Just a suggestion on using a socket and extension to install a bearing like that would be to put the extension in the socket from the other direction so that it give you more surface area to keep from having to make sure that the socket lines up to the bearing each hit.
Taida support GY6 aftermarket parts big bore, big valve head, 4 valve head, cam, stroker crank. You can buy a complete engine case (Gy6 B-case) from them to go up to 232cc
The front tires were doing a lot of sliding in the dirt, you might improve the actual turning by just hanging some bigger wheels on the front. And making a longer pittman arm on the steering shaft might be easier than relocating the pivot on the steering arms at the spindles.
put your socket on the extension the other way around and you will have more flat area to drive in the bearings, it works with 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, and 1 inch!

They sell tons of aftermarket things for this yerf dog spiderbox gx150. Go to buggy Depot online they have a lift kit for the front it comes with new spindles and ball joints to re enforce the front end then it comes with front 4x4 bolt pattern hubs allowing you to put Atv tires and rims on the front and you can then get bigger coils for up front I got a 3 to 4 inch lift out of mine. The rear should already have 4x4 bolt pattern hubs you could take the atv tired off your project fourwheeler In your other videos and slap them on the back no modifications required! As far as the engine goes just some basic mods you can upgrare the carb to a larger carb that has bigger injection needles you can get a new cdi box that roves your rev limiter and also get a high performance ignition coil and spark plug. I've built several of these if you need any info on where to source these parts or info about the kart in general let me know I would love to give some information!
I felt like this engine was underpowered on my yerf dog so I swapped 2 tillotson 212's onto it, hopped them up a little and rebuilt the rear swingarm. The parts are beyond cheap, so dont be afraid. If u need a part seller for china bike stuff. I know a few companies.
Hey john and Ike I used to have a 150cc gy6 and I have a performance cam and big bore kit for it that’s used but I’m pretty sure still works fine all I did was put it back to stock let me know if you would like it I’ll ship you all my performance parts with the CVT roller weights
I have the same unit as this one i got it running. But was wondering is this thing supposed to have a petcock because gas runs out of the new carb and the old carb that i have. When it stalls out it recranks but not without screwing with the bowl screw on the carb.

Put a higher ride level on the front wheels and that will also help with the steering
I’ve been wanting to see more about this kart let’s see some more videos with it
Definitely broke in those new Vans Ike! Love the videos guys!
The trans case can be removed from motor if needed. Don’t tighten them to tight on the gears it will jam up.
You guys gave it about 25% lower gear ratio, decreasing speed, but raising torque & off road power. Now you need some knobby tires on back at least!
With that gearing you guys really need to put bigger tires up front and more aggressive out back. +1 for the Pee-Wee dance!
Very much agree with this. After the engine upgrades, it would be more responsive and nimble off road
There is a lot of upgrades for gy6 engines i have a moped with a gy6 that was originally a 49cc but i got a big bore kit now its 100cc
"I was expecting a lot worse..."
that's all the endorsement I need!!
I felt like this engine was underpowered on my yerf dog so I swapped 2 tillotson 212's onto it, hopped them up a little and rebuilt the rear swingarm. Cost less than an engine rebuild that would put me at 5-10 less hp than I have now. Would be interesting to see a good video of a gy6 build and rip though.
YUP, There is a big bore kit .. ENJOYED !!
Cool go kart 😎
U can put a big bore kit on that gy6 and aftermarket muffler too all on ebay and other sites
Y’all have no idea the market for these motors! Hahahahaha y’all are in for a surprise. Great motors and a HUGE aftermarket for them.
Another great video. I was cool seeing you guys at pate. Y’all are just as awesome in person as you are in the videos. I can’t wait to see what performance mods y’all do to the gy6 because I might do the same to mine. The turning radius on my adult sized go kart also sucks. Thanks for the amazing content.
How bout some knobby tires too. Maybe the front tires need to be a little bigger as well? Nice job getting it running, sweet deal for 150$.
Looks like it could use bigger front tires. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You should build a duelee 4WD for great traction in the swamp.just weld two rear wheels together!
You also need bigger tires in front to increase the ground clearance.
This is cool! i just bought one of these last year!
If you dont have a bearing puller jam a piece of white bread down in the hole use a socket backward square end first beat it in there with a mallet the bread will get bend the bearing and push it out bar soap works also so does grease but that's a mess job with grease
I have a manco helix with the gy6 150cc. It has built in reverse. Will hit 40mph stock
Now iam having a happy Monday😜😜😀😀👍👍👍👍👍👍
IMPRESSIVE OFFROAD FOR WHAT IT IS.
I talked to you at Pate's, great video, I just bought a Spiderbox and got it running, really interested in the reverse set up
Weird and metric? Ha ha. Is it not you that's weird for not moving on. Most countries moved over in the 70's. You'll get there on day! Great video as always. Thanks
We aren't most countries. We and most of our ancestors came to America because we didn't like how most countries are or were doing things. Those of us who support President Trump still don't like the way other countries are doing things, particularly where freedom of speech, gun ownership, immigration, and globalism are concerned.
@@theoldfartschannel3692 Make America Great Again William. Join the dark Metric conspiracy! Ha ha. It's just alot easier to divide by and measure, but you do you. As for all the other stuff you mentioned I will leave that to you Americans to sort out. Good luck with that!
There’s really no reason to go above 155cc (58.5mm kit)
Just drops in and with a nice big cam, high compression, larger valves and big carb they go really well. Boring the cases is a pain in the ass and 20cc ain’t gonna do jack.
I have always stuck with the drop ins and haven’t had a problem yet. Just be aware they get hot and drive them with sympathy.
John looks like a young Billy Joel
Edit: And now you have to get a new mechanic 10:42
