Seeing him standing inside that barn, devoid of all the prior suffering, brought a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes! Hallelujah, and thank you sincerely to everyone involved!!! 💜
The good thing is that mushrooms don't get bored, feel cramped, breathe their urine and their poop and don't peck one other till bleeding. They actually get plenty of air and they are really harvested, not killed.

Bravo and thank you from Denver, Colorado USA. I discovered your channel when u were in lockdown in Tucson. When I made my annual trip to Tucson to visit my brother and family I had him take me to BKW Mushroom Farm and I proceeded to make your Mushroom Steaks for the family. Derek, you are just so wonderful! My son and I are setting up a small, local, commercial mushroom operation on our farm in Hawaii. This video was both inspiring and helpful. ❤ Derek, you surely are stoking demand for mushrooms! Your creations all look AMAZING, and I can't wait to try them myself! I grew up in a steak-loving family where we always cooked button mushrooms to serve over steak. Before I went vegan, I had grown to enjoy eating the mushrooms MORE than the steak. I had put all this effort into perfecting my rib eye by salting it in advance and cooking it sous vide. But the portabellas I grilled along with it were far more delicious. With near-zero prep time and effort, too! It's so much work and time to make the perfect steak, but so quick and easy to make a MORE delicious portabella. Your video where you grill mushrooms and veggies was a game changer. You show that vegans don't have to miss out on ANYTHING - including grilling. I would love to see mushroom farms become a thing here in the US! There is such opportunity to feed people and get people healthy. Thank you for such an amazing video, and for everything you do. 🙏🏻❤️
This is amazing Derek! We need more mushroom growers in the US as the few we have are seemingly always out of stock. Mushroom farming is probably the most sustainable crop known to man! Just think most of the mushroom lives in the growth medium (which is stuff we normally throw away) as mycelium so the fruiting body they produce is like nature's gift to man. You cannot harm a mushroom as this is just like a fruit from them hence the name fruiting body. The protein composition is very similar to animal protein even though it has a lot more water. Speaking of water it requires way less water than regular vegetation crops. It's nature's perfect food!
This is so wonderful - revolutionary actually. Food should be grown, not raised. Helping farmers transition means livelihoods are protected, animal lives are saved and people still get to eat delicious food 💚 😊 🙌
Thank you Derek Sarno. This man who "Didn't say boo to a goose..." has inspired me in many ways to cook more plant based and mushrooms are a staple in my repertoire now. This video is well made and is a lesson for us all that we can create the change that we want in this world.

Wonderful! It's clearly one of the delicious and viable ways to shift this world into a new era of a mindful, conscience-based, sustainable form of agriculture, in which all are easily and healthfully fed without harming animals, and the overall environment on Earth is much improved. Bravo! Thanks for sharing this, Derek. May many, many farmers shift into organic mushroom farming and may they do well. A win-win for all.
The evidence of the true spirit of your beliefs are awe-inspiring. You are a role model that we, as a culture, are so painfully lacking. Best wishes, Namaste.

I'm hoping your excursion will bring greater awareness to the wonders of mushrooms and greater availability in the West. I'm rooting for your project and its success. Mushrooms are magic! 🍄

Thank you again for everything that you and Frankie Ms. America do to spread the message of compassion.
I grew up in a family of mushroom pickers. My father still doesn't know the correct names of mushrooms - but he knows what tastes good and what might kill us. We cook them exactly the way you cook them. For _many_ years. And we are not the first people to do this. Still: thank you. Show people how to be a little bit better in being people.
Nothing but love for this exceptional idea and all the wonderful people involved in the project. We all need to work together to be better people and to make the world a better place! Hugs to you and Frankie Ms. America! 💚
A tremendous step forward, you are a great steward of sustainable food practices. Based on a previous video on your channel I found a US mushroom kit company in my region. I look forward to cultivating and connecting with the food I cook. Thanks for your contributions!
This is amazing to see! It’s further proof that change is possible and we can make a more ethical food system that doesn’t cause unnecessary harm to animals! ✌️🌱

Grateful for this. One day I will create a farm in my homeland like this.
The evidence of the true spirit of your beliefs are awe-inspiring. You are a role model that we, as a culture, are so painfully lacking. Best wishes, Namaste.
Thank you for sharing this information and your heart too.
This is amazing Derek! Love the idea of 'compassionate action' ❤
Thank you, Derek, for being the change in the world we want to see.
Derek is a true hero of humanity.
Keep going.
Thank you Derek and a big thank you to all non animal farmers around the world!!!!
Love what you're doing, Derek. This is incredible and I'd love to see something similar in the states!
This is Fantastic Derek! Awesome video Thanks for sharing!
Great concept. Brilliant work by yourself and everyone involved. The future is fungi 👍
By far the best video I’ve watched on RUclips, and it is also inspiring me to do something similar that will help me to finance my dream of a sanctuary, where I can rescue as many animals as possible. Thanks Derek, and as always, thanks for the shots of Mrs America in the video
🥹 this is so emotional. Seeing the aisles and rows where normally anguish and pain lives, flourishing with beautiful mushrooms, growing with intentions of love and peace, makes me tear up.
Thank you, Derek 💚
Thanks to Little Mushroom Compny, and Smithy’s too👍🏼
I think those chickens in the video seemed alright?
I just want to say how impressed I am with your journey and what your goal is. I am a huge mushroom advocate, in more ways than one. I'm not sure if I'll ever become entirely vegan, coming from a BBQ capital, but I have implemented some of your recipes into my rotation to reduce my meat consumption. I'm hoping your excursion will bring greater awareness to the wonders of mushrooms and greater availability in the West. I'm rooting for your project and its success. Mushrooms are magic! 🍄
❤🍄🟫❤ THANK YOU Derek!!
Commenting to boost up the algorithm. This needs to be seen.
I agree! However, please stop repetitive music! So distracting!
Truly believe you and team are on the futuristic path for feeding planet.
What a fantastic idea! Mushrooms are a great source of protein and so many other critical nutrients. Transitioning existing infrastructure to mushroom farming is chef’s kiss (literally, lol)
Our future obviously^^ ATB to all of you, my friends🍀❤️🔥
I love your message. I love that you made the switch out of kindness. I love the way you adore your dog; it’s evident that you walk the walk of compassion. Thank you for changing the world.
Beautiful! Much love and respect, Derek! 💚🌿
Just wow... i am left speechless... thanks to everyone involved! Just one word: AMAZING
So excited for the future of plants! ❤
I couldn't help but become emotional watching this. My heart is so full for the teams involved. I am cheering everyone on and will be sure to buy double from my local grower to show the demand IS here in this little town in Florida. Thank you again for everything that you and Frankie Ms. America do to spread the message of compassion.
What comes next? I love this so much!
Me too, so clever
I grew up in a family of mushroom pickers. My father still doesn't know the correct names of mushrooms - but he knows what tastes good and what might kill us. We cook them exactly the way you cook them. For _many_ years. And we are not the first people to do this.
Still: thank you.
Show people how to be a little bit better in being people.
Derek rocks! ❤
Nothing but love for this exceptional idea and all the wonderful people involved in the project. We all need to work together to be better people and to make the world a better place! Hugs to you and Frankie Ms. America! 💚
Deep gratitude for you all! Let’s transform the world 💕🌎🐾🌿Thank you! 💕💕💕💕💕
Thank you so much Derek❤. From Chicken to mushroom to MAGIC. So pleased your dream has come to life. So much hard work goes on behind the scenes, and you share all your expertise with us. Wonderful recipes peppered with pearls of wisdom. Hugs to Frankie. Take care🙏Gale x
