English lyrics:
Rammstein *
A man is burning
Rammstein
The smell of flesh lies in the air
Rammstein
A child is dying
Rammstein
The sun is shining
Rammstein
A sea of flames
Rammstein
Blood is coagulating on the asphalt
Rammstein
Mothers are screaming
Rammstein
The sun is shining
Rammstein
A mass grave
Rammstein
No escape
Rammstein
No birds are singing anymore
Rammstein
The sun is shining
* Here the word "Rammstein" is written, but the song is actually about the flightshow disaster that happened at the Ramstein Airbase. - Видеоклипы
this song is literally so epic sounding, even though it's also terribly sad. It captures the terror that was war so god damn well. I can literally imagine an empty road filled with corpses of soldiers, women and children... the sun so hot above and the smell of corpses overwhelming your senses. And in midst of this hell, "kein Vogel singt mehr..." (not even birds sing anymore), because even they notice something is horribly wrong in that day.
The best songs in my opinion are the ones which are able to build an atmosphere that are able to take you somewhere else, for as long as the song is playing. This is one of these songs.
Interesting interpretation, I thought it was based on the Ramstein airshow disaster from 1988, hundreds were injured and 70 people died.
@@frankrobert7979 might definetly be. I don't know the official meaning of the song. Those images just flash in my mind because the band has many songs to do with the second world war and its effects on germany/the world after it. So, while listening to that song, I picture that very typical war-like scenario, mostly through the help of the narration of the lyrics.
@@liaspooked4980 I can see where you are coming from, especially from what you said about the lyrics "not even birds sing anymore". I've heard stories about visitations to Auschwitz where surrounding areas have dense populations of Crows but the camp itself is virtually silent (excluding noise pollution of tourists). But that is beauty of Rammstein, each song can be interpreted in anyway and will differ between individuals.
@@frankrobert7979 there is something so chilling about animals reacting differently when a disaster like a war happens. In theory, it doesn't have anything to do with them, but it's like they are affected my the presence of fear and death, even if only by a fraction compared to the dread people feel. That's why the lyrics about the birds hit me especially hard, in midst of all the terrible things that Lindemann, the lead singer, narrates
Actually its from the Ramstein airshow disaster as Frank said
It's really a shame more people don't like this song it's one of my favorites
