    Love Denver, worked at Railroad Specialist for 2 months & was sleeping in my brothers truck. Company didn't pay for rooms or mobile trailers for us non-rockies, only if we worked out of Colorado. Long story short, I visited Mile High Comics before I left, was there for 2 hours or more & purchased a Kick-Ass box set, 4 volumes in one set. Again love Denver & Mile High Comics, greatest city & comics mega, I miss Denver.

      It was, was one of the reasons I left the company, I mean my third day on the job I worked a 24 hour shift, Saturday 10am to Sunday 10am then that same day had to come back at 6pm & worked until the job was done which we were done by 4:30am, had Monday off then worked Tuesday to Saturday. The job is really grunt work, getting paid $12 an hour, taking showers at a 24hr fitness center & sleeping in my brothers truck. Seem it wasn't worth it but good thing I got to experience Denver which I really miss.

    I just read what you wrote Muzick, and it really touched me. My longest friend of 26 years has been blind almost half his life. His optic nerves were damaged due to a car accident. With the whole stem cell thing, I remember him saying that in 2015, he should be able to see again. Well, that didn't happen. He's never been bitter or depressed about the facts of reality with his condition.
    People are so amazed that don't know him because he can make anything with a motor. All the money I've saved on labor with getting him to fix my car. Or just seeing him up on his roof getting the leaves out of the gutter..and that's with screws and metal plates all his body. But here's hoping you won't go completely blind.

    • @Muzick
      @Muzick  5 лет назад

    Man... I was going to Mile High Comics back in the 80's when it was in Cinderella City.... was it in the Shamrock section? I forget all the streets..... So cool. Best store in the mall, I was either there or the arcade. Cool mall, was sad when it died, friend almost killed us in high school in the back lot that was built upside down lol. We were in the back of a VW Bug from the 60's with no seatbelts in the back. The two up front.... with seatbelts... having the time of their lives, the three of us in the back were like popcorn on tubo... for those that do not know... the back lot was as wavy as the ocean in bad weather, no joke my friend was getting air on that VW Bug jumping those concrete waves, man that hurt like hell. Good stuff... cool store. Lots of memories growing up there.

      Man! Cinderella City! I remember that place, it was almost before my time but I did regularly visit Jason's fun plex as a kid. I totally forgot they built the back side parking lot upside down. I'm sure that memory in the VW bug is burned into your brain cause of how hard you guys were surfing a concrete wave lot lol. There was a time when I was older and my friend and I tried to sneak into the mall when it was closed down, just to see what it was like inside. But we got stopped by a guard they had on patrol in there. What a crazy job that would lol.

    Kevin Smith and whatnot strikes me as someone who is kind of in their own world, and whatnot. Like, they try to come across as a normal "cool dude" that just so happens to be into comics. It's a very interesting dichotomy. Plus, it's amazing how money makes you look more attractive. I call it the Jim Carrey effect. But yeah, modern Kevin Smith looks a lot better in the face than younger Kevin Smith.

      WHEN Chuck dies. Unfortunately we cant take it with us. He seems genuine, liberated with a dont-give-a-fuq about what you think, attitude. Besides having to self-promote his charitable nature as a "firewall" regarding his assumed wealth, he is an example of dedication and making the most out of your dream. But honestly, Kevin Smith is a tool. I used to have a lot of respect for Mr Smith but his brash character and disingenuous camaraderie that he displays rubs me the wrong way. Something happened to Kevin Smith after that heart attack and for someone in a position such as him to make a difference (?), he is more of a embarrassment than legitimate. Very cringe and it feels likes he "forces" you to agree with him and his jaded opinions. The interaction he was having with the owner of Mile High is evident the mile high guy wasn't laughing wasn't playing back and forth with him as expected and this cool cat hey kids approach is so borrowed from Saturday morning TV that Chuck sees through the facade and unfortunately I'm seen through the facade the longer I see more of Kevin Smith on the RUclips and inserting himself as his career comes to a close. I know you meant well with this video Kevin but a documentary would have been really cool something professional instead of this hip Jive I'm your best buddy even though you don't even know the guy vido. Kevin, you say that you can love comics but can't help people.... I know you've supported the Wayne Foundation, but why not do your own charity? I'm sure Hollywood Babble-On alone could get a charity going. Jay and SIlent Bob Give Back, maybe?
