    Thanks for the multiple shoutouts - I feel that you have a much better grip on the slowing down, reducing the amounts and enjoying what you have than me. I'm adding to my box rather than subtracting. LOL. But yes, that's my mantra this year! I hope I can follow through and really appreciate, enjoy and slowly reduce.

      Absolutely right about the comparison - and in the world of social media, we can easily be trapped by comparing ourselves to others. I love this community and having met people like you, because while we have formed a bond over a common love of fountain pens, we also embrace and learn from our differences. And it's only a few weeks into the New Year... we'll see what happens with the reducing and slowing down.

    Gorgeous colors this month - love them! Also, it's so nice to hear someone having similar thoughts about the Endless Regalia paper. I actually started my 2024 ink journal in an Endless Observer journal because I thought it would be interesting to try something new, but I had to switch out after only about two entries. The paper is great for just writing, but swatching is so hard because it really is so absorbent. I couldn't ever get to my ink drop quickly enough, so it would just soak into the paper fibers long before I could get it to spread out, and then the swatches took forever to totally dry down. I switched it to just a standard note and memory keeper, and now I'm loving it. Anyway, loved the video as always! 😍😍😍

      I had such high hopes for Endless Regalia but unfortunately it won’t do! It is great for quick notes but not for swatching like you said. Thanks for watching!

    Hello Karyna, again a great video- thanks for telling so many infos about the pens and ink. I can only shop online so I „collect“ all infos that I need to make a decision 😊
    I have a suggestion:
    You did a lot of ink explorations already- can you consider perhaps doing an exploration with „lighter“ inks (like the Rouille d‘Ancre, not necessarily pastel)? 😊

    Lovely line-up this month. Really like the Taccia Ume Murasaki, will add that to my ink wish list. I’ll be looking forward to your wrap-up with your thoughts on the Esterbrook vintage nib. I have my Botanical Garden inked up this month with Robert Oster African Gold and am using a vintage medium stub. Apparently, it was the inspiration for the journaler nib (I prefer the vintage version so far).

    I love your choices. I know we’ve discussed the shimmer in the past and the fact that some of our lovely pens dont handle it well. If you dare, I found that my sailor pro gear and 1911 pens handle the shimmer better than any I have tried in my whole collection!.. amazing

    I love your currently inked and you’ve inspired me to start my own ink journal! Do you write with all your pens until they’re empty or do you empty them of ink at the end of the month?

    • @KarynaLovesToPlan
      @KarynaLovesToPlan  11 месяцев назад

      I do my best to write with them until they're empty but I also try not to fill them completely full. If there is any ink left at the end, I will just empty it out.

    My Waterman Carene just arrived yesterday! I finally found one with a fine nib second hand for a great price. I had to order a converter which should arrive tomorrow & planning to ink it with Taccia Ume Murasaki after seeing your unboxing video. Can't wait!

      @@KarynaLovesToPlan once my converter arrived I cleaned the Carene (was purchased 2nd hand & still had an old cartridge in it) & inked it up with Ume Murasaki! It was a bit of a problem child the first day or so with ink leaking out of nib & feed. I was getting a tad discouraged since this was THE pen I've had my eye on for so long. Not sure if it just needed to acclimate or what sorcery was involved, but after it got over the altitude sickness or whatever was afflicting it, it has been perfectly behaved ever since. It does make me wonder if altitude is the issue (we're just shy of 5000 feet) because I had a similar situation with "burping" from my Visconti Mirage Mythos & then after a while, no more issues. Curiouser & curiouser. Happy inking!

    Wow, the Rouille d'Ancre looks really dark. All lovely inks and pens.

    • @KarynaLovesToPlan
      @KarynaLovesToPlan  11 месяцев назад

      I think that's partly the pen it's in - does not seal that well. The more I write with it, the lighter it gets. So I added a tiny bit of Vaness White Lightning and now it's perfect!

    • @oldladywithacamera
      @oldladywithacamera 11 месяцев назад

      Thing is, I like it when it's darker - ha. By the way, my son got me a "smart" t.v. for Christmas, but there's no way to like a vid on it as far as I can see. So, I have to look it up later on the laptop and give it a thumbs up. (if I remember)

    I’m new to all of this and immediately had to look up the Robert Oster x Desk Bandit “the great owl” ink. It is gorgeous! Unfortunately I am in the US and see that shipping from Australia is $50 😬 Are there any colors that you feel are similar that you’d recommend?

    Just bought a stub nib system for my Carene, so it is two pens in one now. Original nib is a Medium. Have you experienced any issues with the converter with yours Karyn ?? I have had a bit of leakage recently, but with a Cartridge there is never a Problem 🤔

    Wow your Leonardo MZG 2.0 is so juicy! 😮 I have a Leonardo MZ with a fine nib and I still haven't managed to get it to be that juicy. Do you recommend any particular ink?

    • @KarynaLovesToPlan
      @KarynaLovesToPlan  11 месяцев назад +1

      This particular BPC may be a bit wetter but I have generally found the nib on my Angel Skin to be quite wet.
      I do have two Leonardo MZ’s with EF nibs that write smoothly and with average flow. And one was with a shimmer ink!

    • @patriciadaibes
      @patriciadaibes 11 месяцев назад

      @@KarynaLovesToPlan The first ink I tried to use on the Leonardo MZ ef was Troublemaker Kelp Tea and it was impossible to write on. There was skipping and hard starting. I put Monteverde California Teal and it improved. Now I'm using it with a Pilot Iroshizuku and it looks perfect. Flow is great. Phew! I thought the problem was the nib.
