Drifting the Stick Shift Go Kart Until the Jets Clog

  • I tried a burnout, wood blocks spilled a thing of oil all over my driveway, the kart, and me. Then I did an awesome drift around my coldasac until the jets clogged again and it stopped running. Anyone have any ideas of how to prevent this? Bigger jets? I have 2 fuel filters and my air filter is clean.

    Lmao your getting to much fuel and bogs out and dies at high Rpms

    Add a better fuel filter, clean the Jets with a wire, higher octane gas, should be a good way to help prevent it.

    You could have covered the wheels in oil 😂👌🏼
    Btw, you should make a gokart fail comp

    Are you able to tell what the Jets are clogging with? Also using a a drill bit to clean a jet will make it bigger, so it might be too rich now. If you want to clean a jet without making the hole bigger use a tiny strand of wire, and a air compressor. I would suggest making sure that your tank doesn't have any rust or other junk. Also make sure your spark plug isn't fouling.

      Not sure what the jets are clogged with. I just look through them and the hole looks small until I clean it then it looks regular sized. I have cleaned the jets with a small wire several times. The main is a 97.5 and the pilot is a 17.5 which i thought was a little small, so this time I drilled them out to see if it would change anything. I only went up 1 thousandth of an inch. Now it only really runs well in the high rpm. Maybe the smaller jets was better. Spark plug is still black though. Ill try cleaning the tank. Still needs to be tuned, but the jets clogging is my main concern right now.

      Japanda Tuning Yeah check the tank, and the lines make sure no junk is getting through. If that's not the problem I'd suspect there's some junk in a small passage of the carburetor that keeps working its way into the Jets.

    Try a fuel filter

    0:45 I think it's very funny because I think its something I would do and post it like when I was making the video of my lifan 200cc I dropped a bottle of bmw oil the is like 20 dollars a liter

    I want to see this thing run correctly so bad. I have never encountered your problems so I have no good input. The second it does happen though I'll do my best to figure it out and let you know.

    hahahahaha!!! dork move to start the vid! I love it!!. try a fuel filter between the gas tank and carb.

    I would definitely wrap that header pipe. Burnt my leg too many times on motorcycles

    You need a gas filter maybe and I run one one dirt bike and never had that problem

    Before you turn your kart off turn the gass of and let it dry out

    I don't understand why your jets would get clogged. Surely you would be wise enough to use a filter. Plus with an air cold engine you don't want to lean out your AF mixture always stay on the rich side. How do you have your fuel tank setup as far as fuel pickup?

      There are two filters on it so that's prolly not the problem tbh

    Awesome mate. I'll ask some of my mates about your jet problems. See what we can come up with. Cheers mate 👍

    Can u make a video where you just gun the kart and go into the highest gear? Top speed?

      If I can find enough space...I hit 50 mph in 3rd gear and didn't even rev it all the way. It has 5 gears btw.

    Ayee nice kart I'm building one similar with a 4 speed. It's actually very similar how you built the gears and pull arm but I have a 420cc

    What type of fuel filters are you using and where are they located. Also are they large enough for the engine different fuel filters will flow different amounts of fuel. Also the micron of the filter determines the size of particles it will catch and let through. Trying to remember are you running the carb that came on the engine or did you put an after market carb on it?

  • @jvbooboo935

    The reason your jets keep clogging up is cuz they're too big you need to put stock Jets back in it and if that doesn't work you need to go one size up

    What fuel are you unning 10% ethanol 93 or ethanol free same octane if so the ethanol well water actually is causing the carb to corrosion in the carb clogging your jets ive had the same problem for the past 6 months and last month from changing the fuel filter over and over again as well as constantly ceaning and running it and fuel theough it solved if you arent running a fuel filter i would do so

    • @JapandaTuning
      @JapandaTuning  7 лет назад

      I am running 93 just from the gas station that I fill up my car with. Could you explain a little better what you mean please?

    • @rncboy2
      @rncboy2 7 лет назад

      Most of your pump gas has ethanol (alcohol) in it witch is preatty much water at that point so your burning water in your gas at that point you can buy ethanol free gas witch is straight gas that is usually either 89 octan 90 93 thats whats recomended for these engines if you keep runing the ethanol gas in it use fuel stabilizer

    • @rncboy2
      @rncboy2 7 лет назад

      Witch is 10% ethanol search local gas stations eith ethanol free gas

    Inline fuel filter and get air filter lube to prevent dust going in the carb might help

  • @builtbybaz5774
    @builtbybaz5774 7 лет назад +1

    +1 on the inline filter, I would say the tank should be mounted above the carb for gravity fed systems, looks like a lot of air in the lines

    • @JapandaTuning
      @JapandaTuning  7 лет назад

      then the tank would be just randomly 2ft in the air... its not like I have a roll bar to mount it to

    • @builtbybaz5774
      @builtbybaz5774 7 лет назад

      At very least, the outlet on the tank and the inlet on the carb should be similar heights :)

      Has a fuel pump doesn’t really matter. If his fuel pump is pushing enough then it doesn’t matter where in proportions his return is to his inlet

    Use an inline fuel filter there is a link to them

      Really you want a clear one then you know if it's getting dirty and when to clean it
