I am retired and live in Panama. I have lived there for going on 15 years. I retired early. It is imperative when you retire and do not work that you learn to cut all unnecessary expenses. You have to learn to live with and do more with less. I did not invest in the stock market. I have also made some mistakes. I was able to over come and keep going. Now I am doing fine. My lifestyle is not for everyone however my life style is sustainable. I have not been back to the US for all those years nor do I miss the US. You have to adapt and overcome and make the best of it.

The only way you live Skylar's and many other DELAYED GRATIFICATION MINDED people's lifestyle is adapting that mindset. Successful people are very intentional about their choices and the things they want in life. Many people live for today and worry about tomorrow when it comes then wonder why they're not successful or living the lifestyle of those that have practiced delayed gratification. Many of my old friends that laughed at me while I stayed home in my 20's to save and put everything into the business I have built are still working non skill requiring jobs and broke, even worse some have kid(s) now and are still broke. The benefits and lifestyle I enjoy today is a product of INTENTIONAL decisions and sacrifices I made YEARS before I was able to reap the harvest of my work. I notice this is true in all those I meet that are independently successful. So many guys seem to watch this type of content but have no education, no trade, no skill to add value to any market. Just leeches to their respective societies. You are focused on the wrong things if this you.

My goal was buy a few apartments in the US between 50-100 units so I can cash flow between 50-100K year so I can buy a spot in Rio and Medellin and retire. Im an anonymous kinda dude so I couldn't do the influencer thing although I like the different streams of income it can provide but I just wanna chill and not be bothered with working. Bro, an E7 retiree with 90% disability (which lets be real most at 20 are getting that) is getting like 5k a month, plus whatever is in their TSP and probably house equity depending. Just the pension and disability put you into the top 1% of the country easy. I'm moving there strictly on a small nest egg and 100% and I"m headed to Rio. I'll be in the top 1% of earners just from my VA disability. The huge advantage of the military is that if you survive the forced drawdowns (like in 2011) and forced kickouts of lower enlisted personal for minor reasons, then you have rock solid job security. Right now you can straight smoke weed in your NCO's face and probably would survive getting kicked out we are so understaffed.
