Teardrop awoke in the afterlife, mist swirling over her. Have I died? Or is this just another dream? She was askew with confusion. Dewdrop slowly walked over to her, arriving from the mist with her head hanging. Teardrop’s heart stung, and she tried to stop herself from narrowing her eyes and threateningly baring her teeth.
“I’m so sorry..” Her voice quivered, and her eyes misted with grief and guilt. You’ve saved nobody. You have barely helped me. Everyone is dead and if it weren’t for you warning me late, everything would’ve been okay! Teardrop slammed her fist into the side of Dewdrop’s head, knocking her to the ground and sending her tumbling across the frosted ground. She stayed silent, but Teardrop could see the weakness and alarm in her eyes. A bruise lay where she was punched, and she rubbed it with gentle but quivery strokes. It’s your fault! She shoved Dewdrop to the icy, cold ground once again as she struggled up. Dewdrop laid still, her eyes squeezed shut as frosted clouds flowed out of her mouth in every breath. Teardrop stared down at Dewdrop, freezing in shock as she was afraid she’d hurt her too much. I’m sorry. It all came to her. That it’d felt wrong to hurt someone that had already suffered a death. Teardrop backed away, horrified at herself. She turned away and ran off, tears flying from her eyes. “T-Teardrop! Wait! You're alone now! You have to listen to my advice!” Dewdrop’s voice faded behind her as she ran, and Teardrop pushed herself harder against the ground, everything around her just blurred colors of blue, white and cyan. What more advice is there to give? I’ve lost everything!
Teardrop sprung awake, panting. Desperation burst through her, and she curled into a tighter ball, quivering with shock and sadness. Snow had been gently falling ever since she slept. She tried to remember last snowfall, it seemed so long ago!
