Well, in a universe were we think in a reason to everything that happened on season 8, we can question a few things... If the Night King knew where Bran was, why didn't he headed there to kill him first, as it was his only goal? Why Bran cared so much about Jon's true identity? (the Army of the Dead and th WW AND NK riding the Fucking Viserion were heading into Winterfell, but Jon needed the truth). Why didn't Bran or Ed sent a raven when he arrived Castle Black?
Well, Season 8 confirmed that Bran could see the future ("Why do you think I'm here") and that he was lying, because he was the one who said that he was living in the past after the end of the Long Night and after he traveled half of Westeros to become king. I really think it was a real political plot of the Three-Eyed Raven (a entity who passes his consciousness from body to body since the beginning of the WW probably) to get his control over their mankind.
He didn't sent a raven, because if Jon knew Bran was alive he would not go to meet Dany. He wouldn't even act like a king probably, not until Bran came. And if we do not have Jon and Dany interacting each other, we would not have that suicidal mission beyond The Wall that resulted in Dany's first big loss. Also, Jon's identity was only used to create an internal block in Jon & Dany's rommance, and that was used to let her unstable and expecting for betrayals from all sides. As great as the moment was, trading 'coolness' for realism should not even be a thing. Dany traveled 3000+ km within a very short time, even on a dragon that is impossible to do in such a short time. That is not even mentioning Gendry traveling an enormous distance by foot in the freezing cold. A story should not fall apart once you think about what is happening. A better alternative would be to have Bran follow them using his greensight powers and warning Dany right away when he noticed they were in trouble. That would've given Bran an oppertunity to be useful as well as making it far more believable.
