One of my favourite scenes - when I watch it as grow up it makes me cry somehow since we don´t have many people being as honest and couragous as Friar Tuck, fightin for the right thing when it´s necessary, even as a man of the church. He was defending the poor regardless of his own good. And I think that´s great and makes him a role model figure in this Disney movie.
BTW: If you like watch it in german. This scene was synchronized very well and his rage against the sheriff gets more obvious.

This scene definitely feels like like it got hit by the budget issues the movie had. Look at the awkward cut from them going outside to suddenly having weapons as they're fighting.
Fight scene was probably meant to be much longer.

Wow this movie brings back fond memories...didn't think life would be like this movie until I grew up.. were Prince Johns a prick because he wants Robbin Hood From Stealing gold from him to give to the poor. Why our goverment steals from us,but there is no Robbin Hood. And sooner or later, everyones going to live poor like the movie.. Never knew at a young age that this is what goverment and politions were like...either that or just too young and nieve to know.
Friar Tuck would have had that fight if it wasn't for the vulture...
