By "survive a week", I'm assuming there is an endgame where the tripods malfunction and the aliens die due to bacterial exposure like in the movie. I'm curious as to how long those days are supposed to last. I think it's a good idea overall though, so it can encourage repeat playthroughs with possibly no two playthroughs being completely the same.
Interesting, but I don't see the end object of this game???? If the Machines are like in the actual Tom Cruise Movie - and were indestructible with shield protections, then all I see is humans trying to run away and not to get killed which would get kind of boring. Man did not kill the Martians in the machines, an Earth virus did. That is if this game is following the actual movie.
The game looks great, but please stop claiming the videos are 4K, because they're not. RUclips isn't capable of showing videos in 4K (despite their claims). The greatest resolution available on RUclips is UHD. 4K is 4096 x 2160. UHD is 3820 x 2160.

Well they have shields, force fields to be exact, so it's impossible to take them down, but not if you kill them from the inside, or if they get sick and the shields go down.

One of the nicest details in my opinion is that the sound of the heat-ray is delayed if you are far away, along with any other sound.

They didn't. When the game comes out, you'll be able to use the 2006 Model and its respective sound effects from the film.
The 2005 models are in this video. They have different sounds for different tripods. The one at the end appears to be a commander uberpod
