Chicken Alfredo Recipe
Ingredients List
--------
500g boneless chicken thighs (chopped)
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt (or salt to preference)
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp thyme
250g tagliatelle pasta
Garlic bread (optional)
4 cups water + 1 tsp salt (to cook pasta)
1-2 tbsp vegetable oil
1-2 tbsp butter
1 medium onion (chopped)
1 tsp garlic cloves (minced)
2 cups double cream (can use half and half or heavy cream)
1 tsp all purpose seasoning
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
Freshly chopped parsley to garnish

I made this, with more sauce, and it was a big hit! It was seasoned perfectly. Will definitely make again.
Just made it, it's bomb, all my family loved it. It's very quick and unexpensive to make. I like how you don't have to stick to the recipe and use the spices and herbs that you like. Thank you Terri-Ann. I doubled the recipe to serve 4 big eaters: no leftover.
It looks delicious, just a little advice it's always best to add pasta straight from the water in to the sauce about 1-2 minutes before the pasta is al dente.
Then add some of that starchy water to the sauce which works as a binder, emulsifier and thickener.
Also best to add a little bit of the starchy water at a time until the pasta is cooked to your liking.
Finally it's best to have a little bit of extra sauce as it will natraully dry up and thicken once it has been plated and cooled slightly.
I worked in an Italian restaurant for many years and this is how we where taught :)
I think this is not pasta Alfredo.Certanly looks delicoius but it should be called something else.
Pasta Alfredo gets sauce from butter and pasta water,also think they add parmessan.

@@queenhelebron5717 Yeah the original recipe for Fettuccine Alfredo is how you explained although the name is from a famous American Italian chef. In Italy they would know it as Al Romana or Al Burro.
So if he could rename the dish then could say it's a fitting tribute to do the same 😁

Adding the pasta from the water would be too drippy. This is better this way
No it wouldn't because you cook the water off again, its calles emulsifying the pasta with the sause, as the water evaproates it makes the sause stick better to the pasta.@@terrisannbrooks2724

Omg my mum is obsessed with that seasoning. Her friend put her on it a few years ago. She kept saying how good it was but I wasn’t paying attention. I started cooking with it during our first lockdown. That’s when I realised how good it was. I should always listen to my mum especially when it comes to food.

You know what they say eat to your taste , I love ❤️ the pasta swimming a bit in the cream , in yours it looks dry needs more butter and cream or a little bit of milk , to softener . ... I am sure it is tasty 😋. .thank you . It is my menue for tomorrow.
