I feel as if lilac would actually ask zero how he had flight, since (from what i saw from his face expressions, he's more...cold and calmer since losing the war and went into hiding, and am new) flight is a useful tool...here's how i would have answered it (but its you channel, your rules): "Despite what you all saw, the ruby only gave me that power and the ability to create phantom's...the 'fakes' you saw, then the rest you saw was nothing more then pure, gurgling training from the Doctor's 'special' chamber's right before the war, that he constructed for me and gave special parts to metal sonic to improve him before the final battle....thus since then, i have been weakened by sonic and his...ally...."
