Greetings from Poland. Thank you for this perfect tutorial. Your stone looks like a precious gem. I have just started dotting and I know how much practice and patience it needs. It's wonderful that people so talented like you want to share their knowlege and skills with the world.
Hi Halina! Aww thank you so much!! 😄 🙏 💕 That is so nice of you to say 🤗 thank you for watching my video and for reaching out to connect! 😁 I hope you have been enjoying your painting journey so far and please let me know if you have any questions or if there is something you would like a tutorial on that I haven't posted yet! 😁 Have a wonderful and stay safe Halina 💕 Kelly
Aww thank you Kat! 🤗💕😁 Haha I'm glad you found a 'bonus' one to watch! I am prioritizing a new tutorial to post in January as well! 2021 was a bit of a busy year but 2022 I will be back to tutorials! 😁💕 So stay tuned!! ❤️
Secont time you made my day today with your videos! I was totally stuck with my dot painting, unable to go on after the fourth layer of dots... And thanks to you,now I understand how I can add more layers. Thanks so so much!!!
You are most welcome!! 💕🙏 I'm so thankful my tutorial was able to help and the sky is the limit now 😉😁 thank you again for your sweet comments and for watching my tutorials Ophelie! 💕❤️
This is the first video of yours I have seen- look forward to looking at more. I love this design and color palette- can’t wait to do this tomorrow- so pretty!
I followed your tutorial. Thanks I had a lot of fun and my rock (natural irregular stone) and it looks really great. Does not look like yours cause I had to adapt to the shape of my stone and i used similar colours. But seeing the results, i am going to keep rock painting. Having a tutorial helped me a lot. Thank you. My rocks looks like a gem. Wish I could show you! Thanks again.
That is so awesome! 💕🤗 Thank you so much for watching my tutorial and I am happy to hear that it was helpful and you enjoyed the process! I would love to see your final result, you could send it through my Facebook page @kellytheresa.dotartist or my email kelly_theresa@outlook.com 😁
Hi Glendalynne! Thank you! I actually just added resin to it last week! 😁 I will post a photo in the community chat so you can see it as I don't think I can post here in the messages 😊
That's awesome! Thank you so much Emma! I really appreciate you watching my tutorials and am happy to hear that our styles are a match! 😁🤗💕 Stay tuned for a new tutorial in January! 😁
So helpful and mesmerizing to watch! Is there a favorite paint you like to use? I have bought some cheap paints that seem too runny. So far I’ve just ordered from Amazon or picked up a few from Walmart.
Thank you so much Jo! 😁 💕 I typically use DecoArt (Americana is my favorite of their brand) and FolkArt brands. I find the brands like Apple Barrel too runny and the most expensive stuff is a bit too thick, whereas these brands are almost always perfect right out of the bottle! 😁
I love this! Thank you so much for posting! Just today, I bought a 30lb bag of stones from Lowe's & this is going to look awesome on some! I am excited to try all sorts of color combos!
That is fantastic Holly! You know I never thought of going to some place like Lowe's for stones! Do they have nice round ones?! And thank you so much for your comment and for watching my tutorials!! 😁 💕 🙏
@@KellyTheresa I just hit the notification bell, so I am all set for your next one!! The stones are not perfectly round, but nice and soft. They measure from 1.5 inches to about 3 inches. I found them outside in the garden area with the crushed stones, they come in with and gray and white. I think they are going to work perfectly for kindness and mandalas stones. Not to expensive at $10.98 for 30 pounds!! Here is a link: www.lowes.com/pd/Beach-Pebble-Company-Pebble-Company-30-lb-Gray-Mexican-Beach-Pebbles/1001008114
That is so awesome! Thank you Holly 💕 I will be creating tutorials more often now that I have a more reliable video making software program so stay tuned for sure! 😊 🙏 I'm definitely going to go check out Lowe's thank you so much for the tip!! 😁
Thank you so much! 😁 I find my stones sometimes in nature, other times I make them and I recently found out you can buy them at hardware stones in the landscaping section!
Hi I use metal styluses, wooden dowels, and even homemade ones with nails or tacks int the eraser of a pencil! I have a RUclips video on here all about tools that you can check out too to see how I use them 😁
Hi, Thank you so much for another great tutorial. Your attention to detail is phenomenal. Do you have any advice about stopping the big dot paint from running if it is on a slope? Thank you again. Aileen xx
Hi Aileen! Thank you so very much for kind comment! 😁 💕 Typically if I have a thinner paint that I know is going to run I will hold the stone and move it around upside down and side to side blowing on them until they have become more solid. I have a video coming out soon that has hints and tips and I will add this to the list for that video to show the visual of it! 😁
This was fabulous thanks so much for sharing your talent. Do you mix any of your own paints out of tubes? If so could you give me your opinion on what mediums to use when? For example if I’m using a metallic paint like the new Arteza paints I would have to thin them out but I have some already bottled paint that I need to thicken I have no idea what to do in either case I would appreciate any information you have.
Hi Janice thank you so much for watching my tutorial and your kind words! 😁 I do mix my own paints when I am creating pieces that are not made for tutorials (I try to keep the true to color paint from the tube/bottle for tutorials so the palette can be copied exactly if wanted 😊) and when I do mix colors or need to thin out a paint I use a pouring medium and just add a few drops to the paint and mix and then add more if needed until its the consistency that I want. If I need to thicken a paint it's a bit more tricky, I tend to find a similar paint color that is thicker consistency and too thick to paint with and mix the two, very much like you are thinking with doing a combo of a paint that is too thick with a paint that is too thin. 😊 Win win!
@@KellyTheresa Thank you so much Kelly I really appreciate all the information. I never thought of mixing thick paint with thin paint which completely makes sense because I’ve heard that a pouring medium is basically dinner paint without any colour I could be wrong on that though. Have a great day! Keep the videos coming. 😊
@@KellyTheresa that is very thoughtful of you I really appreciate it 😊. I recently started painting when I lost use of my hand after waking up from sleeping in the wrong position it’s took months to get even my fingers to move Thank God and the powers that be 🙏the feeling and use is coming back. I can hold a paintbrush so I use it as Physiotherapy. It’s much more enjoyable than all the exercises LOL. Well take care and stay safe.
Thank you so much Milisa! 😁 I use a metal toothpick (also called a sugar needle) but you could also use a wood toothpick you may just need to change it for a new one often to keep a nice sharp point 😊 I hope you enjoy your dot painting journey and please let me know if you have any other questions or anything you would like to see a tutorial on that you don't see here yet! 🤗

Hi Vickie, I haven't painted a sand dollar but I have used a sand dollar as the center dot for one of my mandala paintings :) I love sand dollars!

Love your colors. I do not have as bright paint as you do. But I tried and mixed white to tone down the colors with each top dot.

I’m a beginner and would like to see how you will do these in glow in the dark and seal them for outside
Hi Patricia! I can definitely do that for a future tutorial! I would use glow in the dark acrylic painting and seal with resin for outside 😊
@@KellyTheresa what base paint do you use?
All the base paint I use is the same acrylic as for the dots 😊
Loving this information. What size is your base/rock?
Hi Shianne! Thank you for watching my tutorials! The stone in this tutorial is 2 and 1/4 inches in diameter

What brand of paint are you using?
Hi! My favorite brand is DecoArt Americana 😊
What was your base coat?
The base coat is a layer of black acrylic paint
What will you seal it?
I coat most of my stones in resin (especially if it's going to be outside) or an acrylic varnish if it's an indoor stone and I'm limited on time, but typically I really love the resin finish 😊
