Proc had an on field authority that was hard to describe. Never prone to emotional outbursts but he could come down like a ton of bricks if he had to. I remember him batting with Trevor Madsen with Garth Le Roux bowling rockets. He hit Madsen on the side of the head and then struck him a sickening blow on the elbow ,exhanging some words.. Whilst the medics attended the stricken batsman, Proccie had that hangdog angry look,pointed his finger at Garth who tried to evade eye contact! Mike called him over and said a few choice firm things causing Le Roux to listen wirh his eyes firmly on the ground and apologising thereafter! He had he sort of charisma and authority that was very rare.
