Flight Sim Historian Episode 566: Mil Mi-6 "Hook" (FSX:SE)

For the 566th episode of the Flight Sim Historian series, we're going to be taking a rather short look at another vintage Soviet aircraft, this time in the form of a helicopter. For everyone's viewing enjoyment, the Mil Mi-6, NATO reporting name "Hook".
The aircraft seen in this video is the freeware Mil Mi-6 "Hook" from Vladimir Zhyulskiy, and the simulator used is Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition from Dovetail Games.

Brings back memories for me. I remember when Second Life was a big thing (it may still be, but i never log in anymore). I actually made a Hook for sale. I was surprised how popular it got, considering Second Life is no way close to an actual simulator. Lovely video as always!

You are in a Russian bird. Pilots sit on the left there, not on the right. (Rotors also rotate the opposite way, as well as tailrotor on the opposite side, if it has one) Try the Mi-8 Hip in DCS (since it is on free fly right now). You will see what I mean. Same for the Mi-2 in X-Plane.
And yeah that bird has a TON of horsepower, it does lift off quickly.

كان العراق يمتلك سرب/٢٤ المتكون من ٦ طا ئرات من هذا النوع وهي طا ئرات نقل عملاقة وتم الاتفاق مع الجانب الروسي لتزويد العراق بطائرات المي ٢٦ لكن الحصار في التسعينات هو الحال دون تزويد العراق بهذه الطائرات (انا نسؤول مكتب ادارة السرب/٢٤)
