its about 10-12 dollars a day -not quite $1000 per month, it currently dropped a bit.
Is that what you're getting? I can only get $100 a month if all other miners in my hex would kick their nodes off line. I get $30 a month with 98.7% daily performance over the 30 days.
I have been with them for just about 2 years now and have stashed so many tokens as it does go through halving every year in July (so this will be my 3rd halving.) So easy to set up if you have a clear view of the sky and it is the MOST passive of all passive income projects I am involved in.

They only appear in blank hexes where there are no existing miners. From there, they start counting up in multipliers, I believe every 12 days until it reaches a max of 14x.

Correct, they just had a halving a few days ago. Phase 2 of the super hex rollout has some 2x and 4x locations that will pop up on the map for more rewards.

The project dev's are always discussing exchanges. In the mean time, just filling my bag.
Helium doesn't function the way you described. Their IOT network is what you described. Their MOBILE network is much more nuanced and more similar to the model Geodnet has also subsequently implemented. Whoever starts farming a hex first, gets 1x rewards, second .75x third .25x. After HIP-105 this will be 1x, .50x, .25x. Same as what you are fawning over here.
How do you declare the token rewards to the IRS? Is it like mining revenue? Great video by the way!!
Thanks! For mining, the IRS considers it income. Then, when you sell, it is another taxable event for capital gains. Not tax advice though, as I'm not a tax advisor.

You can swap it for various other tokens that are tradeable on centralized exchanges like coinbase. Send the swapped tokens (usdc or matic for example) to coinbase, sell for USD, transfer cash to bank. 🤙

How many miners will pay out at one location ? Will I be paid out on 3 miners in my home ?
If you are the only one in your hex, you get 100%. If you put up 2 miners in your home, they will each get 50%. If you put up 3, you will get 33.3% on each.
Now keep in mind you aren't the only one in your hex. I had no one in my hex when I ordered. By the time I got my Hynix 8-9 weeks had transpired, and someone else set up about 10 days before me. I was getting 50%. Then about 1 week after me, another person set one up about 3-4 miles away, still in my hex. Now I get .3333%. Or, about $30 a month. So, yeah, I thought I'd break even around month 6-7, but now it will be towards the end of year 2. I really don't want to look at the rate of power consumption to come up with an actual profit. If I spent $15 in power to make $30..... my break even is really around year 4.
Also, I have my install on the roof with Fiber Optic ISP at 99.999% uptime. I'm averaging 98.5% daily performance, so it's not an installation issue.

Is a Hex considered the blue 7 hex or just a single hex? I have an opportunity to put up two stations in different hexes of a blue 7 hex. Currently the multiplier is 2x for the blue 7 hex. If I put in two, the first one would get the 2x, the second would only get 1x? Is there a schedule for the multiplier to increase as the days left for miners expires? If I'm reading the documentation correctly, the current max is 4x?
Their phase 1 rollout of superhexes would increase all the way to 14x, but we are in phase 2 now, so the supers will only be either a 2x or a 4x with no incremental increase. The tradeoff though is that there will be a lot more superhexes established throughout phase 2. A superhex is considered anywhere within the blue 7 hex cluster.
Assuming you meet the 30 day rolling 98% performance metric, your miner will be granted an NFT. If you are the first one in the hex with an NFT miner, it will receive 100% of the daily rewards via a separate pool. Subsequent miners that join the hex will split the daily rewards between them, but only for the next 3 miners. Anyone that enters beyond that will get nothing. This prevents overcrowding hexes.

I also ordered a miner, there is already a miner in my hex that has been active for more than 500 days, it currently has a rolling reward rate of 39% and a token reward rate of 0%.

Yes! If your performance reaches 98% for 30 days while the neighbor miner is still underperforming, then you can earn your own NFT and take the first position for the side pool and earn 100%. Geodnet rewards reliable performance.
Would I get the GEOD daily? Meaning I could sell whenever?
Yeah, I get mine every night. I think the only time you don't get every night is if your install doesn't perform well and you only get say 75% of the max daily rewards, in which case it would roll into the next day. This saves on transaction fees.
Can you buy more than one for your area? And does it run off 110 or 240 power?
It runs off usbc power. It comes with a usba to usbc cord and all you need is a phone wall charger to power it. Regarding multiple units in one spot, they have to be at least 100m apart otherwise they count as one miner. There are other rules also, but it would be best to dive into their instructions and guides on their discord for the latest and most detailed info.
Marketcap is useless to compare. What is the economis behind it? Who is paying for this? And what is the potential to sell this data.
Generally speaking, 10% market share target on a 500B industry. They have data buyers currently and are frequently burning 100,000 tokens. Their Facebook and/or discord group posts regular updates on their dealings. I'll try and post more updates as they develop.

I personally still think it will be, long term. Right now, the earnings are about $9 a day in a non-blue hex. A lot better than almost all other DePIN projects at the moment.

Best to check the map here. If you have a good view of unobstructed sky and the address where you plan to set up doesn't already have devices in the hex, you should be good.

Yep, at 48 tokens at current price .183 = almost $9/day.

If you are the only one in a (non-super) hex and/or when you get an NFT, it can earn a max of 24 tokens a day until the next halving. So at today's token price of about $0.14, that brings it to $3.36 a day or ~$100 a month. I'm personally holding for a while in hopes for a climb to $2+, but who knows what the future brings, could go either way.

Yes, you don't have to set it up in a blue hex. If you set it up in a non-blue hex, your current max daily reward would be 48 tokens with no multiplier.

Technically yes, but it is pointless to do more than 3 in a hex. Any miners over 3 in a hex will receive zero rewards.

Correct. The hope would be that the token price rises in conjunction with the halving so the net earnings remain relatively stable. But only time will tell.

What if I have another miner in my white hex, Do I still earn 48 tokens per day even if I am sharing a Hex with someone else?
Typically you would split the daily max for that hex. If the miner already there has an NFT (shown as a black circle around the blue miner dot) then that one gets a side pot of 48/day and any other miners in the hex split another 48 tokens. There is also a halving coming up in June, FYI. It would be best to join their discord and read their documents. There are some other details that are good to know.

You'd have to have a rolling 98% performance rate for 30 days, at which point the NFT is automatically assigned.
Funny how only the US and EU have these hexes for bonuses. Canada doesn't have 1...Is their a reason for this?? seems so Jaded.
As the network expands, blue areas might start popping up in Canada. As I understand it, the blue hexes are predominently based on customer needs for the coverage. The token price jumped 17% today to, so even if one is up there in a normal hex, it has the potential to still yield $180 a month, at that token price. (Not financial advice)

You can always move a miner to. Once you have had a miner up for 30 days and it's performance has been good, you will get an NFT associated with your devices serial number. If you ever see a blue hex pop up nearby you can move it there, then bind your NFT to that new spot to protect your multiplier. It's sort of a protection element they put in place for the miner operators that perform well.
Follow up to my last comment. As long as there isn't already an NFT unit in the blue hex. To really learn all the ins and outs you should find their discord. They have all their literature in there under "Resources". They may have it on their website to, but I've just been using their discord because it's easier and you can talk to the community members who've been in this project a lot longer than me. 👊
Great Video! Even though I'm not in a blue hex it's got me thinking. I noticed on the HYFIX website there is a GEODNET subscription that is $400/yr. Is this also required to run a base station? There is almost no description on the site so it's unclear.
What happens if you already have one up, and your neighbor unknowingly also puts one up?
If two or more miners are within 100 meters of each other, the earliest one gets the reward while the new one gets zero.
hey man, thanks so much for the tips. I just ordered mine yesterday. Just curious where you purchased that heavy duty mount you showed at 0:22. I live in southern AZ and we get brutal winds here. From what I understand the unit shouldn't be able to sway more than 1mm or accuracy will be wonky. Thanks!
Nice! I designed the mount and 3D printed it. You can find a 3D printable copy here, but since you are AZ, you'd need a high temp PA material for that crazy heat!

The token price has already doubled since the making of this video, so the price has compensated for the halving. But yeah, I didn't cover that yet, along with some other things. One of which is more super hexes are going to be coming in phase 2 very soon!
