I just finished the job on my own toyota highlander. It took me 3 hours from start to finish. Your video was very helpful. BTW, this is not a beginner type of work. I would suggest taking it to your trusted mechanic.
Great video!! I am planning you pay to have a shop do this, but it is nice to know how if I need to do it myself. My 2014 highlander is no crank no start. I think it is the alternator. It just died today.
if the battery light comes on the dash..its the alternator for sure..you can tell cos when you drive with the lights on..all of a sudden everything on the dash and warning lights started to appear and plays up..and your steering wheel will lose power steering..means it will very hard to turn,,like is locked
I almost want to pay you. I’m using this video to do my 09 highlander tomorrow. Rented the tool, just don’t have a torque wrench. Is it only specific torque for the tire lugs? I can probably borrow one. Do you have a water pump video for the 3.5 SUV?
@@trackpalmer lost a few plastic clips for the panels but other than that everything went great. …well until I saw the Bushing in the LCA. Now I’m ordering the whole suspension assembly to replace outright. And also throwing a 1.5in lift in while I’m in there
9:08 I have a problem at this point in the removal of the old alternator. I removed the wiring harness from that bracket behind the alternator, but at the same time, two wires came disconnected and I didn't know from where. One is white and one is black. After getting everything reassembled, the car won't start.... Any ideas?
If I had to just change that oil hose that runs behind the alternator do you think I have to remove all the stuff you did or you think I can move the alternator enough out of the way to get it out and new one in
Good video but when I’m gonna have to do this to the wife’s highlander I’m gonna also replace the water pump and I’m guessing the thermostat is over there too so hopefully I won’t have to play on that side of the engine for another 150k+ miles
Hi, I have 2015 toyota avalon ruttling when start I took to rhe mechanic and he said yiu need new vvt actuator that coat a lot of money of labor and he recommended to change engine the car is fine and smooth no check engine light but ruttling when start what you recommend
I'm not sure what you mean by ruttling. If you mean rattling it depends and where the rattling is coming from. The mechanic should have explained the problem in detail. Even though you have non check engine light, get you vehicle scanned with an advance scan tool. A bad vvt actuator is not expensive and I have a video to upload soon showing how to replace them. There are many things that can cause a rattle. Some simple to fix and others more difficult
one BIG "NO-NO" after installing new alternator >DO NOT CONNECT THE "+" start the car and while car running connect the "+" why? -because this thing can have reverse polarity and may start in reverse you WILL BURN your Block Link Fuse part# (82620-0E030)

Just judge your torque. Or will be fine. I do not have a video on water pump. I might do one soon. Let me know how it went🫡

You said wires. Do they have connecting ends? Did you eventually replaced the alternator and reconnect the wire going to the battery?
Great video
Thank you. Hope you clicked the like button :)

Unfortunately you will have to remove all those things for working space.

Did it work?
How much antifreeze does it take to top off
Less than a gallon
