Yes, Yes, Yes!! Two musicians.who feel the music! This is not just brainy, experienced technicians performing notes! Philippe and John Charles, I would give you a hug if I were near you your music grips me so! Thank you for so sensitively performing this enchanting lied! I thoroughly enjoy what you both do. Meets my artistic hunger. THIS is what music should be. Hang "perfect notes" that do not communicate any emotion. You communicate perfectly and expressively. Fine technique and a beautiful voice! Musical line!!! (The visual is also engaging.) Thank you for this . . . discovered by my dear wife who appreciates you both for the same reasons that I do . . . you brightened our gray, drizzly Saturday and left us with transcendent music for a permanent beautiful memory! Sorry to be so lengthy, but this is SPECIAL!! This idealizes Schubert's music the way it must have captivated his original audiences . . . for musical/artistic pleasure! (Please ignore anyone who would have one complaint about this recording!) You are wonderful!! My wife and I are pianists. Can't say that I prefer the guitar accompaniment to the piano, but I DO love hearing you, John Charles!! Thank you! Mathieu, merci!
Dagegen klingt z.B. Polnisch in meinen Ohren gruselig - etwa beim Anhören der Oper Halka.
Thank you for this wonderful rendition. I love the way your voice sounds. it reminds me of the time i was singing Schubert's songs. I don't like to make comparisons, but your timbre is so close to Dietrich Fischer-Diskau. Take it as a compliment. Good luck in your career. By the way, i've enjoyed also your role in Mozart's Cosi Fan tutte latest production!
I tried figure out the guitar part, but years of ignoring music theory and moving to electic guitar are making this pretty hard if not impossible for me. This is such a nice and timeless version, I hope I can figure out - :).
Bravo from a pianist. Since a guitar is somewhat more portable than a Steinway, this actually could be sung on the water. Will your recording equipment fit in a canoe? Philippe's voice would attract more music-loving creatures than the voice of Tamino, or even Orpheus.
I just wish I could get hold of a copy of the album now, rather than merely renting it off Spotify. (Hey, I'm unashamedly old-school) This is an album which is truly under-rated.
Merci infiniment. Vielen Dank.
My absolutely favourite Schubert song......with guitar yet!! How wonderful!!

Ist das wunderschön gesungen, gefühlvoll interpretiert! Auch die Begleitung ist sehr gut!
Wonderful , I used to sing Lieder, & now play classical guitar so I know. . . this is excellent!
Uniqueness the greatest thing a singer has to offer. Thank you for being just that!
Merveilleux, bravissimo aux deux interprètes. Merci cher Schubert ; tu as su, aussi, choisir tes poètes.
Mit schöner Empfindlickeit, ausgezeichnet! Splendid!
Excellent musicianship from guitarist and singer both.
Excellent! One of the best lieders of Schubert' is here so wonderfully rendered: Voice, guitar, piano -all so esthetically effective!
Bravo.
Three minutes of pure bliss!
german is such a beautiful language.

Sooo...o... zu schön. - Dabei gibt es gar kein *zu*schön. - Min merci.
This is the best version that I’ve ever heard a Bass baritone sing. The others are too deep it ruins the song.
Sooo beautiful and the German pronounciation is so perfect and good.
Well done Philippe. I had never heard Wasser zu singen sung by a male voice before. Schwartzkop programmed it several times in her concerts.

@Jacques Monteyne Wow! Bien joué XD
I was just thinking this!

Do you maybe have the guitar tabs?
Hey, it's a song, not a secret. Come on!
