Michigan did a really smart thing and took the really good Penn state pass rush out of the game and just lined up and played smash mouth football. Also your coach made some really poor decision. Also if nobody was paying attention, Michigans interior d linemen played an incredible game
Michigan fan here and your offense/defense gave us a real challenge for the first time this year, so I wouldn't be too harsh on the home team. We couldn't pass because of your rush, which forced us to run. At first I was angry that Moore (Michigan OC/temp Head coach) couldn't be more creative, like using screens or quick slants to slow down your rush, but from what I've read since the game ended most praised him for doing the right thing by relentlessly running and forcing your D to stop it. And your QB will learn from these kind of games (along with the Ohio State one) and be a better QB for it in the coming years. He's still young and inexperienced, but given time he's gonna be a blockbuster. Cheers from Michigan.

As a UM fan I will disagree UM is a national contender this yr. I watch every game. UM is solid and deep at every position. I agree with you Franklin is not a good head coach but I would also say Manny Diaz had a shot in Miami although not a real fair shot I dont think he's the answer as HC. I want allar to do well because he's from Ohio where I live but he's the off. Problem. He's just not there yet.
One of Michigan's best strengths is situational awareness and coaching to it. James Franklin like JH has to look at his staff and decide its it good enough. JH decided after 2020 he had to clean house.

But you also need to count the emotions of the Michigan players due to the suspension, they played with everything and more they got. Blake Corum had blood on his face in the postgame interview, Penn State put up a good fight.

Great show, Im a UM fan. I slightly disagree on Georgia and Alabama, I think ( famous last words) that conference is down this year. As far as PSU, you have an elite pass rush. UM greatest strength is their depth. They wear teams out. Not sure on your QB, I've seen lots of 5 star guys at UM that sucked, it seems the biggest thing is pocket presence, toughness and the intangible to take off when a play breaks down ( besides the obvious - read coverage, accuracy and arm strength).
Michigan beatable this year compared to when? You just mean because your defense is insanely good or because Michigan is not as good this year? This is probably Michigans best team. The only weak area on that team is the tackle position on offense but they are not total garbage they are just not as good as last year's tackles. Tbf penn state almost lost by 15. The unsportsmanlike penalty during the almost-interception let them get some fire for that drive. Otherwise didn't seem likely they would've got that last td. That in addition to it being a home game, all the distractions michigan had, no had coach and no stallions (😂), one could argue this was similar to last year. However the penn state defense was better this year.
Penn State pass rush is ridiculous. Hats off to you guys. You simply got beat by a better team. Michigan made the necessary adjustments to win. Simple as that. Michigan hasn't really played a run dominant game this year until now. I think that it was generally thought they didn't have the run game they had last year. Here’s something. Comments on Franklin’s post game remarks were turned off. I saw him stare at jones after he asked a tough question and didn’t accept the answer. Then Franklin took notes on it like some boss
The two point conversion at the end is the right call. In order to win the game you have to convert the two points either way. If you attempt it on the first touchdown with 1 minute and 50 seconds left and DONT CONVERT, well your odds at winning are slim but at least you still have a chance. Now, let’s say you kick the extra point the first time, get the ball back and drive down for the second touchdown. If you miss the two point conversion you LOSE. YOU HAVE TO ATTEMPT THE TWO POINT CONVERSION ANYWAYS, if you end up failing the conversion, one option you still have a small chance at winning, the other you flat out lose. I’d rather take the first option, but that’s just me.
That just isn’t correct. Not getting the two point conversion makes it a two possession game at 9 points. If you kick the extra point it’s a one possession game. The game was over when it went to two possessions with 1:50 left. You’re not getting the ball back twice with only 2 time outs and a 1:50 left.
NCAA stated Harbs and Assist had no knowledge of Rogue staffer! The rule breaking was OFF CAMPUS! No way any coach knows what a staffer is doing "at" Rutgers!! In game sign stealing is legal!!
The weird thing about Yurcich play calling is that it looks different than every other approach he's taken throughout his career.. he's been a super aggressive play caller at other stints

Hey, I had to do the Penn State game again because the rushing numbers were off for going up against defenses of both calibur and pretty much the same thing but uglier. I didn't notice until I was doing another game and I just knew that something was off scoring 45 points. It was possible because of 3 picks and a fumble but it was Rutgers going at it with their running game when I rewatched it that made think this is not Michigan.
@@Penn_State_Nittany_No_Huddle yeah, the rosters are my own custom rosters because the guys did a good job scouting the players but in actually creating the players, you have to re-create every single player in the game because they did not do that well at all. Offence, defense... especially along the lines, but HB, WR, TE, LB and DBs all had to be recreated properly. The Revamped rosters that come with it break the game that is why you can't really duplicate what I do because technically I do have the most recent Revamped rosters, my own. Other things I have done as well here and there, custom playbooks and such to reduce speed option for most teams. Some teams like Kansas and UCLA, Oregon, etc... will let them keep it because they run that weird stuff still. It took 6 weeks now 18 hours a day to get it to here before Rivalry week which was one of the goals I wanted because a big week.
Great win for Michigan. Its one thing if Michigan's offensive line is just too tough for Penn Stste's defense, but PSU coaches knew what happened last year and didnt plan to creatively try defend it. Also PSU coaches didnt adjust to Michigan.
Our receiving corps has gone way down hill since Stubblefield was replaced.. the 2 pt conversions are emblematic of this program - gimmicks over good disciplined football
This is a hard loss for Penn State but if Michigan beats OSU to a pulp- as they have 2 years in a row, you'll know you can have a great team next year. Michigan will lose most of their starters to the NFL. Penn State has a great defense and incredible running backs who will be back next year. Beat OSU next year and you'll have a clear path to the championship.

But at what point do you start questioning why haven't those recruiting classes paid off? If we are comparing Michigan and Penn State to their respective recruiting classes then the series should be relatively even which it hasn't. In my opinion to say Michigan and Penn State are on the same level in the past 30 years then you would have to compare records. That is where it hasn't really been close. in order to say that a team is on the same level as another team then it should show in the record book. That hasn't been the case in some time. But let's just agree to disagree.
Defense overall is elite by the numbers, but good coaches know how to penetrate aggressive defenses like yours...which is why PSU never beats good teams
It’s a shame that your coach made mistakes and your team played so hard to win. I’m not saying you would’ve won without his mistakes however, he certainly added to their mentality on the field or lack there of.
Penn State's running backs simply were not as good as they looked the previous year, no receivers worth mentioning, a rookie QB *and* most importantly the evidence that they looked bad against Ohio State, the outcome of that game was never in doubt, even before the kickoff. After the Ohio State game, I didn't watch anymore. I realized the national media, the B10 media and the TV media pumped up PSU to be about twice as good as they really were. As a fan, my expectations going forward are pretty close to zero now when they go into a team that's in the top 10, because the evidence for 10 years has demonstrated they're never as good as claimed. It's not worth getting vested in the team because you know they'll disappoint you.

In hindsight, PSU's line had a couple of OT that were elite, but the interior of the line was below par. Michigan feasted on the center of that line.

Great show, Im a UM fan. I slightly disagree on Georgia and Alabama, I think ( famous last words) that conference is down this year. As far as PSU, you have an elite pass rush. UM greatest strength is their depth. They wear teams out. Not sure on your QB, I've seen lots of 5 star guys at UM that sucked, it seems the biggest thing is pocket presence, toughness and the intangible to take off when a play breaks down ( besides the obvious - read coverage, accuracy and arm strength).

Michigan beatable this year compared to when? You just mean because your defense is insanely good or because Michigan is not as good this year? This is probably Michigans best team. The only weak area on that team is the tackle position on offense but they are not total garbage they are just not as good as last year's tackles. Michigans Defense is extremely hard to score on and every bit as good as Penn states. So I disagree that Michigan was more beatable this year as far as their team goes but as far as it being a home game for PSU and that great Defense than I understand what your saying

Tbf penn state almost lost by 15. The unsportsmanlike penalty during the almost-interception let them get some fire for that drive. Otherwise didn't seem likely they would've got that last td. That in addition to it being a home game, all the distractions michigan had, no had coach and no stallions (😂), one could argue this was similar to last year. However the penn state defense was better this year.
Penn State pass rush is ridiculous. Hats off to you guys. You simply got beat by a better team. Michigan made the necessary adjustments to win. Simple as that. Michigan hasn't really played a run dominant game this year until now. I think that it was generally thought they didn't have the run game they had last year. Well it appears they still do and that was the adjustment. Get big and grind it on the ground. Hard to counter that when you don't have the personnel.

We didn’t have to. Saving Blake and Don for these last 3 games. This was obvious to anyone that watched Michigan all year. We had the capability, just didn’t need it. We can play any way the opposing defense wants but regardless, we’re dominating.

Here’s something. Comments on Franklin’s post game remarks were turned off. I saw him stare at jones after he asked a tough question and didn’t accept the answer. Then Franklin took notes on it like some boss

The two point conversion at the end is the right call. In order to win the game you have to convert the two points either way. If you attempt it on the first touchdown with 1 minute and 50 seconds left and DONT CONVERT, well your odds at winning are slim but at least you still have a chance. Now, let’s say you kick the extra point the first time, get the ball back and drive down for the second touchdown. If you miss the two point conversion you LOSE. YOU HAVE TO ATTEMPT THE TWO POINT CONVERSION ANYWAYS, if you end up failing the conversion, one option you still have a small chance at winning, the other you flat out lose. I’d rather take the first option, but that’s just me.
That just isn’t correct. Not getting the two point conversion makes it a two possession game at 9 points. If you kick the extra point it’s a one possession game. The game was over when it went to two possessions with 1:50 left. You’re not getting the ball back twice with only 2 time outs and a 1:50 left.
PSU is a good team, they have a pretty good defense. What they're missing is some good WRs. They also need bigger DLs and LBs.

Hey, I had to do the Penn State game again because the rushing numbers were off for going up against defenses of both calibur and pretty much the same thing but uglier. I didn't notice until I was doing another game and I just knew that something was off scoring 45 points. It was possible because of 3 picks and a fumble but it was Rutgers going at it with their running game when I rewatched it that made think this is not Michigan.

@@Penn_State_Nittany_No_Huddle yeah, the rosters are my own custom rosters because the guys did a good job scouting the players but in actually creating the players, you have to re-create every single player in the game because they did not do that well at all. Offence, defense... especially along the lines, but HB, WR, TE, LB and DBs all had to be recreated properly. The Revamped rosters that come with it break the game that is why you can't really duplicate what I do because technically I do have the most recent Revamped rosters, my own. Other things I have done as well here and there, custom playbooks and such to reduce speed option for most teams. Some teams like Kansas and UCLA, Oregon, etc... will let them keep it because they run that weird stuff still. It took 6 weeks now 18 hours a day to get it to here before Rivalry week which was one of the goals I wanted because a big week.

Great win for Michigan. Its one thing if Michigan's offensive line is just too tough for Penn Stste's defense, but PSU coaches knew what happened last year and didnt plan to creatively try defend it. Also PSU coaches didnt adjust to Michigan.

This is a hard loss for Penn State but if Michigan beats OSU to a pulp- as they have 2 years in a row, you'll know you can have a great team next year. Michigan will lose most of their starters to the NFL. Penn State has a great defense and incredible running backs who will be back next year.
Beat OSU next year and you'll have a clear path to the championship.

I was entertained and agreed with a lot of what they were talking about. But the second he said that Penn State and Michigan are on the same level WHAT?!?! Dude Michigan and Penn State are not on the same level. They haven't been on the same level for quite some time. Michigan and Ohio State are. For the last 60+ years Ohio State and Michigan have pretty much owned the B10. Yeah there were a few years in between where Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin and Iowa have won it, but for the most part it has been Ohio State and Michigan. Penn state and Michigan have recruited almost identical since 2013, Michigan has 2 big ten titles since 2013, psu has 1. Michigan has a split national title since 1997. Penn state last natty 1986. But at what point do you start questioning why haven't those recruiting classes paid off? If we are comparing Michigan and Penn State to their respective recruiting classes then the series should be relatively even which it hasn't. In my opinion to say Michigan and Penn State are on the same level in the past 30 years then you would have to compare records. That is where it hasn't really been close. in order to say that a team is on the same level as another team then it should show in the record book. That hasn't been the case in some time. But let's just agree to disagree.

Penn State's running backs simply were not as good as they looked the previous year, no receivers worth mentioning, a rookie QB *and* most importantly the evidence that they looked bad against Ohio State, the outcome of that game was never in doubt, even before the kickoff. After the Ohio State game, I didn't watch anymore. I realized the national media, the B10 media and the TV media pumped up PSU to be about twice as good as they really were.
As a fan, my expectations going forward are pretty close to zero now when they go into a team that's in the top 10, because the evidence for 10 years has demonstrated they're never as good as claimed. It's not worth getting vested in the team because you know they'll disappoint you.
