    I think it’s more about how long the clippers open with no guard that makes the real difference. With my JRL plus SC guards, I find that transition to be just like my masters from back in the day

    Andis guards system is the best! 0,1,2,3 and so on..no 1.5 guard..less steps, and guard durability is A1. Only issue is not many clippers can us the Double purple magnetic guards and I wish some of these brands would make a clipper that could without having to change the bracket

  • @CozBlendz
    @CozBlendz 8 месяцев назад

    In the beginning of my career I just used andis gaurds with fast feeds, but over time as I converted to cordless clippers I slowly learned the wahl gaurd system. At this point in my career I can cut with whatever gaurd given to me but I will say that the andis gaurds are easier to learn on. They have less steps and they grab the hair a lot better than wahl gaurds. SC guards and the babyliss premiums seem to give a thicker cut than most imo. Although the amount of teeth they have helps out. Some guards cut better on some textures than others, but once you find what works with you and what clippers you like to use in combination, you find yo groove fasho.

    Stylecraft clippers with the Wahl premium guards. You go with what works best and feels best for you. The Andis Master would be the best clipper on the market, if they would update that motor and quiet it down.

    • @ArabicReviewed
      @ArabicReviewed 8 месяцев назад +5

      Honestly if they just put that JRL motor in it, it 100% will be the best clipper. Or if they Oster Fast Feeds had a JRL style motor, it would be game over.

  • @jeremymestizo4834

    I 100% agree. and one other thing is the material used for the Andis Guard is way smoother too. I feel that the Stylecraft guards don’t slide as smooth. But they are good. I do prefer the Wahl System

  • @Mike-hy8cs
    @Mike-hy8cs 8 месяцев назад +4

    Stylecraft basically copied the andis guard system pretty well. The only issue to me is it isnt as smooth on the skin as the andis guards are. They use different materials. But stylecraft guards can fit on a majority of clippers whereas andis only works on certain andis clippers and oster clippers. But the stylecraft is thicker than the andis is.

    The part you pointed to is where it does not sit on the still blade for the StyleCraft. Andis guards sit right on the still blade. It's a small gap in the StyleCraft guard to the blade that causes that. I've noticed that as well. I'm trying not to buy the double magnetic guards they dropped that look like the Wahl guards. I use both even babyliss guards and I'm finding myself loving the babyliss premium gaurds. I see you fell in love with the new wahl trimmer..

    If the Andis Master is "supposed," to go from a 000 to a 1, you shouldn't even need a 1/16th Zero guard. The Zero or 1/16th guard was needed in the Wahl guard system because the Wahl blade lever open left a void between where it stopped cutting and the 1 guard with the Wahl blade lever closed started cutting. The same goes for the Wahl 1 1/2 guard. Before the half and 1 1/2 guards (as we call them) existed, most Barbers used either clipper over comb or detachable blades to get rid of those 2 lines. I always cut with 1 Wahl (zero gapped) and 1 Master (not zero gapped). I found out early that the Master lever open would take out the line left by the Wahl guard open and the Master open with the old Andis black 1 guard would take out the line left by the Wahl blade open with the 1 guard (before the 2 guard with lever closed). Then came the red Speed-O guards, and our problems were solved. That was the first guard system, to my knowledge, that had both a half guard and a 1 1/2 guard in their system. I stopped using the Masters at that point. I used those 2 Speed-O guards even after Wahl came out with there half and 1 /2 guard because both were so flimsy and prone to slipping off. I didn't start using the Wahl half and 1 1/2 guard until the premium guards came out. Around 2011 or 2012ish, I bought the Fast Feeds because everyone around me was using them. I purchased the purple magnetic guards to go with them. For those, you need the half guard and a 1 1/2 guard because that blade open, falls between a Master and Wahl fully open. I used the Spped-O guard as my 1 1/2 guard again, with those. If we're talking one clipper and one guard system to do a complete haircut, I prefer Whahl with the premium guards. If we're taking thee best 1/16th, half guard, I'd say the red Speed-O guard is the best, hands down. Its only downside is that it's brittle and breaks easily. But it definitely cuts the best, in my opinion.

    so the andis 0 guard can't fit on babyliss fxone lo pros?

    • @ArabicReviewed
      @ArabicReviewed 8 месяцев назад

      Not the double magnetic ones. The Andis single magnetic 0 guard can, but that one is not pointy teethed like the OG zero guard, but is smooth and curved like a Wahl half guard. It's basically the reason why they re-released the OG guard as not many people were feeling the shape of the 0 guard Andis had put out.
      Not many people have this on RUclips, but there was however a single magnetic Andis 0 guard that had pointy teeth like the OG guard, I paid $100 for two on eBay. It's on one of S Craft Blendz's videos. I don't know why they stopped making that as it was essentially the exact same measurements as the OG Andis 0 guard, sharp and pointy teeth to rake/collect hair properly. They discontinued this good product.

      the problem with the wahl .5 and 1.5 is they skip hair. They dont cut the hair flush they leave hair behind thats why on a good amount of hair textures you have to go over the hair multiple times before it gets it completely down.

    Jeezy, as a barber myself. This is a simple explanation, the Andis MASTERS are called MASTERS for a reason, there's level to this game. Just like there's barbers and there's MASTER BARBERS. As for Style craft they make good tools for every level. You just have to be honest with yourself and know where you feet in. You can't just be a level 1 barber and think you are going to pick up a MASTER clipper and make magic, you have to work your way to that level. Don't get me wrong I love Style Craft clippers, but people need to show respect when it comes to the Masters. Just like, you can't just get out of barber school and you want to start using HANZO SHEARS, you have to get to that level. Otherwise you'll cut your fingers right off.
