I have been rocking this setup for a while now combined with classic track! It is absolutely ground breaking but I do get occasional issues with my setup such as the older cars all of a sudden going full throttle, this is something that very occasionally happens and I presume it's because I don't have a modern setup in regards to car and track? Anyway this is the dream and I am super pleased it is now reality! :)
I believe the ARC system(s) use(s) pulse modulation to control the speed of the car. Older cars have less tight tolerances and may like some of the electronics that might be causing them to surge. The most common problem I see is that the wires are loose or the soldering is coming apart and during racing a "better" connection hits it and it takes off! So examining every small nook and cranny can help. BTW: The system also works great with non-Hornby cars as long as the guide blade or pin is black! We love ARC AIR!
Thanks for the reply, I thought it might be something like that and we also love ARC AIR! In my opinion it is the greatest achievement in decades when it comes to slot car racing because finally I can sit on my sofa and play! :)
