undoing each side. I can hit settings etc, but can see led straps flicker like it changes channel, but no display at all. Can anyone tell me what's issue. Has no t con board.

Hello everyone. I was hoping someone could help me with my TV problem. My Samsung Qn65 model just keeps turning on and off and the remote is not responding. I can turn it on and off with the remote, that's it.
What kind of tape
the tv works on the left side. poor colors from repair I move the tape strip further further. without changes .like black and white light colors
hello i did put tape on pin 6 and 10 but my image do a little color flickering lite flickering .. image are perfect except this flickering , is someone have an idea thanks
flickering is more on the side i put tape on pin 6 and 10 like you did , a litr flickering image are perfect but color changed a bit every 1-2 sec

Thanks again!!
i think you still have some more traces to cover, that is the only option for that screen
@@SOSfixElectronics Thanks!!
Mine does NOT restart, just no picture, could it be the main board?
Prob led backlight strip
What is the reason for the light leakage and heating of the TV frame screen?
If I had to guess maybe bad resistors? Could cause heating if a resistor is about to fail. See if any resistors are swollen up. I could be wrong tho.
What kind of tape is that?
Used to cover the traces
My TV is doing the thing where the backlight flashes but then immediately turns off. That sound like a Mainboard issue?
So what’s the proper way to fix this? Without tape
replace the screen
its a shame for such a giant company Samsung that there most expansive and advance panel shorted..
Hi mate. I have Samsung ue32d5520 the fault is I can not use tv buttons and no input display and no volume display but red light flickers when press remote control. Please let me know what fault it is. Thanks
It's very hard to tell what exactly is wrong with it. You will need a multimeter and dig inside
I get Samsung smart logo then that's it screen light up but no other display for input or on volume the volume display do not come on screen and can not use buttons on tv. Thanks
I have a 55 and it’s not working :(
Why on earth would covering traces fix such an issue? VERY strange!
covering the traces that shorted or not working right
There are many redundant parts in the ICs that do this timing and video output to the panel you may only have one of them bad that has four traces going to it and so if you can just cut that one out of the circuit then the rest will resolve the video and you can't tell the difference
Just use standard electrical tape?
yes
Thank you! I now have a picture, but left side is darker. Not black, just darker. Going to keep trying. Amazing. Thanks again.
@@SOSfixElectronics
I'm getting a good picture except for too much magenta on the side that was originally darker. Any suggestions?
@@SOSfixElectronics
How exactly is it not a mainboard issue when you disconnected it from the mainboard & it turned on? That would make me think that it was in fact the mainboard causing the issue considering it only happened when the mainboard was connected.
Main board is sensing a problem in the led's and shutting it all down. This is a trick to fool the board.
@@flacoanemico5199 Ah I see. Good to know!
