Try the Knipex Pliers Wrench and you'll never go back to a Crescent adjustable wrench. I also put my wrenches on a carabiner. I have a round one that's easier to work with than the standard carabiner.
Nice bag! I would replace the wrench sets and crescent wrenches for a knipex cobra and a knipex adjustable pliers.... everything else seems pretty solid to me.
Amazing tools and great choices. I second the pliers wrench. Also the Dewalt electric screw driver can save a boat load of time and effort, We work in Health Code regulated environments and keep our tools clean to prevent contamination. I have also worked with a lot of slobs with dirty tools that think their great because their tools are filthy but then they clean and polish the things they do care about.
Nik, I would like to recommend an impact driver set to add to your Electrician Tools collection. Impact drivers are essential for budging stubborn seized screws (say on exposed instrument panels) without damaging them by cracking the thread open, while turning from the impact action. I have a set by Draper, that has numerous screw driver bits as well as some sockets.
Ecobion, Impact driver set? A reason for me to get more tools! Thanks for the idea, now I just got to make more room, the life of a tool junkie.... Thanks for watching, Nick
Hey like your videos. Two years as a electrician apprentice. What tools are the best value for the money. I currently have knipex, klein, milwaukee, greenlee, and Southwire tools. I buy Whats most comfortable for me to use. Most electricians I talk to say buy klein, but the other brands work better in some cases and are cheaper.
Nice bag and organisation, definitely going to be pinching the carabiner idea to store my spanners. How do you find the battery life on the fluke 233, specifically in the detachable screen? While the detachable screen came in handy, it was only occasionally for my line of work and the poor battery life outweighed the positives for me, needing to be changed every 2 weeks. I was actually glad when some bastard stole it (covered by my works insurance luckily) and I replaced it with a 1587, much happier with that
I have the same multimeter 233 fluke. and the depending on how much you use it they hold up well. I have more than one meter and try to use my cheaper meters for dirty work but I have only changed battery 5 times in about 3 years. takes 5 AA batteries. 3 in the main unit and AA batteries in the monitor. Hope this helps. ps. I also don't use the 233 fluke that much when the cheap one does the same thing. I use it when needed. I do like the wireless screen.
I like the carabiner idea! My favourite wire cutters were NWS but i lost them, then found them a year later in a colleagues tool box mangled beyond use...
Tool thieves are terrible creatures, which need to be dropped off in the middle of the sea. Possibly stealing a person's means of living. They are amazing tools though, sorry to hear about there misplacement. I am fond of the carabiner idea, Look after your tools, and they will look after you! Thanks for watching, Nick
love that array of tools I own greenlee tool and some klein and my meters r klein and Ideal and greenlee and radio shack ones and extect brand and that tool bag nice bag
they great home depot has klein if u go to the web site or local home depot store by one and check em out to me they r good meters even greenlee meters r descent meters
I have only seen on Greenlee meter, the leads were soldering into the multimeter - ever since I would never trust their brand of mulitmeters, Klein has got a good rep. so I would give them a shot. Maybe I place some thought into buying one.
Hi Nick. I don't know if you can get them in Canada but if you can buy yourself some Bahco adjustable wrenches. You can use them with confidence knowing that they will not wreck nuts and bolts. I no longer carry a selection of wrenches just a couple of Bahcos. They are available both in metric and imperial. :)
Did you upgrade the adjustable wrenches to knipex's pliers wrench? It's much nicer to bolts in my experience. Also just got the 13 88 and it's such a reassuring backup
I love your videos, Nick! As someone looking at starting a sparky apprenticeship at the end of this month, I find your videos extremely informative, concise and easy to watch. Consequently, I am drawing a lot of inspiration from all of your videos, especially this one. I've been researching most of your tools in this video to find the lowest priced retailer. Living in Australia makes this task a little bit more complicated since not all of these lines are stocked in Australia. Have you considered making an Amazon account and listing these tools on it? I'm sure Amazon has a "compensation schemes" sellers are entitled to. If you do already have one, I'll definitely be checking it out! Keep up the awesome content! James
Wow I'm glad I keep my bag small. You can do alot with a 10 in 1, knife, sripers. Like everything pretty much. I like to keep a nice touch tester and hammer for staples. I noticed you had no tape and krimpers. Someone afraid of crimp sleaves? I work for myself and I don't know a lot of guys who use crimp sleaves like me. Probably because the connection never goes bad and it's just to good to be true lol.
Clifton Dupler I usually just rock a pair of lines man, a standard screw driver, and installation pliers and a cell phone, in my pocket. Handles 80% of my work.
Another great review, it's nice to see the progression from the last video. The more I see of the Veto bags the more I want one, I've promised myself one when I change jobs. Was thinking about my setup whilst watching the video, and I don't know if this is common or not, but my work tools, the tools I use for my job are pretty much all low to mid range, whilst the gear I have at home is all much better quality. Maybe that's down to the environment I work in, it just made me smile. I've got a set of the slim VDE Wera's on order, looking forward to checking them out. I think next on my list has to be some dedicated nut drivers, always liked the Klein drivers as they look quality but being in the UK they end up being too expensive, I think being a tool junkie I feel I need to have some Klein in my life!! will probably end up with the Wera set however if the VDE's impress. Keep up the vids!!
Thanks man appreciate the feedback man! Veto Pro Pacs are amazing! Plan on changing jobs soon? Work actually provides me with tools, so the is my personal set that never leaves the lab. The only thing I provide at work is electrical testing equipment. The wera screw drivers are awesome, you will have only one regret... not ordering them sooner. How about about Wera nut drivers (or did I making that up in my mind?)? I really like the wera grip, quality and innovation. Closer to home for you too. Klein are good but they aren't the be all end all. My new brand is Knipex and Wera. German engineering is beyond amazing, Thanks for the support Nick
Nick Sek Funnily enough about 20 mins after posting yesterday the Wera's got delivered, that grip is awesome, someone has really spent some time thinking about that. I went for the slim model just because I know at some point in the future they'll make paying the extra £10 seem worthwhile!! After feeling the grip on the Wera drivers I can see them becoming my brand of choice, and like you've said a few times, the price v quality is real good. Your lucky having work supply your daily tools, I received my first "tool" from work last week...........a black sharpie for re drawing the lines on pool tables! I'm just reluctant to take my "good" tools to work for fear of someone walking off with them, unfortunately I work in some pretty negative environments where people wouldn't think twice about walking off with your tool bag whilst your back was turned (I've already lost a couple of meters this way). I'm always planning on changing jobs but it's been harder to put it into practice, I need to up my knowledge levels (or at least get a qualification to confirm the knowledge I've built up over the years, I'm self taught). I'm tired of working in the negative environments and on mainly gambling machines (you get a lot of people confronting you believing the machines have robbed them or just generally people telling lies to get something for nothing), I'm looking to get into other coin op. industries, in particular repairing vending or coffee machines, a similar skill set to what I have now but in not such a negative environment. I'll keep trying.......
Very nice tool pouch I am jealous. I used to have wera screwdrivers and at first I loved them but the tips didnt hold up. Now I only have 3 screwdrivers in my pouch. A quick pick, large flat, and small terminal driver.

Hi mate. At 4:08, what the serial number of the Knipex pliers you're talking about. Thanks !
+Bruce B Try Knipex 13-88-8 (insulated version for electrical installation) or 13-82-8 for the one he's displaying
great video! very informative. one question though, what about power tools? drills, impacts, etc. you should do a brief video for those.

I make covers/sheaths for my inspection mirrors to keep them clean and scratch free.

What kind of bag is that
Great to know all the various tools a real pro uses !
Nice tool set! Awesome!!!
Just out of interest, what's the price estimate on your bag of tools? Nice set up, truly the best of the best!
I would guess ~$600 for the tools alone. Add $200 for the Veto Pro Pac Tech XL bag.
I have checked all your videos. really good
Great video👍👍 So much said in such little time
Awesome video bro!!! But how heavy is your tool bag with all those tools in it?

Hello Nick,
I just finished watching your previous tool video and posted this same question on that one as well.
Great video, and very informative. I was wondering why a label printer was never mentioned? Is it a tool you are not using often, or do you have another solution for making sure panels and wires are correctly identified as well as safety signs?
If a label printer is something you use, I would recommend our LW-PX900. If you are interested, we have Canadian representation who can set you up with a demo unit, no problem. Check out our product videos to learn more.
Thanks, and keep up the great work!

you have put a a lot of carring into your tools if they are still in that condition but tool set
As an industrial electrician you would be dealing with unistrut and long threaded rod. It seems the only nut drivers you should have are the milwaukee hollowcore nut drivers. They are also 12 pointed and can handle other nuts as well. If you try the milwaukee fastback II utility knife, you will find it is faster, better and more comfortable than any other knife for opening/closing. I have tried many and put the others all aside. You seem to have many of the same screwdrivers and cutters and pliers. You are just carrying duplicates which makes me wonder why and if any of them truly measure up. You also do not seem to have any kind of powered smaller drill or impact driver in your bag. ? Also do you not want to have a hands free flashlight to shine where you are working? This would seem to be extremely important. I use a mini mag style headstrap with the terralux 220 which is a great 220 lumen 2 aa flashlight and I use nimh aa and carry extras. Also what about carry a small case with wirenuts, plate screws, receptacle/screw space out washers etc. I carry a little case like your bit case with them. It also has inside gfci stickers, extra long mounting screws and other necessary hardware which an electrician will always need. Also I do not think you mentioned having a rethreading tool for 6-32, 8-32, 10-32 threads. Box holes always get stripped. There are some other things I have to think of. Oh, what about a circuit breaker finder, leads for it, socket adapter etc. GFCI receptacle tester. I carry colored tape when taping wires so it do not confuse coloring. At least black, white and green for you basic wiring and differentiation between hots, neutral and grounds.
+Ari P Klein now has some hollow core style nut drivers as well that look cool but are a bit pricey
+Adam Greene they are worth every penny. Try them and you'll never regret it. I got a set just a few weeks a ago.
TimEllenburgPhoto thanks !
Typical of Klein to be a Johnny come lately.
Nice review!
a micrometer for drilling and tapping?
can you recommend some tool kit to $ 300 please?
I had a bunch of tools like this from some years in the wind industry but someone broke into my storage unit and stole 2 tools bags and a bunch of other stuff
hi nick there is wire stripper i use in Holland and its beteer the the one you use now
i have used it my self
it is an automatic wire stripper and it comes in different brands also
the best one i think is the one made by weidmuller WEIDMULLER - STRIPAX 0.8-10MM - WIRE STRIPPER, 0.8-6MM
Give me your comonecation iwant your electrical bag tools
класс очень компактно и всё необходимое
Non voltage contact tester :D
Amen to that :D
Ahaha I didnt even notice xD
Sick bag bruh
I need toolbox ful
good cable catеer!
your tools look like they have never been used

Wow those tools have seen a lot of use, haaaaa and I just looked up how much one of those bags cost!!!!
