Thanks for your video, I got the exact same kit and struggled to figure it out and make it work. Had to use a bunch of spacers and washers but I made it work. Now I gotta figure out how to install the mounting plate on the tour pack
Great video, thanks a lot for posting. I'm installing the front docking kit for the passenger backrest. I had previously installed the rear kit, but the front seems more difficult. With the extra parts and the poor instructions, your video is a real time saver. It says 1.5 hour install time on the instructions, but I'm sure it will take me twice as long.
Great video instructions are perfect I found out when I followed these instructions why the saddlebag bracket that attaches saddle bag to bike goes over not under. If you have hard saddle bags with the detachable tour pac kit and you have the chrome magnetic covers over the docking kit if you have bracket under the top box lid is easy scratched when you open not much room if you put bracket over as per instructions gives you more of a gap hard saddlebags can be opened no risk of scratching lids.
Buffalo Harley Davidson wanted $460 just for a sissy bar pad in front docking Hardware. Got everything on eBay for less than 200. Harley instructions I believe are deliberately made to be complicated. I would hate to see Harley-Davidson go out of business but they need to stop screwing their faithful customers. Thanks brother I was about to blow a gasket so I saw everything went on your video appreciate you
outstanding video. I will be doing the exact same thing this weekend. May I ask - are you supposed to fill air for the shocks on 1 side only - or do you install air on both sides? I recently picked up a 2003 Road King, so I'm just getting to know the bike. Thank you. Again, great video.
Thank you much. There are 2 air inlet valves on the one side of the fender. So, both shocks are aired up on one side of the bike, at least on my 2001 RK. Good luck with your install!
i put the same kit on and when you put any resistence on the backrest the front pops out of the rubber "washer" that has the cutout to go around the shock. are you seeing the same or no complaints on your end?
Sorry man, I haven't had that issue at all. Sounds like the bracket on the backrest is too short. I'd double check to make sure it's made for your bike. Good luck!
Sorry, I don't have a link. I bought them 2 years ago on eBay and the listing is no longer available. New listings should be available by running a search.
@@Kr8z1 ok my buddy just told me that the kits do work for the older road kings but they need to be tweaked slightly. I guess he just had to add more washers to line it up with his touring back bracket.
Did you notice any handling issues with the original license plate frame mount removed
No issues here.

Welcome! Yes, definitely a do-it-yourself accessory.
I have a 1994 flhtp well that work on mine ,what yr. Is yours?
I have a 2001 FLHPI. I'm really not sure what all years this fits. If you check Harley's parts website it should tell you what years it covers.
Very informative video.. many thanks.
Welcome! Hope it helps.

Did you use a regular sissy bar? I can only find some with 12.5 inch spacing and my 97 Electra needs about 11.25
Yep, sure did. Standard OEM sizing for this bike.
Thanks for doing the video. I have an older bike and couldn't find an install video until I came across your's. Very helpful. TY.
Welcome. I had the same problem which promoted me to video. Good luck with your install!
I’m watching this now for my 07 street glide great video
Thanks! You're welcome! Glad I made the vid.
Where did you find them small red lights you have in the old license plates bracket wholes? I've been trying to find something made for those holes.
Sorry, my father had changed those out before he gave me the bike. He's in heaven now or I'd ask him. Good luck finding what you're looking for!
Thank you so much...I have a 2000 RK..and have not seen a video link this...
You're welcome! I couldn't find one either which is exactly why I made this one. Ride safe!

Thanks! You're welcome! Glad I made the vid. And I agree, they don't want us owners to install anything, they want us to pay them.
and thats why you will never see me inside a stealership
How did you get the front round roller mounted when it is so close to the shock? There's no room to get it in straight.
It was a tight fit but I was able to unscrew and screw mine without a problem.
Soo if I just wanted to do the passenger back rest of my 02 rk, I would only need to Install "front" kit, not the "rear" also correct??
That's what I'd expect, but it's been so long since I did this install I'm not 💯 sure.
Thank you! It's helpful.
Excellent, I'm glad to hear that! Thanks for commenting!
Thank you for making this Video. It was very helpful!!!!
Welcome! Glad it helped!
Very helpful. Thanks for making the video.

Did you have to adjust the shock to get the front dock bushing on?
Nope, didn't have to touch the shock. See 4:30 in the video.
Thanks, best video I've seen on this installation
You're welcome. I couldn't find a thorough install vid. Glad I made this. Thanks for the appreciation!
Thnks bro just what i needed

I am having the same issue as you Rich with a kit from Hogworkz. Did you find a solution?

DRAG SPECIALTIES replacement bushing. it is a hard plastic version of that cheap rubber washer
What year is your bike? I think I just found my problem with my tour pack bracket on my 2007 RK.
It's a 2001
@@jeffmorris9890 yep, this absolutely helped me figure out what I was missing. Thanks, Man!
@@mattburger1571 excellent! Glad to help.
where did you find a 7/36 allen? i dont think they made one? did you mean 7/32?
Yes probably so. Must have misread during video, sorry.
Link to the brackets?
Sorry, I don't have a link. I bought them 2 years ago on eBay and the listing is no longer available. New listings should be available by running a search.
Would those kits also work on a 93 road king?
Yes I believe so but you should look up the part numbers I provided and verify with Harley.

To bad that you recorded this with the phone in the wrong orientation
I agree! This was one of my first ever RUclips videos. I was pissed to find this out after I uploaded it.
