Good to see you by the coast again Graham. Can't wait for more now we're coming out of the winter season. It's great to see how TAOUTDOORS has taken off and am really enjoying Mike's content but hope he keeps finding time to work with you on here. After all this is where it all began. Keep up the good work, we all appreciate it.
TAFishing if they are in fact an invasive species it seems as if though they would encourage people to use them for bait because that's ultimately killing them faster is it not
I am one of your dedicated viewers from across the pond, Pennsylvania to be exact, and look forward to your videos every week. Thanks. Hoping to see you and your buddy, Wayne fishing again soon.
What I like about Graeme is,he always puts up a good honest video. When The fishing is quiet, poking about with the shells and pebbles is what you do.And you know you're not daft using a swim feeder and slugs,if TA Fishing gives it a go.Enjoy the rest but take notice of the best👍
I was surprised by your comment about not using Slipper Limpets as bait. I knew nothing of this and so I researched it. It came as a bit of a shock. I don’t know when this all came about. I originate from a coastal town in Essex and can recall quite clearly large numbers of these shellfish washing up on the tideline, especially after rough weather. This was in the mid-to late 1950’s, so they have obviously been around our coasts for while. We used to use them as bait back then, but seldom caught anything on them. Thanks for drawing this to my attention. I always enjoy your videos - especially the sea fishing ones.
By far the best fishing channel out there..... another tuna fishing video would be savage ! Heard you can catch them during the summer off the coast of Kerry ...keep em coming !
Loved this video. And enjoyed a bit of beach combing. food always tastes better outdoors when it's getting colder. Honest best fishing channel to watch fun and my sort of humour. Cracking job please keep it up.
Wow, when I think back its amazing how many hours I've spent watching your youtube videos over the years. In 2013-14 I would download your videos and watch them on long car trips haha
Hi Graeme I have been experimenting with swimfeeders from the beach for a few years with some interesting results. Glad to see it working for you as well. Hope you will be at the fishing show. Tight Lines
Nice video Graeme. I used to like to try different bait. Never had any luck with slugs or earthworms although i did catch one dab on the latter. Thoroughly enjoyed watching, i might even get my gear out and have a try myself. Thankyou!
Thanks for the great videos, Graeme. Nice to watch something on youtube not full of swearing. I reckon you'd be a hoot to fish with. Subscribing from Australia.
Brilliant :-) ... I wish I had your stamina I really do, you must have been freezing out on that beach that time of night but I love the enthusiasm and I love that you always hang in there til the job is done and beyond. Certainly inspiring me to keep on trying, Thanks for that and some great entertainment too :o)
Like that feeder idea mate... i used to love my sea fish had all the good gear , century , saltist reel, fished in the winter for five years or so caught a 8lb biggest fish i live up in newcastle quit 4 year ago went to carp fishing wish id never sold my sea gear like as id like to go now and again
That's exactly why I do all- round fishing, mix it up..anticipation and excitement of trying for another species, with different tackle, surroundings and rigs....It keeps it all fresh and makes a change to get challenged.
I think this summer & fall I'm going to re-tool for a little beach work. Not sure what's going on out there this time of year but something with gills will be moving around. Nice vid bud. Thanx.
Thanks Graeme for giving us Salty’s our fix at long last, when you taking Hi Sea Drifter out, know it’s still bit early yet. Are you and Mike going to Ireland this year? Great camera work, editing and content, you should get an Oscar!
An Oscar?? i kept fish once in a tank, but never an Oscar .I would probably end up using it as bait.(Only fishtank freaks will know the Oscar is also a fish)
Used to fish out of there over the Kingmere rocks for black bream when I was writing articles for the mags of that time. Too many years ago,but I remember the boat...name was "Manta",and I think the skipper's name was Bill Hunter ??...Anyone else remember the boat ?...It was a long time ago for sure.
Hi Graham. ( not sure spelt right sorry!) I really enjoy your videos and it has inspired me a lot as I'm new to beach fishing. Now one thing I'm wondering is how do you get all your gear down to the beach? You seem to carry a multitude of reels and gear. I would be greatful for any advice you can give me. Keep up the good work and I'm sure I speak for lots of people who enjoy your films. Roger F.
Great stuff as usual Graeme.I like to use a swim feeder this time of the year too, extra scent all helps when there's not so much about. What mix do you use in yours ?
When i was a lad.....Me Dad used to take them white plastic cups, He'd cut a piece off and slot it on the hook. Idea being it'd flap about and attract the fish...It often seemed to work. The idea came from a cod that had eaten a piece of white plastic, which we found when it was gutted..Cod'll eat just about anything.. Might also be worth trying eel section and lamprey for the beach...tough baits so they stay on well...and all that blood from the lampy....Yummy...
Related to the shark family,as are Bull Huss which is also called the Greater Spotted Dogfish. The ones I caught are called Lesser Spotted Dogfish. Next species up in UK would be the Tope which is a seabed sort of shark, then we have our "real" sharks,Blue,Thresher and Porbeagle. The Mako is also an extremely rare visitor, just a handful in a 40- year period. We have some good footage of all 3 sharks in our playlist if you want to check them out.
Yep,I reckon you are right. After squidding on a pier (film up some time ago) the guys on there said it was exactly how a big squid chops through a backbone with its powerful beak to disable their prey...must be a lot of squid in our seas now eating smaller fish after the commercials stripped our mackerel stocks. The squid are maybe taking the place of the depleted mackerel stocks, though I hear that squid populations worldwide are on the increase due to general overfishing of other species....getting tougher to find good fishing all the time !!
I did hear that.I can't think why as I used to drive up to Trimingham,Waxham and other spots just for the Cod and Whiting...shows just how tough our shore fishing is getting. Seems the open beaches are deserts, its only the rough ground marks that are throwing up decent fishing.
TAFishing which end did you fish at trimmingham? Did you go to Mundesley end where it’s easy to park and Fish or the other end where you go down the cliffs? We had a couple of sessions recently at Gorleston for COD and rays but blanked.
darrenbetts2987 I live at Gorleston, and the fishing has been awful for ages. Long gone are the days when you could stand at the cliffs and see tilly lamps all the way past Horton and beyond.
I wouldnt throw that makky tail away, using a size 1 or 1/0 hook, its perfect bait, you can use it over and over. a few years ago I landed 3 whiting in a row on one tail.
Mmmm! Seems I've only seen good comments on this video. And, you've started to reply even though you and mike made a blog apologising about not replying because you don't have time because there are so many?! But there are 15 thumbs down! So do you block, or not? The only video seen with bad reviews was the £27 day freshwater ticket which was the first time I've ever seen replies to comments, you replied and told a subscriber who questioned the price and the fact that you were saying there were salmon in view, not, to go to Alaska or British Columbia! Come on, cheap ground bait! fishing for a pound! Make your own feeder?! Make your own floats! The old ones were the best. Please return to the old days where you and mike had a good relationship with the subscriber, and made them laugh with the funny comments and banter. What was the name of that Japanese fish paste?
This one is for the Sea Fishermen out there! Something a little different, learning about your surroundings and what nature can provide.
hey can you let me know where this was? it looks so familiar also keep up the good work!

What was your thoughts on all the star fish and crabs washing up at ramsgate after the beast from the east??? Has it killed the fish???
Hayling Island?

Wow, when I think back its amazing how many hours I've spent watching your youtube videos over the years. In 2013-14 I would download your videos and watch them on long car trips haha

nice one Graeme, i know a few people don't like doggies but a fish is a fish mate👍
Too right !!....Spend 7 hours biteless on a beach then get a bang on the rod tip....Only a doggie maybe...but better than a blank.
Awesome 🎣
Thank you on totally awesome video ;)
I love you Surfcasting fishing videos
Thanks for the great videos, Graeme. Nice to watch something on youtube not full of swearing. I reckon you'd be a hoot to fish with. Subscribing from Australia.

I live in Anglesey, right on the north coast. Never seen slipper limpets here at all!
I think this summer & fall I'm going to re-tool for a little beach work. Not sure what's going on out there this time of year but something with gills will be moving around. Nice vid bud. Thanx.
Is that in shoreham?
no, Portsmouth.
i made spoons an spinners out of shells didn't cach nuffing but thay did spin and move correctly you should try it an see if you can cach on them
Thanks Graeme for giving us Salty’s our fix at long last, when you taking Hi Sea Drifter out, know it’s still bit early yet. Are you and Mike going to Ireland this year? Great camera work, editing and content, you should get an Oscar!

Great as usual
Graeme, All on your lonesome. I reckon, all the fisherman are in the pub with binoculars looking to see if you catch.
You know what, i challenge you guys to catch an arctic char in the UK!
I think you will catch them at Rockbourne Trout Fishery in Hampshire...check them out.
Hi Graeme did you get a bite on the Pouting.
No,not that night, but Pouting is a really good bait for Rays and Conger.
Every time I watch one of these southern beach fishing videos it reminds me of visiting my gran in Littlehampton, you ever fish there?
Used to fish out of there over the Kingmere rocks for black bream when I was writing articles for the mags of that time. Too many years ago,but I remember the boat...name was "Manta",and I think the skipper's name was Bill Hunter ??...Anyone else remember the boat ?...It was a long time ago for sure.

as always, great video from the master. I hope you can help me too with my fishing. I just went fishing today and caught 0 fish.
Great stuff as usual Graeme.I like to use a swim feeder this time of the year too, extra scent all helps when there's not so much about. What mix do you use in yours ?
Hey Graeme when was this video recorded? I have no luck fishing the jetty and pier where i live. Hoping the state stocks trout nearby my county.
Might also be worth trying eel section and lamprey for the beach...tough baits so they stay on well...and all that blood from the lampy....Yummy...
what would you catch in those cold lands we wonders
Stokes bay , hill head or Lee on Solent??
Those dog fish, are they apart of the shark family? Never seen them before.
Related to the shark family,as are Bull Huss which is also called the Greater Spotted Dogfish. The ones I caught are called Lesser Spotted Dogfish. Next species up in UK would be the Tope which is a seabed sort of shark, then we have our "real" sharks,Blue,Thresher and Porbeagle. wait are the mackerel in already ?, in Ireland btw i duno if it would be different here compared to where this was filmed
Yes the mackerel were in already....In the freezer !!!!
TAFishing ohh haha, it just looked very fresh so i assumed it was cought recently
I've heard lug can get washed on beach after a storm is that true Mr.
I caught a bass with a two hook sillie rig
Stone's on the beach with a hole through them are early fishing net weights
SUCCESS!
Not allowed to use limpits? Why? What are they endangered or some thing?
Are you useing 3 year old bait?
What about limpits?
I think you are ok using the cone type limpets stuck to rocks, its the slipper limpets they seem to have got their keepnets in a twist over.
Never heard or seen a slipper limpet on the beach, will have to keep an eye out!
Bonjour Je suis le french guy avec le bump in the head hahahaha
Bonjour mon ami...Je suis le Englazy avec le crappo casting technique. Sincere apologies.
That bite is typical of a squid or cuttle attack. Most likely answer, especially down on the south coast👍
Possibly a squid that had the pouting.
TA Outdoors fishing up here in north norfolk has been diabolical lately.
I did hear that.I can't think why as I used to drive up to Trimingham,Waxham and other spots just for the Cod and Whiting...shows just how tough our shore fishing is getting. Seems the open beaches are deserts, its only the rough ground marks that are throwing up decent fishing.

I'de bet it was a big squid that took that chunk out of that fish
yes, it looks like a typical squid bite
I wouldnt throw that makky tail away, using a size 1 or 1/0 hook, its perfect bait, you can use it over and over. a few years ago I landed 3 whiting in a row on one tail.
The reason we cut the mackerel tail off is that it makes the bait spin in the air when casting .Removing it makes the bait travel better.
Ahh, cool, wasnt aware of that. Mind you, I generally fish from pier/promenade, so distance isnt much of an issue.
With a fish/squid/scrap worm loaded feeder i reckon i catch 3:1 against a rod without.
The culprit to the pouting would most probably be a cuttle fish
Mmmm! Seems I've only seen good comments on this video. And, you've started to reply even though you and mike made a blog apologising about not replying because you don't have time because there are so many?! But there are 15 thumbs down! it's an offence to use slipper limpets as bait Wtf.
Their numbers have crashed and they are now protected...
They are an invasive species which cause problems to native Oysters populations...
T555
Can't use limpets, bollocks ! I'll use what ever bait I want.,an anyone who tries to tell me different will end up going for a swim!
