Dude. You were so thorough up until the last part and then you decided to solve without explaining what you are doing. 30 more seconds and this would have been the only video I needed. Did you have to go somewhere?
Thank you! I was getting stuck on the top cross section, but I was misunderstanding what to look for in that step. For those who are stuck on that step, you are JUST trying to get those four edge pieces flat with the center piece, you're NOT trying to put them in the right positions just yet. Once the edge pieces make a flat cross, that's when you know you can move on to the next step. Those next steps will reposition the edges into the correct points.
I figured out on my own already knowing how to solve a 3x3 but it took me a couple of hours as it was so confusing. I'm still finding the last layer a real pain.
Don't feel bad, keep practicing, one day can do it. I also couldn't solve the 3 by 3 one day, now I can solve it in 2 minutes. I also believe that I can also do better than that.
Okay so the first 2 layers are similar enough but the beginner's method I learned for the top layer is different and simpler. Let me explain: First, note the position of the edge pieces: If they look like a small L, or a sitting man, position them so that the man's head is looking at the top left corner piece. ⬜️🟨⬜️ 🟨🟨⬜️ ⬜️⬜️⬜️ (the color of white tiles doesn't matter) If it is a straight line, position it horizontally 🟨🟨🟨 And if no edges are yellow (considering your top layer is yellow) any position would work. Then repeat the algorithm F U R U` R` F` until you have a cross. Now that you have your cross: If one corner piece is yellow, position top layer like this: ⬜️🟨⬜️ 🟨🟨🟨 🟨🟨⬜️ If two are yellow, hold the cube so that the front face has a yellow corner on it. If none are yellow, hold the cube so that a yellow corner is on the left face. Then repeat the algorithm R U R' U R U2 R' until the whole top layer is yellow. Don't forget to position the top layer according to the instructions I wrote above. It usually takes 2-4 times to get the top yellow. Next, solve the corners. So you will most probably have a side with the corners in place, rotate the cube so that this side is in the back. If no corners are solved, it doesn't matter which side is in the back and you'll have to do this algorithm twice, after the first time you will most certainly have a solved pair of corners. The algorithm is R` F R` B2 R F` R` B2 R`2 By now you'll have everything solved except for the top edge pieces. To solve them, if you have a fully solved side, put it in the back and look at the unsloved edge piece in the front. If it goes left, use the algorithm F2 U R` L F2 R L` U If it goes to the right, replace U`s by U. And your cube is solved.
You dont make sense at all. Definitely not simpler, you said: If you have NO YELLOW, then hold the cube so that a YELLOW CORNER that WE DONT HAVE is on the left face. Disregard your little "simpler" method.
This is best video that shows the easiest way to solve Mirror cube, of course you should know how to solve normal 3x3 cube first. I don't know why people are commenting bad about it.
The Cubicle sells a 4x4x4 mirror cube now. It's 3D printed extensions attached to a regular 4x4x4. I really want it, but it's huge (83mm) and kinda pricey at $45. As soon as someone mass produces a 4x4x4 mirror or ghost cube, I'm on it.
