Rafah crossing opens for some civilians

Hundreds of foreign passport holders and some sick and wounded Palestinians have been able to leave Gaza for the first time since the war between Hamas and Israel began.
They are passing through the Rafah border crossing into Egypt, which controls the border. Convoys of aid have passed through the border, but no civilians until now.
Egypt tightly controls the Rafah crossing for security reasons, and because it says there’s no infrastructure for wide scale resettlement of Palestinians.
