i said this months ago, when you have to do 18 raids per week to keep up your gold upkeep, it's just impossible to do so without gatekeeping, the design is flawed.
@@Uki2QTanything will be helpful and yet AGS/SG ignore the majority of the options. Solo is great, but they give so little gold and the hardest raids are still in group play.
@@rc8929 yeah , imo they should have give full gold in solo raid and buff more gold for group raid , or just making solo raid up to latest dungeon with addition of hard mode would be perfect. this game is almost impossible to play for new/returner player because of the gatekeeping .
Same. I quit when thaemine came out and came back to try solo raids, but nothing changed. They just pushed the gatekeeping to after solo raids. Elixirs, transcendence, cards, gems, quality, t4, etc. It's all just too much for new and old players. It's also impossible to have alts enter any raids unless u swipe or nolife. Too many gold sinks and whatnot. Was fun but over now. Launch until valtan was def super memorable for me. Happy with the time I have now that I quit.
@@BuffPomsky *i had transcended normal 5 parts of my gears and elixir 40 for only 6kg i had to use everything they gave for free it took me 2 months to reach 1620 and catch up to echidna*
@pangkamotegames what about LOS 30? What about your roster level? Gz on elixir and transcendence but that's all rng. Also with only one char, gl honing from 1640-1680 for aegir ready since if u miss first week then there'll be reclear lobbies only. Ofc if u play at your own pace it doesnt matter, but if a player ever wants to play the newest raid theyll get gatekept hard cuz no solo. I wish they had solo raids catch up but also let ppl bring friends. So essentially an easier normal mode where one person doesnt cause a wipe.
@@BuffPomsky You don't need to hone to 1680. You can hone from 1640 to 1650, advance hone to 1660 and you are Aegir normal ready. You can progress at a slower pace with Aegir NM and then gradually progress to HM while you unlock more gear and Ark Passive. You have a very unhealthy way of playing this game. Solo raids will be added when a specific raid will become obsolete. If one truly is a casual player, he/she will never do end game raids. End game raids have always been for veteran, hardcore players, those who invest the time and resources to reach that threshold. A real casual player would do solo content up to Ivory Tower, and then wait until the next raids get a solo version and progress further.
I'm with you, they need to make the normal raids easier and By easier, I simply mean let someone who can carry, actually be able to carry the raid. You asked how Other MMO's do it: that's how. They reward someone who is overgeared and optimized the ability to be able to absolutely manhandle content other people are cutline for. That means: No raid wipe mechanics. No instakill gimmicks and no relying on your teammates for anything. Why are Valtan G2 and Thaemine G3 some of the most beloved gates in the game? Because people dying isn't an instant re. The argument against it is always "busser" but the current difficulty sure hasn't stopped them has it? It would allow lesser geared people the ability to clear on their own without feeling compelled to bus because of the difficulty and will also make efficient "HW" content that is actually low stress. I love the game is challenging, but that's what hard mode is for. Make the game hard and difficult then. Not when you're just starting out or hw.
The ironic part is, the full wipe mechanics feel so rewarding on solo raids - when you finally clear them. Guess Lost Ark is the perfect example of why a Souls-Like MMO is such a bad idea. The sad part is, the game is being carried by everything else it has to offer. Story, combat system, housing, and exploration.
for sure a random wipe at echidna snake mec don't feel good and i don't get why they keep doing this if they removed stuff like brelshaza gate 5 for kinda the same reason. idk
The main issues that create gatekeeping can be summed up as: Raids are too punishing The game ask you to do too many weekly Content came to NA too fast thus people were pushing faster and not wanting to waste their time. The game had no period where veteran players were chilling so they helped newbies. The power systems (cards, elixirs, and transcendence) make easy points for people to look at then judge if they should let you in. The game can only honestly bleed players and never bring in new ones that replace the amount of players it bleeds out. I dont expect the NA server to live another year at most or maybe two if something doesnt change.
@@AscendentGaming Do your own lobby where you don't require title or a certain number of clears. Easy. I barely obtained Covetous Master or whatever the 10x clear Echidna title is 2 weeks ago. Some people already had it in the 2nd week of the raid's release. I always did my own lobby, I recruited and kicked out whoever I wanted and problem solved.
@@Kalimdor199Menegroth running your own lobby requires knowing when to sidereal, I don't want to worry about raid leading, I just want to clear the raid.
@@AscendentGaming You can ask other members if they want to use sidereal. Otherwise, it is never too late to learn. If you know the timing, you can just stop dps a bit to ensure you do not miss it. It is not that hard. Some of you want to have the cake and eat it too. You don't want to make your lobby because you don't want to learn how to use sidereal, but at the same time you complain that other people don't want you in their lobbies. Sometimes you have to take the lead if you want things to get done.
The only way to get rid of gatekeeping is making content easy to the point you just need bodies. Basically to the point where you would just matchmake it. Add an easy mode, a group equivalent of solo mode that makes you progress slower. Removing all those would eventually force people to vet through discord before accepting people for all the end game content.
Love your perspective and channel my brother. Came back after I heard solos were a thing and playing casually / really enjoying it. Even before I quit playing initially, I knew I'd never be an end game coomer bc I never had a static or the time to prog...Only bought buses for gear, etc. I'm just happy I can play at my own pace without major fomo and feeling completely defeated from the start. I'll never be new raid ready and that's ok bc the mechs and combat of the game are so awesome. That said...here's hoping they up the gold for solo and if not it's fine. Cheers, keep up the good work.
The game is toxic because the only people that is left playing it, is the hardcore giga sweats, who has been molded by the Party Finder, and explodes when there is even a hint at something going wrong, because it delays their 18 weekly raids for gold that they have to get done, and its completely by design, to milk addicted players because of the FOMO and fear of getting gatekept. Sadly I don't see them ever changing the difficulty to such a degree that would decrease gatekeeping to the point that the casual playerbase can enjoy the latest content, that would upset their whales too much. For them to change it like that would require a massive drop in the player base, like a drop of maybe like 70% of the current players, for them to even consider it. But I hope they wake up to it at some point and makes the game flourish, it has so much potential, held back by greed. This is just ramblings of a lowly Solo Mode Player who likes to spend on skins. Peace. ✌
Biggest problem is many player are not playing in their pace. They are Discord channel for learning party’s. Just schedule a learning party or create a learning grp for a raid. But don’t expect someone will do for you. Move your ass out of your comfort zone and do something to learn and be better. Its in other games same. Last week learned Theamine G1 and G2. This week we cleared in 2 trys and currently progressing G3. Don’t expect top player will carry you through every raid.
The game is punishing but can be done with 6-7 now as you can see with busses. Bussing has become more common currently for thaemine and echidna as 70%+ of raid lobbies are advertisements for busses. I Had to block all bussers to actually see what lobbies are up. gatekeeping and bussing are both issues that go hand in hand. People will pay to get raids done just to transition/get into lobbies, you also will lose those players that are potential raiders, and lastly enables people to bypass the gatekeeping who can’t play their alt chars well or not know the raid into reclear lobbies-> worsening gatekeeping.
To me, gatekeeping really stems from the fact that they want to get raids done as quickly as possible because they have 6 characters worth of raids to do. That's basically 18 raids every week. If they get jailed because of not enough DPS or people failing mechs, that would make people gatekeep those types of players in future raids. So I feel like another thing they could do to help combat gatekeeping and the RNG aspect of the game is to lower the requirements to continue to progress gear. For example, lowering the first tier elixir requirements to 30 points to get the first set instead of 35 and also changing transcendence so that it only requires 6 tiers instead of 7 while keeping the same 5 level increment for each bonus. This allows for some pieces to be 1 star or 2 star without having to worry about needing restart because they don't achieve that "everything must be 3 star except 2 to finish transcendence".
Good points! And maybe, they can reduce the raids to ONCE weekly per character like people can choose 1 out of 3 raids (ex. Echidna, Thae, Voldis) to do per week to lessen gatekeeping. Yea, you’re actually right. I noticed that too. The gatekeepers just wanna finish their raids asap because they’ve got like 5 gold earner chars to do. And some of them are like semi free-to-play so they needed those raids so they can have gold to spend. Also, because of the mokoko express events, there are heaps of impostors lately.
Even the raids we like that we feel are "fair" are still difficult enough to need a way to weed out players. I think the same reason we like the game is the same reason why this game struggles with newer players in our region. The raids and the combat are not casual friendly, but they're very fun for those who are up for a challenge. Granted, knowledge cuts down that challenge and it becomes "homework" but those first few clears always feel satisfying for the effort you put in to get those clears. They're not impossible for people who are more casual, but they're likely going to progress at a different rate just like people in general learn at different rates in other aspects. Personally, I don't believe raiding should be our main source of gold. If we had other methods of gold income that are BETTER sources, we'd not be so gatekeepy with raids, and we'd just do the raids for "fun" after we got the items we needed. Of course, if we got an incentive along with it to help newer players, it'd be even better. One end-game system that I found almost ideal/perfect was how things were in PSO2 base game. The urgent quests were basically raids, but players were able to die and be revived by other players, so the threat of failure wasn't high. And there was an element of difficulty for those who wanted to do well, avoiding and countering attacks and such. It was quite casual friendly and as a not very casual player, I enjoyed it a ton before they destroyed the game with NGS.
Two days ago I had a 1620 artist in my Voldis (Hardmode) lobby and she was so thankful that we didn’t gatekeep her. She hat full 10 gems and roaster level 300 btw. This game is doomed. I really like the game besides all the problems that leads to gatekeeping. Lost Ark was my first and will be my only MMO which I grinded really hard. Time to go back to Singleplayer only games I guess.
returning player here and the gatekeeping is unreal as you say. I agree, difficulty needs to drop and giving more "POWER" to new players needs to happen, IE, dmg increases for mokoko's increase mokoko level to 1600 or so - and give more ways to get LOS30 You need to have REASON to bring in new players to the raids. Otherwise there's no incentive, to bring them as they are a detriment.
Game is in a decrepit state, on life support imho. Can't stand anyone that white knights AGS or says AGS is cookin tbh. How do you let your game lose 90%+ of its playerbase? Only a concentrated pool of hardcore players are left, and they have so much brainrot and so little free will. And their behavior is a product of the crappy practices AGS still refuses to address. Doesn't matter if they visit Korea either. If they are still chained by the overlords, nothing will ever change. I think it's honestly time to pull the plug, will stick around for T4 a little and then put down the game longterm.
So funny seeing streamers like Stoopz praising terrible systems like transcendence and whatnot too. They're just as responsible for making the game where it is since all whales want to continue having bussing and strict gatekeeping.
Just quit this casino online, there are milions amazing games out there, to play, to have fun, to help you relief your stress after a long day at work, rather then simulating a second job. I m so glad i left the game half a year ago, greetings mate!
IMO, and this will go against the current trend, Lost Ark does not have a bigger gatekeeping problem than any other MMO. Usually the people complaining about gatekeeping are those who pushed their alts to end game content without properly equipping them. Those people are the ones who flame in Reddit whenever lobbies reject them. I also pushed alts to 1620, but until I did some Elixirs, some lv 9/10 gems on them and a bit of Transcendence, I did not apply to lobbies for Echidna for example. Once I equipped my 1620 alts properly that would minimize pug gatekeep, I went to do that content. I always laugh at Eclipse players who PM me in-game whenever I reject them in my lobbies because they bring their lv7 gem shitty alts to Echidna/Thaemine. I mean... do you own lobby mate and lets see if you recruit similarly geared people. You won't. People who complain about gatekeeping, they themselves gatekeep others.
I 100% agree with you. The endgame players expect you to trust them fully with their less invested characters. Unless you are in a static that is experienced with one another, chances of you clearing a raid with pugs despite multiple reclear is always lower than expected
@@kodra23 Even in statics things do not work the way people want them too, especially statics which involve doing raids on the entire roster. On main chars, raids usually went fine, but on alts I couldn't say the same. There are several reason for that. 1. Some people did not properly equip their alts to do that content, but they wanted to do it nevertheless. 2. Just because you play your main properly, doesn't mean you play your alt properly too, especially if it is a different class than your main. After I saw how my group performs on alts, I dropped out and did a static only for main chars only. With pugs it is 50/50. If your statics is good, then yeah, pugs are worse. If your static is bad, pugs are better.
@@Omegeddon The solution for that is simple. Make your own lobby. 1500+ with lv7 at Valtan/Vykas is a lot more than it is needed to clear. That's requirement for speedrun even. If you take other such people in your lobby, you will breeze through these raids. But I guess it is easier to join an existing lobby than making one, and then complain about gatekeeping.
@@Kalimdor199Menegroth If I had 7 other npcs to fill the slots with sure. I made lobbies and nobody joins. Its all either bussing or 1580+ whale lobbies. Why the fuck would I pay somebody to bus me thru content I could clear on my own? Besides if you're going to bus all the content away whats the point of playing the game? Can't get in with the whales without LOS and Roster 300 fine whatever. Can't get in to run with noobs if nobody applies. On content that was actually appropriate for my ilevel you can get dps but no supports because they have the privilege to pick whales so you sit at 6/8 for 2 hours then disband. I'm not gonna spend all day fighting a game to try to play it so I moved on to games that are actually well designed and worth my time.
Only way to end gate keeping will be to change the character inspection screen to only show i lvl and base stats. If u cant see gems cards trancendance elixer ect. U cant gate keep. Thats how it should have always been. If u have the ilvl you can do the raid period.
I think one issue, even for people that are wanting to get better at the game and get to hardcore content, is that it’s impossible to even practice. Once you get to thaemine, you can’t even get into a group to practice and actually learn the raids. Watching guides only goes so far and the real learning comes from experience. Solo raids are a great idea but even they are soft-capped on the true experience of the raids.
IT's why solo raids should catch up to latest raids. Even if it's only normal and slightly adjusted mechs, the person HAS to learn some basic mechanics and patterns since it's only them. But veterans, korean players, and streamers will never let this happen since they want ppl to play with and bus.
I 100% have no problem puting the game down even whit all the money and time invested, just give me a new game to catch me,like Lost Ark,since then I'l keep casualy playing. Its not the gatekeeping that burns me,Its the god damn upgrades. I work 9-5,play 2-3h a day at best, farm for a month just to get fuck all nothing.
They need to 1 make raids work in such a way that if you fuck up a mech only you die and 2 remove the ability to check people's gear AT ALL. We used to gatekeep by tripod lvl until it was impossible to check and we moved to something else. Remove all of it and there's nowhere to move the goalpost anymore, just go in and give it a fair shake, 9/10 times is not a jail. You cleared the raid everyone is happy. Also 100% of the progression in the game is related to damage in one way or another, in a game with no dps checks...we gatekeep based on damage. We fail/jail because people don't know and fail mechs, not because we don't have enough damage.
imagine a fights is designed around having lvl 8 9 gems and ppl apply with full 7s with not prior upgrades. the idea is that you suffer your way with others until succes and build on from there. if you do not have a group or friends there is no measurement of improvement and you leave it to chance whoever becomes your party member. ive done some hours of progging thaemine hm g3 and it was a dreadful experience. there were many deaths resets where you were not at fault but someone got animation locked/didnt pay attention or whatever got deleted and it was a re. if you did not have the clear you would get removed from groups that sometimes even only half of them had. my definitive conclusion is this: you need to know someone to get somewhere do not rely on randoms to just take you in. take responsibility in the team/group game and invest into your group. game is hard dont try to fight it alone
Why would anyone want to not be able to check applicants gear ? Except people ashamed of their characters ? I do not play this game to carry people that have nothing/very little invested into their chars (event gems no elixers etc etc) I am not looking to make my raids harder/longer because I have accepted a zdps bozo by accident because I don't have a way to check their gear beforehand
Reason being how the game is designed and you are required to gatekeep majority of the time even if you're generally a nice person. Pretty sure most ppl who play Lost Ark or any other MMO don't mind grindy games anymore but this game is something else which ends up getting too toxic at some point cause of the game design once again. I don't think the devs actually play the game at all sometimes and they just do what they want where it's more profitable for their company rather than actually making the game good. Don't get me wrong I like the class combat etc but that's about it now a days
They should probaly add filter options to partys that give u the option to auto deny people that never cleared the raid. Then Ban bussing or give a real bussing lfg, where u can basicly buying yourself in a bus where u can actually add a shop for clear system. Then those clears wont add towards normal lfg. So you need to actually clear it yourself once to get into the filter, but dont add x amount requirements. Also dont show titels when inspecting via lfg.
*Fail 1 stagger check on Carl* *Players vote to kick*. The community is just a bunch of whiny cry babies. I got friends to play with but they don't get on as much as me and we dont have time since the only time they want to get on and play games is after 10pm which by then its already getting late. Like I am so glad they added solo Legion raids so that I can just run them by myself and get them done. Plus there are so many mechanics to remember and I am too afraid to let people know I haven't done it before and only watched a video. Like I need in game experience to actually understand the mechanics but no one wants to teach because I need to know the mechs 100% inside and out and do them perfectly every time otherwise I am not allowed to do them
You said it. The only way to stop gatekeeping is to hide roster level and card set. Anything that requires months of gameplay to achieve should not be visible, because if it is you will never get new players in. Nobody would grind for months to get los 30 or roster level 200 without any content. Making the gameplay easier doesnt help the situation. Gatekeeping will still exist, and gameplay will be worse overall. I consider myself a hardcore gamer and every game i play i try to min max and be the best i can be. Week 1 after returning to the game i had roster lvl 120, cleared all the solo raids up to brel, and somehow got in kakul group and kayangel group, instead of doing them solo first try full clear easy. Every week after that i have been constantly rejected from kakuls and kayangel lobbies, which as i said easily cleared the first week, just by seeing a guide while my character was 1540 and week 2 was 1560. The content was super easy and people still gatekept me, they didnt care, i have deep dive 18 and they wouldnt take me because no los 18 or dd 30. Unless you hide the roster level and cardset, and generally anything that takes a long time to get people will gatekeep, and there will be no new players. If i am struggling, no casual player will be able to get in lobbies, even if they swipe, unless they completely whale out, and there arent many whales.
The design of the game makes your roster/character risky. SG/AGS made the game so time intensive/difficult (higher raids) a lot of players don’t have time to risk it.
@@rc8929 Easy fix, get in discords, get in guilds, and require roster level pics etc. At the moment that is required for new players to maybe get a raid. A new player wont do it because he isnt commited to the game. A seasoned player will.
I just came back from 7 months of dealing with the passing of my father-in-law to find mine and my wife of 14 years' guild Titans to now be defunct. Fortunately we don't have the time to prog now as our lives have changed. But i am enjoying SOLO immensely. It was the one thing I always wanted and I dont even care it doesn't cover current content. I hate people and I have a disdain for the gap RMT has created over time. I am happy. But I am sorry for those of you that are still suffering gatekeeping in this game.
removing wipe mechanics means raids would get extremely easy to the point you can just brute force it. nobody wants that even if you think you do the solution is to reduce Wipe mechanics to just 1 per gate instead of 4 or 5 in certain raids, and if the wipe mechanics does happen limit it to player not party. another is to add an Easy Mode where Wipe MEchanics dont exist and progressively increase diff to Normal then Hard. easy = no wipe mechanics Normal = 1 Wipe mechanic Hard = Full Raid Full wipes
@@wdadwdwdwadw8604 Why not, it would be better? Play with your 6 roster char for every week. It is time consuming, not everyone has the time for that. People would definitly agree. Normal and Hard has not much difference at all. Its better to remove wipe meachnic. That's why hardmode exist. This should be challenging and untouched (no nerf). Nobody will do easy mode when solo mode exist. Maybe, you will get similar reward just like solo. You need also time to find people. They already nerf the gold reward insanly. It doesn't make sense anymore to make an easy mode extra.
The problem isn't only on the new player base but on the hardcore player base as well. Let look at the requirements for the latest content: - Time / Money to have your character at an "acceptable" raid level - Skill of execution aka hands and/or commitment to learn every pattern and practiced to the point of no mistake - 7 other like minded like skilled/gear person willing to shared their time and accept other peoples mistake or lacking in the above 2 requirement Even for those in static it isn't like everything is rainbow and sunshine. Especially in the west where we have meter, it is very easy for us to see who is the weak link of the raid or can inspect the gear and wonder if this guy had a lvl 10 gem like me or a +25 weapon maybe we'd have more dps to clear. This is all before we add the other human factors: I don't like this guy's attitude, I can't stand her voice, or something as innocent as 'sorry our schedules just don't match. I hate to be the next arm chair developer and say, "all they need to do it is X". It is a complex problem where they can alleviate but dialing down any of the core stress points above. But there is no escaping the SG is intentionally hoping to turn the stress points above into swiping.
Honestly, i quit because of gatekeeping then returned when solo raid came out, and will not touch any group content until i can do basically everything solo, i really enjoy the game but when brel came out it started to feel like a second job, i hope they find a way to make easier to do group solo and keep the people that sweat entertained, otherwise people like me will simply drop out again
In WoW you have the LFR mode that put the casuals together and they can enjoy the raid experience while getting low grade end game gear, LOA is a korean game and they want to milk Whales.
@@Minotking surely thats totally reasonable to have transcendance tier 7 for a echidna hard, not just 5 or smth because that will surely make the difference even tho u actually know what to do and do it well. In the end my expierience is the more of a gatekeeping ego players have the worse they perform in any content.
For any hardcore gamers out there: Getting a hell title is a great way to let people know you are (most likely) good at the game. Speaking from experience, demon hunter at roster level 140 reduced my gatekeeping by about 50%. Of course there are people that dont care whether you have a hell title but for most people, they assume you play much better than an average guy with your roster lvl (which is true unless you somehow got hard carried all the way). This is not a solution for the average person and you probably wont have fun without a friend with you.
I don't care hell titles, they are not part of the game. I take anyone who sends me a request first when I make my own parties and it doesn't matter if they are bad at this game. I don't gatekeep at all but the amount of people that just leave my lobby once they see me doing this shows what the community has come down to.
@@StrifeHale I don't see how what you are saying makes any sense at all. First of all how are hell titles "not part of the game"? They are obviously part of the game, that sentence definitely needed better wording to be understood by anyone other than you. Secondly, putting many new players in a lobby pretty much means you are likely not clearing that raid, even if that raid is vykas, but especially if it s a newer raid. You should know this and have seen this many times if you really make and play in such lobbies. This is exactly the reason why people leave your lobbies: they know it is not clearing and so they dont want to waste their time. You might not care about your time but you should at least understand that some people can not lose multiple hours a day wiping raids because new players don't read guides and cant play mechs/ don't do any damage to the boss and have to be carried/ don't talk at all and don't ask others how to fix what they are doing wrong. Not everyone has 1-2 characters like you, most players have 6 and care about their time, and that s not an immoral thing, it makes complete sense.
@@ilias-4252 Very few percentage of player base even try to attempt and then clear inferno mode for titles so it not part of the game or gets you anything useful like honing mats other than title. Most of the players who leave the lobby is at the party phase searching for players not in game. I never had any problem with my raids and don't get jailed, it's just a you problem. Furthermore, I see a lot of 200+ roster LOS30 lobbies getting jailed even for easy raids like Brel and Akkan so this just shows juiced lobbies doesn't even matter it's just the toxic community made by the people from west. No one even asked you to play that many characters or asked you to farm that much gold, one character is all you need. If you have more than 2 characters and raging about gatekeeping and wasting times, all I can think is y'all a bunch of addicts or don't touch grass outside having no life other than playing this game like a job simple as that.
@@StrifeHale As i said, saying "hell titles are not part of the game" is just wrong, cause as we can all see, they are in the game and therefore part of it... The point of hell raids is that anyone can go in and get the title if they are good enough and have the patience and skill to clear it. "Very few percentage of player base" have the titles because most people don't have the skill and/or patience and mental needed to get them. Pretty much everything you are saying is you hard coping and gaslighting yourself. If you consistently get non-overgeared people with 150 roster and below to clear raids like brel and above you are surely getting jailed some of the runs, and most of the runs you need multiple attempts to clear each gate. This is exactly the reason why people gatekeep newer players. Saying otherwise is just lying to yourself. Your last sentence also makes no sense, the people that rage about gatekeeping are people like you (evidently), not high roster people with 6 characters.
i believe that a good solution to the gatekeeping is to make everything solo-able, from my experience since the newest update i have been having the time of my life doing the raids by myself and slowly progressing on my own without having some vet breath down my neck for doing stuff i don't know how to do. But i don't see AGS doing that at all.
Putting an end to gatekeeping is a straightforward solution. I've advocated for this since the game's initial release. Eliminating wipe mechanics entirely from raids is the key. If the game seems too simple for hardcore players, then introduce wipe mechanics and greater rewards in all the hell modes for them. This allows casual and new players to truly enjoy the game and fosters a welcoming and supportive community. The necessity of wipe mechanics to increase raid difficulty has always baffled me. It seems like a cheap and lazy method to make a raid challenging. Consider the normalized content in Lost Ark; there's no need for wipe mechanics when you must learn to evade boss patterns or risk dying from excessive damage.
I’m sure veteran players are willing to help and carry players to enjoy clearing raids together without raid wipe mechanics. It will be similar to the culture in Warframe, where there’s multiple memes of a veteran player adopting a new player. After all, it is just a game ❤.
@@Kalimdor199Menegroth Toddlers can hardly reach the keyboard. I enjoy solo modes and would appreciate them even more if the gold/material rewards were on par with group raids. If this were the case, more players might favor solo modes over group raids. It's important to remember that toxic players often result from the design of group raid content. Players should be rewarded for the time they invest in the game. This is a concept simple enough even for a toddler to grasp.
@@kodra23 I completely agree that it fosters a better community within the game and motivates well-equipped players to assist new and casual players in completing raids and acquiring gear. It's a win-win scenario, unless you're not fond of winning.
@@Wrecksneffect Material rewards are higher than group raids, but gold is lower and I think that is a good trade off considering how easy they are. You might get more gold once they implement bound gold from them. If the gold reward would be the same between solo and group raid, nobody would bother to do group raids anymore. There would be no incentive. Lost Ark is group raid oriented MMO at the end of the day. I do agree that some level of player toxicity is the result of group raid content. But from my experience, it is rarely the raid's fault, but the player's fault. By now I did thousands of raids since this game launch + my stunt on RU server prior to global release. A lot of the time it is player stupidity that resets the raid. Just look at Echidna raid. In all the parties I was involved, DPS was never the issue. Players would get full goblin mode for no reason, probably wanting to get MVP/Cruel Fighter at the end of the raid and they die like absolute morons, not willing to respect patterns and mechanics.
The Problem i had is I wantet ro help everyone and made alot of learning…but learned my self this making me frustrating bc the raids zu punishing…and always restarts etc….
Been there. Then you wonder where your time/gold goes and you find out that you're the only one throwing battle items for the past 4 hours and no one responds when you try to help them. Slowly found out that some people arent worth helping because they dont respect my time and bussing solved everything and made the game enjoyable for me again.
Argos has revives and there was still gatekeeping back then. Guardian raids have revives with no wipe mechs but there is still a certain level of gatekeeping. So having revives like FF14 isn't gonna change anything. Personally I think this is a multi-faceted problem. 1) Make Normal Mode have either no wipe mechs / unlimited revives but keep all mechs execution exactly the same as Hard Mode. Give NM players the Solo Raid buff options so supports are totally optional in NM. Raid rewards would consist of a higher percentage of bound gold vs tradable gold whereas Hard Mode can stay exactly the same with wipe mechs and more unbound gold rewards and without the Solo Raid buffs. Balance the power spikes we get from NM and HM, no more Trans 7 only from HM bullshit. 2) Improve the guild system. There is zero incentive for veteran players to join an established guild and make connections when they can just split their alts into multiple guilds and get 6-10k bloodstones a week with minimal effort. Instead, make raid rewards increase significantly when clearing with guild members, be it bound gold or honing mats, or give guild members a dmg buff when doing raids together, or make guild buffs usable in raids. ANYTHING to encourage actually raiding with a guild so people actually make connections and actually play this game like a MMO. The mentor system should fall under the guild branch so guild leaders are actually incentivized to recruit new players. Right now I don't even dare to ask my friends to play Lost Ark.
I honestly love the raids in Lost Ark. It has high stakes, fun mechanics that really test your skills. I think the game should create a mentoring system which incentivizes veteran players, creating a culture of supporting and nurturing new players. These gatekeepers used to struggle in learning the mechs and probably had to spend millions of hours of gameplay to be good at clearing raids. So answering the “What’s in it for me?” or addressing the “I could care less with teaching newbies” by putting an incentive may be a good place to start?
Make it like FF14 where you can have a match making system. And when a “stronger” player uses the matchmaker, they get x2 rewards and if they get paired with sprouts, they get x3 rewards . That way the game gives an incentive for veterans to do the raid with new players and be suitably rewarded.
To be honest. I have friends that have been begging me to prog normal Thaemine and other raids with them, but I always told them "no no no" cause I don't have time. The game is so accelerated, I barely have time to do hard mode raids on my main and do other hw raids for gold. The past few weeks since Echidna came out, I been playing with them and progging Thaemine normal since we are not on an accelerated schedule anymore. I love the game right now way more than being accelerated. Being accelerated makes you feel like you don't have time to waste at all and must do all your raids to catch up to end game, so no time to prog or have low exp reclears, just want to exp reclear and move on fast.
Normal mode for any raid should have zero wipe mechanics. It should be catered to all kinds of people so they can progress. The fact that even normal mode is so punishing that it essentially requires competent people to gatekeep, otherwise they will simply never clear any raid. The reason this game cannot grow is because it actually requires a pretty high skill and patience threshold. In something like CS:GO, if you suck so much that you don't even know how to buy an armor or a weapon, you will be given the silver 1 rank so can play with other clueless noobs like yourself and actually win games and have fun. If CS:GO was like LA, you basically need to start off the game as an LEM otherwise experienced people would not want to waste their time on you. This is why 90-95% of the player base are hardcore or semi-hardcore players. I know those games are very different, but my point still holds - LA does not have a well developed niche for casual players and those who need time to become decent at the game or those who are simply not good enough for how difficult the raids currently are. There are many solutions to those issues, but many of them result in SmileGate losing money short-term, so I don't really know if we would be able to grow the player base any time soon.
Only make 2 gates for new contents or don't chain the gates together "ex: you can do g3 1st before g1" these change can reduce gate keeping. One of the reason vets hate to play with newer players, is due to the fear of being jailed in an odd gate.
yea and I have seen new players in area chat asking for help because they can not beat the solo content. I wish these creators were preaching for a sherpa system, please just push for it. It has great success in other games.
@MisoxShiru 1) you are pretty much repeating everything I said in my comments in your previous videos, but its still good to know you also see the problem now. I told you before that solo raids are a joke, that the expresses are helping new players and that T4 was the worst thing so far for the game because it creates segregation. Your estimate of need to play 2 months to hit T4 are unrealistic as well, your first estimate was way closer - ~6 months : let me remind you the average GOLD (no mats) cost of 1580->1600 is 205k, 1600->1610 is another 182k, 1610->1620 another 266k, that sums up that the average cost of 1580->1620 before you even include ANY Orehas or crystal or leapers that you will NOT have is 653k of RAW GOLD that NOTHING was done to reduce so far before you can even start fantisizing about going to T4. 2) You want to start solving the problem of gatekeeping? - start by BANNING BUSSING, once the new players have no busses to turn to they will form groups to prog more often, of course its only the start of the solution you also need to decouple characther progression from raiding to some degree to make sure there are other ways to grow.
At the end of the day, gatekeeping won’t ever go away. At the end of the day, there’s solo raids. At the end of the day, people just want to pick the best of the litter and reduce the likelihood of having someone like that breakdancing chick Raygun from the Olympics at the end of the day.
The best way to remove gatekeeping is to remove party finder and force people to use matchmaking system. put a timer on requeing if you recently re a matchmaking party and hide roster and titles while you are in matchmaking content. for the first month there would be a lot of leavers but eventually people will just opt to do the raid bc it would be faster than queing up for matchmaking over and over. of coulse you can still invite your friends to a party and que for a lobby so you can still play with statics. this would force bus lobbies to either sell in discord or promote in local chat.
that is terrible, that would make life difficult for everyone instead of a few. that is i will drag everyoen down with me because you refuse to take me in your party type of mentality. that is 100x more toxic
This would turn gold runs into guardian raid matchmaking where people dont use potions because of first 3 free ressurects and not throw battle items because they expect after 5 res that 1 juicer can carry them. All that would do is make people who can carry quit and every matchmaking would become jail after jail. It's much easier to ask player base to watch a 10min guide on raids and not fomo and take the time to play and learn the class. There wouldnt be a gatekeep issue if the entitlement issue in the community wasnt so big. Why is it that person who dies first in all 3 gates ends up always bidding first on everything and/or doesnt respect the no bid titled runs that they join? They know they get carried and take advantage of other peoples time then resources after. That's a big issue that caused a great distaste for people in the community.
The biggest issue is when you lose a veteran you are likely losing 6+ characters from party finder so technically you need 6 new players to join to equalize that loss because new players just starting will only have that one character that is using the new event pass so in that regard catering to the hardcore players is needed just as much to catering to the new players. In reality the alt system that this game is designed around will never succeed. It's too much for the casuals and eventually burns out the hardcore players.
@@Minotking clearly you don’t understand the reason why I said what I said. 😂 Bravo! Watch the video again if you dont understand and then come back to your own comment and please delete it.
If the game didn’t have multiple power systems such as cards that are pretty much time gated, there would be less gate keeping as it standardises the player base. Toxic players wouldn’t be able to gatekeep with more balanced power system unless you actually enter the raid and observe the player’s performance. Then again, if a player gets kicked from a hw party because of their poor performance, would you call the raid party toxic?
@@kodra23 Majority of toxic players be rmt players. You can honestly tell some I seen a player who was 120 roster level with no title but literally had all lvl 10 gems with a full Los Set(30 piece card set) and they got mad at me (I have level 7 and 8 gems) and expected me to out perform them? 🤣 these streamers (certain ones) will literally act like their isn’t a lot of toxic players because majority of them play with overly stacked players who never got caught so of course they would barely see the toxic players.
@@Too2Cold honestly if that acclaimed person has full level 10 gems, los 30 but still can’t clear hw raids, it’s def their fault. I have and seen people outdps full level 10s with event gems because we know which patterns to greed but that’s beside the point. Streamers are such a minority in the lost ark population. Let them be carried or what not, their job is to make content. And on the topic of rmt, it further proves the point of the systems that the game placed. People won’t find the necessities to rmt if such systems are easy to complete and attain in the first place
as for Raid wipe mechanics, they are fine as long as is 1 mechanic that wipes. people love to complain but if the diff of raids is reduce to a level that is too low people would get bored, for example Valtan and Vykas level of Raids should be the standard for Lost Ark, have 1 Wipe mechanic per raid/Gate and the others are normal mechs that dont wipe everyone just wipe the player that failed.
People like that "fly_roud" guy in your chat just should not exist in these games. How easy is to tell everyone to get better at a game where you can't even get the chance to play with other people because of the gatekeeping.
@@ShoopSurf Because nobody will play with them. Healers are in demand so they go to the whale parties instead of helping noobs so you end up with a 6/8 party at best for an hour then you disband
The problem with gate keeping and the difference with Lost Ark and FFXIV is TIME. Your progress in ffxiv raids is locked once a week and your character progress and loot is tied to that character. You have all week to get your clear, nobody really talks about how Sunday and Monday night reclears get pretty toxic in ffxiv because most people have their clears out of the way well before then. Once you get that raid gear, you are for the most part set. You don’t have to spend MORE TIME upgrading and MORE TIME farming to get gold. It’s the systems in this game that are horrible for people’s time and a create bad environment
@@MinotkingNo it is. You don’t have to do 18 raids a week. The problem is that raids are unforgiving. Imagine getting stragglers get killed from normal patterns before getting to stage break thaemine or echidna basement. Messing up 1 punishing pattern will lead to death. You will in-fact start discriminating those you allow into your lobby.
@@alvnphmn You do have to do 18raids a week if you want to keep up with the fast content release pace we have in the West. Also if patterns were not dangerous I would not be playing this game. The fun of the combat (atleast for me) is to play to the limit of my characters, to greed damage as much as I can while knowing I could die if I make a big enough mistake in my positioning or timing.
@@Minotking I’m pretty sure the discussion was why gatekeeping is prevalent due to the game design. Not because YOU enjoy it or what not. No you DO NOT HAVE to do 18 raids a week. You are encouraged to do so FROM THE DESIGN of the game. There is a difference.
@@alvnphmn Unless they make the raids like a trixion dummy where you have no way to die there will still be gatekeeping. Also, if in order to progress my characters I need the amount of gold that is given by 18 raids, wouldn't that mean that I have to do 18 raids? I'm confused
Imo, they should focus future raids more on flex mechs for raids with nearly the same difficulty as they are now. So nobody needs to get gatekeep and can play with many friends as they want. Max 8 players ofc, minimum 1 or 2. Then we could use the matchmaking more and better instead of the groupfinder. Ofc they also need to adjust things so people have a real reason to push their characters. I ones played a game where the Raids where laways for 4 players but u could go in alone. It was undoable alone but if you and one other friend was juiced to max you could also do it with just 2 players. For me thats a good solution for the future of lost ark. Not now, i mean far future raids because its hard to adjust raids for flex groups afterwards.
The reason why there's no gatekeeping in FF14 is because there's no systems that make you stronger besides gear and ontop of that the difference between BiS gear and minimum gear in FF14 isn't big enough for people to care + getting minimum required gear is also extremely easy. So FF14 raids come down almost solely to player skill (Which in FF14 means, how fast you can learn essentially) and that is something you can't accurately measure. If there's no metric to judge people by, then there's not gatekeeping, its as simple as that. LOA got themselves into this situation by creating so many different power systems to try to suck more money out of the game. And there's the obvious that FF14 raids is 4 per week and it's completely optional because you don't require the gear from raids to do any other content.
It is the devs to blame for this tho, cuz introducing mechanics that are punishing as a group when individuals make mistake just means gatekeeping have to exist if these raids are made homework as they are. The shackles are put there to force people to swipe and that's how the game always have been. So you probably shouldn't expect quick and easy raid as a f2p as the raiding experience is so much better when you overgear them, and again, that's designed as a way to monetize.
I wish I could play my main more instead of having to spend most of my time doing homework on undergeared alts that get gatekept. With the way transcendence and elixirs are there is no way I want to go through that on my alts so the gate keeping is only gonna get worse!🙄
The amount of people who gatekeep JUST because of LoS 30 is insane on EU. I can be 20 ilvls above, and have better gems, but people only care about the damn cards. And as someone who started end of last year, im still missing 35 cards, and have 12 selectors atm. What am i supposed to do, just cause i cant get some BS rng card? Hell, i get gatekept from hard brelshaza on a 1600 character! and im a roster 170, ive done it tons of times. Its ridiculous
Roster level 170 is also extremely low. Also, 1600 is low for power. You don’t have 40 set elixir and no transcendence. Understand, this is the way the game is. Experienced players need so much gold/power via raids that any red flags from a player is too risky. Most players don’t have 40 hours a week to play and be stuck in a single raid for hours and hours. Just not worth it and thus gatekeeping is intense.
@@rc8929 brother we're talking about brelshaza. You can clear that shit with a toothpick. And roster 170 isn't really "low". It's over 1000h of playtime, and like I said, I started 31st of December, it's not like I'm gonna make 50 characters and play the story on them just to farm roster. There's 0 reason I should be gatekept from stuff like Akkan and brelshaza, despite having a 1619 breaker, just needing 1 more level to get 40 set, and all that because I don't have LoS, despite being top dmg of almost every raid I go into. Hell, did thaemine yesterday first time, had another brawl king breaker with los30 and level 10 gems, and like 10 levels under me be beat by me with level 8 and 7 gems and no LoS30. People are just blinded by cards
This is the reason I keep leaving the game. Combined I left the game for over a year now, and I don't regret any second of it, but I always think of what if I did keep playing, how juiced my roster would be. For context, on hard mode brelshaza release, on one of my characters I was trying to clear g2 (which was prokel at the time), for 16-20 hours combined over 2 days. That just triggered this attitude of mine, where this is happening again, I just won't care, and leave again. The thing is, you just get left behind so much, that you're gonna be the one who is going to get gatekept, and you're just left behind to such a degree, that in no possible way you could catch up.
Reducing amount of farming characters to 3 would solve the problem mostly (as well as supporters rework, which is unfortunately not gonna happen ever tbh). The main idea behind that is to make daily routine easy and free some time for players so they notice that and finally start think: "I shouldn't be in a hurry anymore, now I can chill while doing activities so I don't care about fails and restarts that much anymore, now I can spend this time doing collectibles or chatting or _____ (your option)". I quitted the game until the "bright future" because I hate seeing players who can't endure being inside raid even 1 more minute because they're so exhausted and in rush because of stupid Asian game design. When I tell to them: "Aren't you came to the game to enjoy raiding? Why you try to finish it asap like someone promised to pay for each saved second? And people are mad at me because of that. If I ask for restart not in 20 first seconds of raid - I got attacked in chat immediately and quickly become an enemy for everyone." Lost Ark is definitely dying and very fast and new updates shows only the fact that game designers are stuck at the first gate of the "How to make multiplayer games" raid for years.
game should have option to choose easy casual raids, like no 1 shot bullshits mechanics and can tank dmg, i dont care if less rewards and slow progress, as long as i can enjoy to play the character i want and can still progress.
You said you see only 2 solutions for fixing gatekeeping, but what about third? What if they just leave raids as difficult as they are, but add an option to play with as many players as you want? So you make party learning, wait 5min, you have 3-4 people in, and than you go in raid Cause for learning right now the most difficult thing to find supports, and even if you can go duo, it gonna be better than not do a raid at all Solo raids are good thing, but to give a chance to play with friends gonna be better for game than just solo, so even duo mode gonna change game in a good way Yeah, make this thing is gonna be hard but this is THE BEST solution that can only exist, cause after solo raids release i think this thing is not as unreal as before, and maybe one day we gonna see raids for any number of players
I have a 1620 Main and die Quit few months ago. I now came Back for solo raids. Sadly i cant Play the new raids altough i got the ilvl for it. They need to Release the solo Ports for new stuff as well. Just too much hussel to find a learning group
just wanted to give my 2 cents to this : so i bus on EU and i see the issue myself . The biggest issue is us bussers getting imposters into the existing lobbies. I dont condone me bussing or other ppl, but this the only really good way to make a lot of gold instead of cashing in. I also for myself like the difficulty by playing with more effort with less ppl
I always said and always will. Wipe mecha is dumbest mecha ever. One person dies and everyone gets punished for it. A lot of people say they wouldn't play game but I say its BS because if they didnt quit up to this point they wont after anyways. So my point would be these but they never would change them as Miso said: 1. Replace wipe mecha with massive aoe damage that deals 85% max health. (Never gonna happen) 2. My main idea was to say to have only 1 main gold earning character and make alts like OG MMORPG treating new char as if new account and you have to do all engravings and cards again. But game is more like path of exile, diablo with idea to replay on diff classes. So the new idea is to set one character as main and when you set your 5 gold earners they will be basically boosted to the same level, gems, cards, hones for that week. 3. Idea above would basically remove the need for alts besides doing dailies for silver or some horizontal grind. 4. It would also remove stupid powerpass. Not sure whos idea was it but it was dumbest thing they ever could do since the only ones who benefits the most out of it are end game players and new ones get punished by it while returning getting in-between. P.S. Imagine playing Dark Souls 3 you start new game and getting auto boosted to final boss, it might be fun if you understand something and beat in a long run but you missed the whole 99% of the journey to that point which makes it fun. Probably most would just quit game. Also the problem with new players could be they ads on loading screen to get gear mats from argos and oreha but it is not a solo dungeon and new player even if it had materials wouldn't know you can just upgrade epic ones to +15 to bypass the oreha and argos straight up to valtan + they didnt even bother to do old abyss dungeons solo as well since that is where the most new players end up. Over years I saw new players from time to time asking for help or waiting and it breaks my heart that even if I wanted to help there is no way I can because you need 6 more other players that would take too long to find before they run out of motivation to get invested. Simply put...AGS trying to but bandage on the issue instead of fixing it. Powerpass never would have worked. Drop your ideology that you wanted all players together play game at end game which never gonna happen because everyone plays at they own pace and focus on there things: New Player Experience: Solo Abyss Dungeons all the way to oreha. Bots: Do banwaves + ban perma ban RMT users. Gold: Too many gold sinks and not enough gold. Elixir + Transcendence + Hones..etc. Instead of adding more better replace old ones with new ones or combine it.
im always down to play with new / newer to raid people. 100% but im just 1 man needing a whole lobby to even attempt these things with these newer people. most of my static sure as shit dont like taking or helping new people. there just isnt enough of us but i think if SG AGS adds a good incentive to do so. youll see alot more non buss, carry, teaching groups i think
If you want get in group just learn the first gate, then once you in the second gate act like you know what to do its among us and if u wipe and they blame you just don’t give a fuck they already fucked and hard to get a other player in gate 2 or 3 etc , so they either forced to help you or they get jailed , and remember to have fun
The culture being toxic makes perfect sense. if you try to be original, creative, or an individual in any sense. you will get treated like absolute trash. The whole 7k hours i wasted my life on this game, i felt like an alien lookin in through the glass at puppets copying and pasting each others thoughts, opinions, and words with hollow eyes. it was miserable. Gatekeeping wouldnt be so bad if they made ways to progress without raid wipes. I quit mainly cause of the community, but there's other factors that would've kept me going such as if they removed the time gated content. And or added more ways to progress that can be done solo or duo. There were a lot of things they coulda done to keep me going, but it was always gonna be too little too late. i would've gladly paid 100 bucks a month to have the game be more rewarding and more fun by not being timegated to counter the money making arguement of milking whales. granted thats just me. i don't mind spending money on a game that's fun and rewarding that i respect both gamewise and myself wise. This can all be done by not changing the existing difficulties but adding reasonable ways to progress that don't give as much. With los 30, lvl 9 and 10 gems, and mvping almost all content before akkan, i spent 6 months trying to get in a learner group and couldn't. in those months i had 1 of every character, all 1560+ and more than 12 of them being 1580+ and my soulfist ended up gettign to 1595 without doing akkan cause i couldn't find a group. well i got in a group once and mvp'd gate 1 but never learned any of the gates fully cause as many times as i watched it, learning it where u know and understand it, is a different story. Doing the raid once and getting ignored in the multiple discords and groups i joined for those 6 months made me lose all interest in my declining interest i already had from how unrewarding it was, the pities, the community, the timegated content where i had nothing to do the weeks i was motivated, and too much to do for the weeks i wasn't. In short yes, you're spot on. The games too punishing and not very rewarding which leads to anyone worth playing with becoming a dooshbag puppet to korea.
they need to remove weekly lockout and let people engage in content with infinite entry. Rewards first weekly clear only. I know this will make the bussing problem worse but who cares, the jailing is the main motivator behind gatekeeping, there should be some way for players to circunvent the jail instead of having crippling anxiety cuz you never know the week's outcome
Don't worry about game is dying, the game dying is not always a bad thing. You guys have to treat it like a phoenix, if you guys feel the game is getting too bad like lost ark just let it die first and later it will rise from ashes. The game finally dying will make the devs starts to really think and make drastic changes as they will try super hard to revive the game.
My group and i quit because of the shity systems. Everything involves rng, idont think people will hop on with utter shit that they need to interact with, and dont forget that the core of the game simply just raids nothing else. Lastly, after quitting, i felt free. im playing multiple games a day, having fun, and i dont think i would come back. Smile gate never gave a shit about West, so why should we
Besides all the main issues we know, anyone thinks this game is boring? Doing the same tasks daily and same raid weekly over and over doesn’t make any sense to me.
When raids are getting harder and more punishing for the smallest mistake plus the amount of raids the outcome is gate keeping. There will always be some gate keeping but this is almost as bad is original brel. It’s either the game is challenging with 1-3 toons or easier with more toons. Can’t be both. Keep hell mode for those that want more challenges.
simple: game is dying and no new players are staying. They do play the game for some weeks and then they hit the huge wall (Group Raids) and gg, thats it. No progress from there =they quit.
simple solution, ban bussing that way everyone hase to actualy learn the raids, we get rid of impposers and bus ryders and atthe same time there will be more learninng semi-learning groups
Every mmo has gatekeeping its normal. Nobody wants to be in a raid longer than they have to. This is nothing new. What ive noticed is that gatekeeping happens when i take my 1630 and apply to a 1640+ lobby. Yeah they are gonna gatekeep you.
Trying to find progs and learning parties in party find is so dentge. There are plenty of learning discords for each region if you just care to look. The only realistic reason someone is getting gatekept should be cards. Cards are 10x more cringe than elixir and transcendence. Elixirs and trans are piss easy compared to trying to get los30. If you’re struggling with elixirs and trans then you just don’t play enough.
i said this months ago, when you have to do 18 raids per week to keep up your gold upkeep, it's just impossible to do so without gatekeeping, the design is flawed.
Why don’t they just do seasonal rotation dungeons/raids like in Tera
@@Uki2QTanything will be helpful and yet AGS/SG ignore the majority of the options. Solo is great, but they give so little gold and the hardest raids are still in group play.
@@rc8929 yeah , imo they should have give full gold in solo raid and buff more gold for group raid , or just making solo raid up to latest dungeon with addition of hard mode would be perfect. this game is almost impossible to play for new/returner player because of the gatekeeping .
gate keeping guardian raids is so crazy to me
Gatekeeping made me quit

Story, combat system, housing, and exploration.
for sure a random wipe at echidna snake mec don't feel good and i don't get why they keep doing this if they removed stuff like brelshaza gate 5 for kinda the same reason. idk
@@AegisRick ur describing bussers
The main issues that create gatekeeping can be summed up as:
Raids are too punishing
The game ask you to do too many weekly
Content came to NA too fast thus people were pushing faster and not wanting to waste their time.
Titles existing is also part of the problem, having to show proof of # of clears to enter raids.
@@Kalimdor199Menegroth That makes absolutely no sense, not everyone wants the responsibilities of leading and I shouldn't have to.
What about make a solo mode trial that teach you the fight, and you can check for only players that compleated the solo trial can apply?
Peace. ✌
Leave your hope, nothing will ever change.
Don't hope, it will never change. This is made by the games community alone and will not change.
You should consider unblocking ppl so you will be able to see lobbies in new content.
And to filter the search, you can type « -WTS »
I agree, difficulty needs to drop and giving more "POWER" to new players needs to happen, IE, dmg increases for mokoko's increase mokoko level to 1600 or so - and give more ways to get LOS30
You need to have REASON to bring in new players to the raids. Otherwise there's no incentive, to bring them as they are a detriment.
I'm hopeful the new speed up servers give us the cards and stuff and roll into the main servers
Finally I have scrolled long enough to find someone with a functioning brain
I literally quit yesterday because I’m getting gatekept because my roster level is 36 when the game has events for new players
It absolutely does. When i finally quit 1500s with L7 gems can't even get into Valtan and Vykas despite being well beyond them in gearing
Hahaha what a terrible idea thank god you are not a smilegate employee
I work 9-5,play 2-3h a day at best, farm for a month just to get fuck all nothing.
same here
They should have banned bussing from the beginning and then you would get more variety of groups.
I do not play this game to carry people that have nothing/very little invested into their chars (event gems no elixers etc etc)
I am not looking to make my raids harder/longer because I have accepted a zdps bozo by accident because I don't have a way to check their gear beforehand
My biggest gripe is the current pinnacle endgame is progression systems locked behind hard mode like why
Yay season 3 o wait im gatekept from season 3
The solution would be to remove the wipe mechanic and less dmg in normal mode. That would help a lot.
removing wipe mechanics means raids would get extremely easy to the point you can just brute force it. nobody wants that even if you think you do
the solution is to reduce Wipe mechanics to just 1 per gate instead of 4 or 5 in certain raids, and if the wipe mechanics does happen limit it to player not party.
another is to add an Easy Mode where Wipe MEchanics dont exist and progressively increase diff to Normal then Hard.
easy = no wipe mechanics
Normal = 1 Wipe mechanic
Hard = Full Raid Full wipes
Let look at the requirements for the latest content:
- Time / Money to have your character at an "acceptable" raid level
- Skill of execution aka hands and/or commitment to learn every pattern and practiced to the point of no mistake
- 7 other like minded like skilled/gear person willing to shared their time and accept other peoples mistake or lacking in the above 2 requirement
Even for those in static it isn't like everything is rainbow and sunshine.
I just wish they would pump out solo hardmodes and hellmodes and release them with regular group content. That would be really great
In WoW you have the LFR mode that put the casuals together and they can enjoy the raid experience while getting low grade end game gear, LOA is a korean game and they want to milk Whales.
If u dont have x10 title and all prior progression systems done u got no chance
Seems fair since people invested alot of time and/or money to get these
@@Minotking surely thats totally reasonable to have transcendance tier 7 for a echidna hard, not just 5 or smth because that will surely make the difference even tho u actually know what to do and do it well. In the end my expierience is the more of a gatekeeping ego players have the worse they perform in any content.
Wrong solo end game is fine by me so as long keep adding more end game raids in solo mode I will keep playing,
For any hardcore gamers out there: Getting a hell title is a great way to let people know you are (most likely) good at the game.
I’m playing for solo raids only and the game is so much better compared to last time I played.
Also I dunno if I’ll keep playing once poe2 is out
Adding to the interview analogy, I guess we just need affirmative action aka mentor systems
i believe that a good solution to the gatekeeping is to make everything solo-able, from my experience since the newest update i have been having the time of my life doing the raids by myself and slowly progressing on my own without having some vet breath down my neck for doing stuff i don't know how to do.
Solo modes have pretty much solved much of your complains. They are so easy, even a toddler can do them.
Make the game accessible ? Buuuuuut... moo0OOO0ooney !
It has great success in other games.
i can admit lowst wing clift has become a GK for sups ever since echidna =D
You are not allowed in my party without Lost wind Cliff ever since akkan
@@Minotkingoh no
@MisoxShiru
1) you are pretty much repeating everything I said in my comments in your previous videos, but its still good to know you also see the problem now.
Its be cause normal is too hard, just to learn it with a pug, you need 8 people that can spend up to 4 hours for brelshaza for example.
It's too much for the casuals and eventually burns out the hardcore players.
gatekeep is going next level now we got lobby where ppl write if ur dps under 25m you will be kicked new gatekeep rules xd
That's actually bannable . Next time you see a title like that or something like that in chat, report their profile and they'll be gone.
Bruh just say it as it is. Toxic players. Way too many of them
You have not understood a single thing about the reasons behind gatekeeping, great job !
"The harder the game punishes players the hardest players punishes between themselves"
Which is why I solo :D dont care
People like that "fly_roud" guy in your chat just should not exist in these games. How easy is to tell everyone to get better at a game where you can't even get the chance to play with other people because of the gatekeeping.
Why dont the players who are gatekept and want to learn stick together? They seem to be the majority afterall?
@@ShoopSurf Because nobody will play with them. Healers are in demand so they go to the whale parties instead of helping noobs so you end up with a 6/8 party at best for an hour then you disband
Add hard incentive for vets to help new players. Let that be cosmetics or bound gold. Something to help the community bond lmao.
Devs made it that way.
Their raid designs encourages people to gatekeep cus of jailage
I don't think raid design is at fault.
It's the fact you have to do 18raids a week that is.
So you probably shouldn't expect quick and easy raid as a f2p as the raiding experience is so much better when you overgear them, and again, that's designed as a way to monetize.
echidna hard and thae hm 1-3 gatekeep is very heavy , they requires you los 30 + weapon 25 + 6,20 demon + elixir 40+ trans 7
If you can check gear, title, achivement = strong gatekeeping(don't care if raid is easy or hard)
no gate lock out re entry free with no rewards. clears with first timers give unique token to encourage vets to play with new ppl.
So you make party learning, wait 5min, you have 3-4 people in, and than you go in raid
Cause for learning right now the most difficult thing to find supports, and even if you can go duo, it gonna be better than not do a raid at all
Solo raids are good thing, but to give a chance to play with friends gonna be better for game than just solo, so even duo mode gonna change game in a good way
Yeah, make this thing is gonna be hard but this is THE BEST solution that can only exist, cause after solo raids release i think this thing is not as unreal as before, and maybe one day we gonna see raids for any number of players
Here's the way.. make raids award gold based on percentage of dmg contribution.
This is smilegates problem.
So my point would be these but they never would change them as Miso said:
1. Replace wipe mecha with massive aoe damage that deals 85% max health. (Never gonna happen)
Drop your ideology that you wanted all players together play game at end game which never gonna happen because everyone plays at they own pace and focus on there things:
New Player Experience: Solo Abyss Dungeons all the way to oreha.
I know this will make the bussing problem worse but who cares, the jailing is the main motivator behind gatekeeping, there should be some way for players to circunvent the jail instead of having crippling anxiety cuz you never know the week's outcome
the culture of toxic gatekeeping came from a bad gameplay design. Not player's fault
Lost Ark has world class content and combat... But its social systems and raid design make it unbearable. Sad state of things.
My man, i have a pally 1630, full transcendence and even with eclipse i receive alot of gk just because i'm vairgrys.
They need to remove roaster level display and rework/remove cards
whats bus and hw mean?
Hw mean homework and bus mean u inter lobby who bus the raid for u and you give them gold and new players have to buy bus cuz of the gatekeep
@@evilerza no wonder why. There’s actual profit for these players who gatekeep. Makes a lot of sense
simple: game is dying and no new players are staying. They do play the game for some weeks and then they hit the huge wall (Group Raids) and gg, thats it. No progress from there =they quit.
If they released nude mod. Game would be fine
simple solution, ban bussing that way everyone hase to actualy learn the raids, we get rid of impposers and bus ryders and atthe same time there will be more learninng semi-learning groups
