FYI The songs “Autumn Strong” and “Ikanaide” share the same melody. “Autumn Strong” is the Chinese version of the song while “Ikanaide” is the Japanese version. Both done by Dimash beautifully (Dimash Ikanaide 20th Tokyo Jazz Festival Video = Fantastic ♥
Ikanaide is the original. He should be doing the Tokyo Jazz festival one next week as Long as he keeps himself more healthy. Poor man broke his foot.😊

I really fell in love with Dimash's singing in this song and in this particular performance. The song is beautiful and Dimash's rendering is magic. He is like the successor of the bards of old who told stories through songs that took people's breath away. It's so sad that many of Dimash's haters attack Dimash that he's just a technical, emotionless singer who's just showing off.

If we ever make it to a concert, we can sing the chorus of this song with Dimash, it has to be an incredible experience to be at Dimash’s concert with fans of all ages and nationalities singing in so many different languages with Dimash, and he loves it when the Dears sing ❤. Probably many other more knowledgeable Dears will write in, but the real reason Dimash did not win is due to the fact that he was a special invite to this competition, BEFORE the event contract was rewritten to permit ANY nation's performer to win. Up until Dimash's session, only a Chinese artist could win.
A point John missed is that "Autumn Strong" is actually a reworking into Chinese of the Japanese song by the famous and talented Japanese artist, Tamaki Koji. Dimash slays the original Japanese song at the 2020 Tokyo Jazz Festival - recorded in a studio under COVID restrictions! Hopefully, John will also react to that soon.
As someone who lived and worked in Japan for a decade and is fluent in Japanese, Dimash really mastered the nuance of Japanese in his performance.

@@barbaraspeckarmy the next season the rules were changed, think of what happens when someone wins these shows in the US, they are under contract for someone else, completely controlled, it’s not the best thing to win these competitions in the US, now I can’t speak about contractual obligations in other countries. So fortunately Dimash was famous overnight in China, 600 million people saw SOS, and now he is famous in places all over the world, but not being controlled by any Music Label, he has his own.

I watched a reaction of this song from a Chinese person and they said Dimash did perfect pronunciation. It took Dimash 1 week to learn this song. He had never sang in Chinese before.

One of the best things about Dimash he believes and says..... there are no bad nations, only a handful of bad people with power over the people within the nation. We all can choose to be kind and respectful of one another.
Another sad thing was that he didn't even win this tour. I think that's what they call the episodes. To be fair, he was the youngest there. Everyone else was a bit older professional singer or singers. I enjoyed some of the other artists. Terry Lin and the band Lion, who you see backstage in this video. They were all super supportive of him. The show learned their lesson because Jessie J won the next season.

Dimash has sung songs in many languages. He does not speak most of them. He has received criticism for SOS, which is in French.
He did not win this but came in second. The reason being he was not a Chinese citizen! So there you go! Brutal huh? 👍❤️🇨🇦
He improved his French pronunciation in subsequent versions! I don't understand people criticizing when most wouldn't even attempt what he does. I have even more admiration when I consider the added difficulty of his native language/ learned vocalizations being so different from other languages. It is easier for an English speaker to learn Italian than Chinese, for example. Even more difficult to learn language as an adult, too.
Omg..I ❤this so much. I love it in every version but this one is special. He is always up to challenge himself. To learn this song in a week is insanely impressive. I have watched this dozens of times, and it never fails to bring me to tears. I, too, am shocked that he didn't win this competition. It was won by a Chinese woman. However, his performance of Uptown Funk did not do well in the scores, and it cost him. We ALL know that he was the best singer in the competition. To me, he was the winner. It is very sad when people attack others for where they are from. I too have seen some nasty comments about Americans. I too am American and I just can not see bashing someone for where they are from. Dimash seems to always try and sing and say at least a few words in whatever language the country in which he is performing speaks. When he was in New York he spoke a lot of English and also in his native tongue a few times. He sang in a host of languages and everyone was just happy and the entire atmosphere was just warm and wonderful.

Arguably one of the most beautiful songs ever written. I know it's very famous and very much loved in China, so to do a Mandarin version live to a Mandarin audience and bring tears to their eyes is artistry.
There is a great reaction of a chinese artist - portrait art in which he tried to explain a full reaction long, why it’s not possible to sing a song in mandarin without knowing the language quite well. Dimash only knew in Mandarin a few words. After that he saw the performance and was so exhausted and couldn’t believe that Dimash was 98 % right. This original song was written in Japanese. These were lyrics written specifically for this story. The original is called Ikanaide (ick-ah-NAH-ee-deh) The title means don't go or please don't go. It is the first public performance Dimash did in Japanese for the 2020 Tokyo jazz festival. Important to have the subtitles on because the original lyrics are different from these lyrics. For me Dimash is extraordinary, not only because his voice ( I don't care what is his vocal range because I don't know music, I'm just a listener that likes or not the singer and they songs) but he made us discovery so many beautiful songs, like this one, in languages like Japanese (the original version named Ikanaide), Chinese, Kasack or even SOS, in spite of be a French song ( I'm Portuguese so I know well French singers and a lot of French songs), i never heard it before, that if it is not because Dimash, I as an European would never know

I will be interested to see if you prefer the Chinese version or Japanese original best. Though not sure 100% fair as the Ikanaide is more current and his voice has improved which still boggles my mind. I really look forward to hearing his voice in his mid 30s when fully mature. I feel I need to say something that may not be popular here about the comment you shared about being American. I’m startled that anyone who is a Dimash fan would say something about our culture here in the USA. Dimash has been such a beautiful proponent of peace and tolerance for all humanity that I can’t imagine he would be anything but depressed that any of his fans would belittle someone for where they are from.
One of the first things I noted years ago was that I felt he will be a force for global peace and I stated such on one of the first videos I saw of his.
I’ve been pleased, over the years, to see that it appears to be one of his goals.
Being 68 years old, it has never been more clear to me that Dimash is a gift. I really think he would be shocked if he knew any of his true fans would spread words of hate for other cultures.
This is more of 6 years ago..Beautiful version but is not one of my favorite..Dimash has many versions more new/actual of this emotional chinese song,and in some his concerts he mixed in one song Late Autumn/Autumn Strong with the japanese song Ikanaide..Dimash is absolutely a phenomenal genius..However one of my favorite version of Late Autumn/Autumn Strong is Kiev concert march 2020..King Angel Dimash forever

@@JohnReavesLive Yes the version of the song Late Autumn/Autumn Strong in the concert of Kiev march 2020 is very touching,wonderful,and incredible with the final of the song that is absolutely out of this world..Only Dimash can do these incredibile things,no other one on the planet can..Also for this Dimash actually is the best of the best,the one and only,and the number one..For the concerts of Dimash every his concert is wonderful and unforgettable,and the concert of Kiev is one of my favorite concerts of Dimash in my top 10 of his concerts..I suggest other 2 concerts that are my favorites,New York Barclay Center arnau concert december 2019 and Almaty stranger tour concert september 2022..And a very important thing,when you use the videos of Dimash in his channel please for respect for Dimash and his work recognize the credit and put in description the link of the original video and or the link of the Dimash's channel because the respect is the most important thing..Thanks and greets

I love this song so much. Is part of his repertoire into Arnau Tour concerts, and every time he delivers it different. If You didnt watch Ikanaide yet, do it please, is the japanese version of autoumn strong.
