I think that the boy died from falling out of the tree fort in the end of the game. That is why he wakes up in a forest in the beginning of the game. This is a story about a boy in purgatory. He died before he could find out about his sisters death, so he’s like a lost soul, I talk about the sisters death later. He must find out how she died before he can go to heaven. The reason why he has glowing eyes is because he’s “lost” but his sister is already in heaven. Back to the purgatory idea, the spiders, the wild people, the city, and the dark are all representations of his fears that he must face before he can go to heaven. When he crosses the boat in the beginning, that is him entering purgatory. At the end, I believe that the window breaking is the car crash that killed his sister. When the boy fell out of the tree, they had to rush him to the hospital, and as doing that the car crashed, sending the boy flying out he window. The girl is dead and knows how the boy died so she isn’t “lost”. When the boy sees the sister, he comes to the realization that she’s dead, that is why he is hesitant. That’s my idea, I’m probably wrong and/or missing a lot, so please correct me if you want.
I’ve never seen anybody talk about this in a theory, but there’s a scene where you have a maggot in your head and it forces you to walk to the right where you see the girl underneath the tree house but the light forces you to walk left because of the maggot, and once the maggot is removed the next time you go to the right she’s not there and the story continues. I wonder what this means?
I think the theory that she got sick holds a lot of water because throughout the game you kill egg sacks you stomp on them like your character doesn't like them
I think he’s living in exactly what “Limbo” is synonymous with: Purgatory. I think he has to face all his fears, bad adults, bear traps, spiders, etc.) until he’s permitted to go to heaven. All his fears are childlike in nature, and he can’t swim so it makes sense he is no older than 10. I think at the end, his sister was at his grave, and when she turned her head, it was because she felt his ghost as he passed into the afterlife, and felt peace. I think his sister is still alive btw, that’s just my take on it. It took me hours upon hours to get that achievement for beating the game in under 5 deaths so I had a lot of time to ponder.. anyway love the vids Jord!! Maybe the end was him reuniting, and I only say this because if you look at the games startup page, there are 2 groups of flies right there, one for the sister and one for the boy. Yep. Right at the end of the game where you meet the sister. To me, this seals it and proves they’re both dead.

The Website where I bought LIMBO said that the little kid was uncertain of the fate of his sister so he has to go through the horrors of LIMBO. So basically, the kid lost his sister in the woods and now he's trying to find her.

There are some VERY obscure mysteries that may potentially connect Inside with whatever Playdead's third game will be, and these mysteries, puzzles and ciphers need some coverage.

(Which was perhaps their favorite spot to be when they were alive)
As for their bodies, they’re probably both laying by a tree somewhere in the woods. Maybe they died due to a bear trap or starved to death. It kinda reminds me of the short: ‘Missing Halloween’ (If you haven’t seen it before you should watch it sometime. It’s really good!) In fact, now that I think about it, they actually feel pretty similar to each other, like with how they both don't have any talking in it. (besides a few sounds at the end)
I think the game is a more abstract interpretation of the world of Inside, although it has some symbolism of purgatory and the afterlife. I think it might be a prequel to that game, following the same boy trying to find his sister. In the sequel she is his enemy but eventually helps him in his quest to free the slaves and destroy the society that uses them.
Don't hate on me because I didn't watch the video yet but I think maybe there was a big rock under the tree house and he fell off the tree house and smashed his head on the rock and died. At the end of the game his sister could be burying him and his ghost came back to her. Just a theory so Idk.

Notice two, distinct swarms of flies at the base of the tree? those are the decaying corpses of the brother and sister. I think it may only be visible once you've beaten the game, but it's pretty telling as to the fate of the boy and girl.
I like the theory, but I feel like it's missing something. I have played through the game probably 10+ times (from start to finish in 1 setting) because it's my favorite indie game ever. I have also invested many hours into finding all the easter eggs, completing the secret way and doing the game in 5 deaths or less. This has given me time to think about the game, and even though it's many years since I played it, I can't forget this game. That's how amazing it is! Before I write my thoughts, I don't want to make my own theory because I have seen so many out there, and it's way to confusing for me to make it on my own, but with help, it could be achieved. In your video, the theory does miss the few persons that the boy encounters, if they are dead or alive, enemies/bullies or not. It's hard to choose what theory to believe in, because every of them misses something. I see you mention the mechanical works of the game, but I feel like it's not representated enough here. It's so much of it when getting over the halfway point in the game, and they are scary and deadly, how would you explain that in detail in this theory, or another one if you want? Another question I ask myself is the electricity and and guns, I can't stop but believe that especially the electricity has something to do with the game, as it is so dangerous, that and the guns that does appear. As of with the magnet and gravity, I'm not sure what to think, and the secret way makes me think you get in to the boys darkest and scariest place possible, he knows and sees nothing, but only hears life treatening sounds etc. When he first gets through it, onto the elevator, the music gives you some form of hope. We have seen that before, hope being completly crushed, where a maggot stops him from reaching his sister the first time, or the beautiful music suddenly being interrupted with scary scenes upon entering the secret hard route. I need an explanation to that as well, which I don't really see many places. Some questions I have to mention that I find nowhere answered: in the halfway point, when you meet the fly or mosquito that is trying to rest, it is completly opposite of everything else, it doesn't want to hurt you at all, it is afraid of the boy, not the other way around. Still the boy uses it for his advantage, and actually hurts it. This to me is a part I never forget, and it is just so sad. Does someone have any answer to this? Last thing: I can't help but think that Limbo and Inside could be like a multitheory answer thing or something, but that would definetly need more research.

It is either payback for something, or, according to theory where boy needs to get through his trials to exit Limbo, those boys are probably stuck in Limbo like he is, and their goal is to kill boy to go through their trials. They are maybe boy's fear, those older boys were maybe bulling him. We know that older boys may be other people in Limbo, or just his fears like spiders. - LIMBO, it means "edge" or as some people like me call it "edge of hell". If you remember false endings in game, we can somehow tell that story of Limbo Developers told us about (boy searching for his sister) is not true. It is probably one of those lies. I think boy was trying to get out of hell, "edge of hell" think about it. Older boys, spiders and traps were trials, which you need to complete in order to get out of hell/Limbo. After glass breaking scene, there are three things that could have happened. 1. Boy escaped hell/Limbo, and entered reality or heaven. Girl in that scene is maybe his sister, or just normal human from that reality or heaven. 2. Boy still did not escape Limbo/hell, his final challenge is that girl, or maybe his sister. He needs to kill het to get out of Limbo/hell. Girl was waiting for him, to kill him, because girl wants to escape Limbo/hell too. And their task is to kill each other, and winner gets out. In this theory, they could kill each other, but if they are brother and sister, they will not kill each other, but they will be stuck in Limbo/hell for enternity. 3. Boy appears as a ghost or in human form behind girl, girl realizes he is there, boy is there. Boy escaped Limbo, but he broke unbreakleable glass, which is border between Limbo/hell and reality or heaven. Girl realized what he did. This was mine theory, there are 3 ending of mine theory. I like third one the most, because that would make interasting after story for Limbo. Developers will never tell us what ending of game means, because there is no true ending, everyone have their endings and perspections on Limbo.
WAIT... The other dimension the boy is in, (I'll call it coma dimension) He was still in C.D when the Sister climbed out! Meaning the sister may have climbed up to the real world and was saved from death, That also means the boy is still in a coma

In order for the boy to reach heaven he had to reunite with his sister, who was also trapped until she found him. Theory 2. The boy is dead, and he’s in an alternate universe. He died but wished to see his sister again before he moved on. Everything in the world the boy is in, is the darker, more dangerous and creepy version of the normal world. The boy was a ghost which is why he’s the only one with glowing eyes. Once again the enemies are still his fears and the boys who tried to kill him at one point, could possibly be bullies that he faced in his life. He could’ve died in the forest after getting lost and starving, falling from the tree house we see at the end, or could actually have been murdered in the forest. Which then leads to the beginning, where he wakes up in the forest in a darker, dangerous and petrifying dimension. When he finds his sister at the end, she seems to be digging which could be something related to the boys grave. She doesn’t look at him because he’s not in her dimension. But she feels his presence and the game ends after he sees his sister for the last time, and she’s comforted after knowing he’s moving on.

Why is the sister shown twice in the game? Once at like 75% completion. Is it false hope? Or to show you are almost there. Once the parasite makes you go back, the sister is gone. And in place of her, is more level.
ok my theory is this:let's start with the children's family the father and mother lived in a serva house on a hill their parents worked in a Hotel and the children swimming but one day my brother went to the pool and the other children made fun of him and his sister for having such a dumb brother And they suffer from bullying because of that and their parents gave them a surprise like this is a house in the tree, the inseparable brothers were very excited by the surprise And then the parents went to work and the children rested from school and swimming so they stayed in their tree house the sister loved the butterflies she saw one on the Stairs and she ran there and slipped and the brother fell for her the sister crying because her legs were broken the brother falls her And he ran on a road yelling at his parents but in that a car ran them over and they died How they were the same age the brother thought that his sister would be there and I look for her that is my theory of the story thanks for listening :D
I have always thought that his sister dies and he was to young to understand that she was gone so he committed suicide and they were In purgatory so he went to find her.
What if the sister never liked the brother pushed him out of the tree house and was buryed him and while they were taking the sister to jail they got in a car accident he was doing all of his fears because he wasn't nice to his sister maybe and that could also be why she pushed him out so he has to go thru all that to go to heaven and he meets his sister at the end because the sister also died in a car acciden and she also went to limbo cause she killed him obviously and the sister failed at limbo she is going to hell and the brother was going to heaven. theory from another video : the boy died with his family..proof: his sister was bularing somebody,the boy woke up in a forest full of a creepy things: big spider,dural balls,a kids trying to kill him who are his classmates that they are older than him...creepy things are everything that he was fearing of them when he was alive...so he isn't alive he is between hell and heaven and should beat his fears..when he find his sister the story ends and take you to menu and there you see to deadbodies (flys are around them) that means: they died and we don't know if they went to heaven or hell note: the lights from sky in the game are from heaven

As per me I think he died falling from the treehouse and he is reliving his life to find out what happened to him. The finale is he seeing his sister next to his grave below the treehouse
Why is the sister shown twice in the game? Once at like 75% completion. Is it false hope? Or to show you are almost there. Once the parasite makes you go back, the sister is gone. And in place of her, is more level.
Finally a limbo theory
Limbo is the middle of heaven and hell in lots of religions. People who have been in commas have described being in a place just like the world limbo.

ok my theory is this:let's start with the children's family the father and mother lived in a serva house on a hill their parents worked in a Hotel and the children swimming but one day my brother went to the pool and the other children made fun of him and his sister for having such a dumb brother And they suffer from bullying because of that and their parents gave them a surprise like this is a house in the tree, the inseparable brothers were very excited by the surprise And then the parents went to work and the children rested from school and swimming so they stayed in their tree house the sister loved the butterflies she saw one on the Stairs and she ran there and slipped and the brother fell for her the sister crying because her legs were broken the brother falls her And he ran on a road yelling at his parents but in that a car ran them over and they died How they were the same age the brother thought that his sister would be there and I look for her that is my theory of the story thanks for listening :D

I have always thought that his sister dies and he was to young to understand that she was gone so he committed suicide and they were In purgatory so he went to find her.

What if the sister never liked the brother pushed him out of the tree house and was buryed him and while they were taking the sister to jail they got in a car accident he was doing all of his fears because he wasn't nice to his sister maybe and that could also be why she pushed him out so he has to go thru all that to go to heaven and he meets his sister at the end because the sister also died in a car acciden and she also went to limbo cause she killed him obviously and the sister failed at limbo she is going to hell and the brother was going to heaven. (It's kinda stupid but its just a theory well never really know)
I think that the boy is trying to drag his sister into “Limbo” (That could be why it is called the) all the other children are trying to stop him and at the end the sister stops because she feels her brothers presence
