My favorite part of season 2 was Geralt, Yen and Ciri finally coming together. Honorable mention to Geralt rejecting Triss' offer to spend the night. Lol
In season2 finale Yennefer wanted to sacrifice Ciri And Geralt put a sword to yennefer's throat. What's pure and cute about it? They are family in the books. In the show it seems the writers don't understand their relationship.
I really hope that in Season 3 we have more on screen family moments with the main trio. But I really hope that we get more Yennefer-Ciri bonding moments to firmly establish their bond. It needs to be believable for the next events in their story.
I love that how loyal Geralt and Yen are so faithful towards each other because after their first meeting they only kiss and sleep with each other. Yes, Yen tried to sleep with Istredd but she was so heartbroken with the wish that she wanted a rebound! Geralt rejecting Triss was a welcome twist because Yen would almost kill him if he did even if she didn't have her magic... Ciri would lose respect for her dad and trust him less with other women when her mom isn't around. They listened to the fanbase regarding the love triangle and chose Yen for Geralt!
@@JA-vu8my well he DID hesitate, he didn't kill Yen did he? And even though at the end he still hadn't forgiven Yen for betraying him, but deep down he still loves Yen and still wants her to be in his and Ciri's life and he asked Yen to train Ciri.

Oh, I LOVE this! 🥰❤️ For all that there are some amazing characters in this story, these three and their bond really are the heart and emotional core of the whole thing. Beautiful edit!
Geralt's action scenes are once again great and convincing that he is one of the most powerful people in existence. They exude incredible confidence in everything he does, he's incredibly charismatic and charming when he needs to be. Also, he can be very funny when he needs to be. Season 3 of The Witcher is at its best - but only when Cavill is on screen, and especially in the scenes between him and Ciri (Freya Allen). Such scenes bring your emotional core to life and the biggest reason to invest in your story.
I personally wanna see more of Triss and Geralt then the thing I liked most about season 2 was Geralts and Ciri relationship, just really having mixed feelings about Yenefer character now. She knew what Ciri meant to Geralt now before she even changed her mind “I didn’t know what you meant to him”, she ended up seeing that and still did the choices she did which I personally really didn’t like.
And yet the writers of the show removed the most important part of Geralt and Ciri relationship (meeting in Brokilon). Thus their meeting in s01e08 doesn't have the emotional impact it should have had. They also butchered Yennefer Ciri relationship. Netflix should hire better writers.
100% agree. This is the most important aspect in not just the show but for the entire witcher franchise. The books are all about Geralt/Ciri/Yen as an unlikely but very precious family. Really happy Netflix portrayed this family aspect so beautifully in episode 1 of season 3. I like the witcher universe primarily because of Geralt-Ciri bond and their characters, its just too precious. Fantasty aspects/monster slaying/medieval poliitcs is all secondary
For some reason I didn't notice any signs of love between Geralt and Yennefer, even though they kissed once in the season 2. What I really noticed is some sort of chemistry between Yen and Jaskier and even Kahir... Geralt was the coldest and the most indifferent person to Yen in the season 2. Even her friend, the mage from the season 1 (the one who studies monolyths, forgot his name) was warmer and more use to her...

You'd have to pity Ciri if she wanted to ever be a normal teen. She has a father figure, grandfather figure, mother figure, and a metric ton of older brothers. All of them are stunningly intense, dangerous people with serious boundary issues that nobody in their right mind would want to take the chance of upsetting. Rather intimidating for friends and boyfriends.
She was desperate and had an evil witch manipulating her. She also didn't know who ciri was and when she figured it out she didn't go through with it. Not to mention she was going to sacrifice her life to save Ciri. I think she really does care for her
Ciri wasn't hers when she did it. The good thing about Yen is that she has this resolve that she only looks out for herself, but at the end she can't help her kind nature; Like how she gave up escaping to Cintra to make sure Jaskier was okay; like how she didn't go through with sacrificing Ciri at the cost of the one thing that made her whole, her magic; and eventually sacrificing herself for the girl to the deathless mother.
They where still strangers when Yan kidnapped Ciri. But the more Yan bonded with Ciri the more she tried to fight the control the deathly mother had on her. I think the deathly mother may have had some control over Yan as we hear her whispering to Yan. In the end Yan couldn't go through with it as she's still a good person and her maternal feelings for Ciri was growing the longer they spent together. Now forget about the whole trip being a trap for Ciri. Because i know the whole betrayal of Yan makes it hard for most to pay attention and get touched by all the sweet moments between yan and Ciri because their so focus on the betrayal noone liked seeing. But despite the betrayal. We do see Yannefer get protective and maternal with Ciri through out 2x07. Like when she stepped infront of Ciri to block her view of the burt bodies of people who first took her in. In the trying to cross water scene how she cuffed Ciri's face and just smiled at her. The way Yan looked at Ciri everytime she said she was afraid. There's more. But you should get the point. When Yan went after Ciri she didn't know her. But the longer they spent with eachother the more attach she got to the girl.
Yennefer knew almost nothing about Ciri except for the obvious of her being a princess and her being Geralt child of surprise. For someone like Yannefer. When you're alone and desperate. It easier to kidnap someone whom is a stranger you have no emotional attachment to. The longer Yannefer spent with Ciri and the more she got to know her. The stronger her developing emotions and attachment to Ciri got. Yennefer spent the entire episode trying to not feel anything for the girl. But her compassion and maternal insict kept taking over. The longer she was with the girl. The harder it got to ignore her growing feelings for Ciri and in the end she couldn't go through with the sacrifice. Instead she ended up sacrificing herself for Ciri. That's how strong her maternal feelings for Ciri had already gotten. Ready to sacrifice everything for the girl she just met. Earlier this season Yannefer was still believing that her and Geralt feelings for eachother where fake. Than all of a sudden she wants to be with him again and I think Ciri has alot to do with Yennefer's change of heart. Yannefer always wanted to be a mother and Ciri a compassion ophan girl is her only chance to become one. When she was willing to sacrifice herself. Yennefer told Geralt that she realized her magic wasn't what she was missing. Maybe what she realized was that it was family and her wanting to be a mother.
