    Awww! Homestead Heart is who gave me the courage to try, too! My mama had warned me off of pressure canner when I was a kid, lol. I just opened my new TFal canner last night and feeling a wee bit nervous. Love your calm and courageous manner here! 😁

      Don't let it fool you. Some of my first videos talk about how I sat in the living room and periodically checked on the pressure. Now I got my big girl draws on and have started sitting in the kitchen. 🤣 Happy canning!

    I LOVE homestead heart too. My mama bought me a T-fal years ago and I been scared to even unbox it. I'm prepping it now to can butter using Homestead Heart's method lol

    Did your lid lock when you put it on?? Mine twists on n off

      Yes my lid locks. Make sure you line up the arrows on the lid and pot twist and you will hear the lock. HAPPY CANNING 🥰

    What is the purpose of using baking soda???

      Not sure why the baking soda, but as I told another subscriber the manual tells us to use it to prep the canner. Its such an unusual thing so it must mean something. I will research and let my subscribers know. 😊

    I have just tried beef stew and I am unsure about the pressure? I had steam releasing through the whole 1.5 hours, and when I turned the heat down the pressure would start to drop. I am unsure if it reached the correct temperature. Is it okay for steam to relaease through the the process as long as it keeps the right pressure?

      Yes, this canner releases steam the entire time. Did you make sure you followed the 1, 2, 3 zone on the dial for cooking beef? I think #2 is for proper beef cooking. But check the manual to make sure.🙂

      @@thasfun Hi, I also had the same concern. I thought pressure cookers only start releasing steam when it hits your level setting. I had mine set to 3, and steam is releasing the whole time as the gauge slowly goes up to 3. when it finally go to 3, i still had to keep the heat on pretty strong to maintain. Just want to double check this is expected. So much steam comes out, It makes me worry if there will be any water left.

      Hi, this seems to be a question many people are concerned about and rightfully so. 😊 I will create a video today to show everyone how to maintain pressure. The quick answer for now is once you see the continuous stream, whether you are canning or cooking is the key to act.

    After the 20 minutes how long do you wait to open the steam release valve?

      I have found it takes up to 20-30mins before all the pressure has come down. I have to admit I do a little SMALL QUICK release every 10mins just to see how much pressure is still in there. Thank you so much for your continued support 🥰

    Hi, I'm using my same pressure cooker as you for the first time. I'm having a problem understanding the directions. Pacifically where it says check that the safety valve D is mobile. What does mobile mean moving, Jiggles a bit?

      Thank you for viewing. 🥰 the intent is to make sure there are no obstructions. The ball needs to be able to move around. It will be snug.
