- Rúaidhrí O’Connor join Cian Tracey and Luke Fitzgerald to assess the chances of a Leinster v Munster decider in the URC.
Leinster have logistical headaches and altitude to contend with as they travel to face the Bulls in Loftus Versfeld - Luke remembers how playing at such heights can impact your body.
Meanwhile - Munster can make most of their partnerships; who Andy Farrell may pick to face the Springboks; should Simon Zebo get a call-up?
The URC has a much better format than the Champions Cup, has been very entertaining the past 3 years, and Munster won the tournament last year after sneaking into the playoffs. What are they on about?
The URC been better ever since the addition of the SA teams and it’s also funny how Super Rugby has digressed since they left
Tracey keeps saying it's 'unthinkable' for Leinster to fail.
But based on the last 3 years, it's very thinkable. They consistently lose the crunch games and have given themselves an incredibly difficult route in these URC playoffs. Cullen has to take the blame for that
And so it proved. And no Irish in the final, who would have thought that.

Hero ❤
Leinster are not battle hardened enough and Munster are leggy.
😮
Re Attendances, the smaller host cities will always struggle for attendances for a Friday game: Limerick is 10% the population of Dublin so Thomond Park only fills when the fans from Cork, Clare, Tipp etc. can travel in numbers.
You used to get 10k in attendance for local club games in Limerick so yhe population is there. It's not really a 10 to 1 ratio because the rugby population of Limerick is a lot higher than anywhere else in the country
Indeed: been to many of those cup + AIL games with the old man in the club glory days pre-professionalism and the crowds were very large as you say… but there’s a big difference between Derbys where many in the crowd have a direct connection with a Garryowen, Munsters or Shannon etc. and a visiting Welsh team.
I also think success has a lot to do with it: those games were when the Limerick clubs were serial winners… best of luck trying to get those bumper crowds again. As for Munster, when they were in their pomp you couldn’t get a tic for love nor money, whereas a decade plus of underachievement has left many to simply watch at home.
@@philipmatthewoconnor no doubt there were many bandwagoners but that goes with the territory. I also think after the economy nose dived at the end of the noughties, many local players left for Dublin and other places for work. People now watching their pockets a bit more also. Still, the attendances in recent seasons have been decent even with the muck being served up under van Gran
Please put in timestamps so i can skip the shite talk? Sound
Also enjoy the week to week run in...hate the
Gaps in rhe play offs for the ERC..
Luke's answer around 12 minutes on Leamy's defense was pure and utter waffle. Absolutely nothing related to the question.
I know there was a not a full stadium for the Leinster game but comparing it to the Covid days is a bit much. I watched online and thought the crowd made enough noise as was appropriate for the game.
What about Edogbo...where is he at injury `wise?
Annoys me so much the Munster squad update doesn't include updates on him
Urcs been class...love the inter country rivalry...all rhe countries got a team into the quarters...
I don't think any league has enough competitive teams to make a round of eight feel genuinely thrilling - Not the premiership, Not the Top 14, and not Super Rugby. None of the four teams that lost last weekend looked like they had any real hope of winning the tournament. Despite what Munster managed to pull off last year, semifinal, final is a far better format.
50:50 I welcome out new George "Luke Fitzgerald" Hook overlords. Honestly think he's great and should push the contrarian/hot take angle he sometimes goes for
mike haley is the obvious next choice at 15 - esp given his physicality for the south africa tour. zebo is on his way out and jimmy o'brien is good on the wing but not convinced he's effective at fullback.
Top 4 only.
Teams will still play to get into the top 8 for champions cup
The URC has been the more interesting and competitive competition for the last few years. The champions cup with its dog awful format is only interesting for the Semi final and Final.
Bulls semi final away win to leinster 2 yrs ago makes it interesting
So leinster lost to altitude not to the bulls? Your thumbnail is disrespectful to the bulls.
Ruadhiri is such flip flopper
You can’t in March profess that Ireland should aim to go the year unbeaten and now turn around and say that a tour to South Africa which something that rarely happens IS A DEVELOPMENT TOUR
GTFO
Something stinks in the Leinster fridge.
It's Leo's waffle
