    Parents or caregivers in TS3 seem to have a lot more purpose and intuition on what the kid needs. They don't usually just watch or check up on without doing what the child needs. I really like that aspect of TS3.

    You should do two houses: one with a sim that Hates Children, and one with a Family-Oriented Sim, to see how much the traits affect their childcare skills. For good measure, you could have a 3rd house with a Sim with none of these traits.

    Life hack: toddlers in TS3 will gain the same hunger fulfillment being fed on the floor with a bottle as being fed in a high chair. It makes the whole parenting thing much more efficient.

    Me, who's doing a 100 baby challenge in the sims 3... Yep, sims are way better parents autonomously in sims 3. Even strangers visiting take care of them. Also yes on toddlers having more animations and autonomy than playing in toilets, which seems to be all they want to do in sims 4. Kids in general are way easier because you don't need to tell them what to do constantly.

    It just goes to prove the point that Sims 4 Sims are NOT smarter, like we were told, and they're less complex as far as self-expression goes. While Jean's screaming animation got repetitive, she at least covered her ears to give variation. I love that she still handled the situation, that even though she hates children, she still got on with it in a way. How would a Sim with the Family Orientated trait handle this? Would it be any different? Would they be faster at meeting the toddler's needs, or roughly the same without the screams? I'm curious to know.

    This is something I find weird in the sims. In the sims 4, you have to do most of the work to keep the kids around, but in the sims 3, they can feed themselves, make money, live great lives, and that’s just at a child’s age. You also had babies in ts3. I just feel like ts3 had better sims with better autonomy and they forgot to add that in when they made ts4. And I once again will mention the most obvious changed sims, BABIES.

    I can see how Sims 4 are ‘smarter’. Even though this Sim in 3 hates children, she is still going around taking care of all the children. Why bother even having the trait if it doesn’t affect anything in Sims3?

  • @Olalla_
    @Olalla_ Год назад +5

    So hates children trait in Sims 3 clearly doesn’t work. Except for occasional mad howling on her part, she took care of the kids like any other sim. I would expect her to ignore them, give them food, but not bother to put them in bed. Why would she? She hates them.

    • @HopeGardner3amed

    • @strangeduckling
      @strangeduckling Год назад +4

      Honestly, I'd say it's more of a failing of the Mean trait than the Hates Children trait. You can hate kids but still not want them to be neglected and abused or to grow up badly (that would be more for the Evil trait), but other than screaming in front of them and taking her time, she was realing nice and kind to the kids and wasn't really mean at all. Besides, it makes sense to take care of the toddlers with the Hates Children trait; she has nowhere to leave or escape to, so if she goes ahead and keeps their needs up then she'll be less likely to have to hear their cries constantly, lol.

    • @Olalla_
      @Olalla_ Год назад +1

      @@strangeduckling I hope there will be an update in Sims 4, where hates children sim will try to run out of the window when left with too many kids. Or they should be happy if kid is taken away, unless it’s their own. That would felt very real lol.
      Actually hates children should be mean to kids. In Sims 4 when you have wants/fears on hates children sim constantly gets abusive wants forward children (yell at, crush dreams of a toddler, be mean to a child, spent 8 hours away from kids). So yeah this trait was meant to be mean as hell to children. Wants gave it oomph, but I still hate when they dutifully take care of kids.
      Oh, and the sim I was playing with had no mean trait.
